I'm not quite late in applying, but I'm not early so I applied to 18 DO schools. Probably overkill, but I guess i just prefer to be safe

That is definitely overkill! If you are already verified, that means you submitted late July or early August, which I think was early if you disregard all the SDN hysteria. Applying to 8-10 school max would have been enough with your stats.

Haha I appreciate your confidence in me, I am just hoping that I will have some options by the end of the year!

Gpa isn't the best but mcat is awesome. Apply to nova and you will get some love

Congrats! It is very important to determine the extent of their stringent nature...care to share your stats?

EDIT: Great success!!!! Just got it too.

Is there an essay to write? If so, could you share the prompt?

Thanks

if you have GMAIL look under the 'Promotions' tab.. thats where my secondary from this school was

Did you have trouble submitting the application? The submit button will not submit.

i'm currently working in the ER so I haven't even looked at it yet. btw for all you saying the no lower subsection than 8 could be strict... not likely since i received a secondary and have one subscore of a 6.

Me too.

I called them today to ask about the requirements MCAT and class wise. They seem to be set in stone about the verbal being an 8.

The guy told me that they are getting a TON of apps right now, from out of state. it seems like a really cool school!

I wonder how likely it is to get an interview if you get a secondary. They screen primaries so heavily for LORSs and GPA/MCAT. It seems they may interview a lot of their secondary invites???

Also if anyone has been able to successfully submit their application, then please let me know. The submit button still doesn't work.

Scan through your app and look for a little yellow triangle that resembles a caution sign. I had the same issue and apparently it was from not putting in the date of my graduation correctly.

I'm not sure about their pre screening. I have a 6 in verbal and they sent me a secondary. Maybe I can convince them that I have extenuating circumstances some how.

Thanks. It works now. Don't I feel dumb.

You just got a confirmation code after you submitted right? I tried to sign back in and it had no record of my submitted app.

I'm glad to hear people getting secondaries with lower than 8 Vr.. Hope they're not trolling us and just getting secondary money.. Because I have 7VR

What's the secondary like?

I thought it was tedious as well.

What was the essay question lol

What is your personal philosophy on the practice of medicine and explain how you feel that you will advance the mission and vision of Liberty University and it's College of Osteopathic Medicine? (500 words or less)

I don't see them listed on interfolio... how do we send letters?

Medicine or osteopathic medicine? Just have to make sure. And thanks btw

When you submitted did you just get a page with a confirmation code? I tried to log back in and it is just a new app...no record of submitting it other than the confirmation code when I initially sent it...read (pre-med neuroticism).

Yeah that is all I got as well. I just saved that code.

I wonder how quickly they will start rolling out interview invites? I imagine sooner rather than later (probably by the end of the month). They want to compete for applicants who are getting ii's around the same time. If they wait too late, people will have already committed to other schools and be less likely to go to another interview.

I have a question regarding the structure/curriculum of the school. I don't know of any other medical schools that go on a trimester schedule. Is this a good thing? Or bad because we will have more information to cram in a smaller time frame???? Really worried about this!!
(Look in the academic catalog if you don't know what I am referring to or don't believe it is on a trimester schedule).

I wouldn't be too concerned about the trimester schedule. I would be more concerned about the strength of the clinical rotation sites. Liberty seems to have a great connection with Centra Health Systems. Lynchburg General looks nice.

Did anyone else receive a secondary? Apparently they screen rigorously for people they want judging from the e-mail.

There is tremendous hostility towards this school on SDN, so don't be surprised at occasional posts like these.

Regardless of one's stance on their undergrad, it is utterly preposterous to open a new school when there is already one enrolling 189/students year barely 100 miles away (VCOM).

I was unaware that you were being required to apply to liberty...If the school doesn' interest you, ignore it. Just leave the thread for discussing applications

What's the problem with enrollment of lots of students? I mean, if they can't cut it, they'll flunk out anyway right?

I just got a secondary invite. Do I have to call to get a student ID number in order to access the app?

edit: nvm

do we not use the student portal for anything?

edit: Sorry, can delete this post. Answered my own question

How long has it typically been taking to hear about an ii after you submit the secondary?
