Can someone help me way the pros and cons of Miami Miller and Georgetown? I'm trying to make my decision for matriculation in August! I already know about the cost difference so I'd rather discuss the student life, possibilities for away rotations, volunteer and research opportunities, residency matching, curriculum, prestige of the school, etc! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Georgetown is gonna cost you, DC is expensive (not quite NY expensive), but they match very well and the name certainly carries prestige

Miami is private but from what I've read the financial aid isn't bad, and there are a fair amount of scholarships given (not sure if you got one). Miami is less expensive and is a fun city. Additionally you get some regional bias coming from there = good if you want to stay in the area.

Personally I wouldn't mind winding up in Miami, Florida is a great place for physicians as far as compensation and lifestyle. Plus I love trauma and Ryder would be a great place for me.

Can't really speak to Georgetown other than name recognition. Miami has the second busiest academic trauma center in the country. I know they match pretty well, particularly into competitive specialties (R.O.A.D). Personally I think its a really good school, but not a huge fan of Miami as a city. I am a very outdoorsy person and as such find myself bored there. Likely why they have such great food. I have a theory that Miami has such great food because there is nothing else to do other than eat, go to the beach, and nightclub. Perhaps not a bad deal if that's your thing, and for many it is, just not ideal for me. I would go there (and am applying) over other lower ranked schools however.

Again can't comment on a direct comparison to G-Town.

Good luck.
