My interview for MSU is Friday. I’m nervous! Good luck to everyone with interviews!

@sheltermed how long is the interview day? Like would it be possible to fly out on the evening of interview day?

I was there 1:00pm-7:00pm. It depends on the time of your interview and which airport you use. I would say yes, it's possible, but you may be pressed for time. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions!

How do you guys think it went yesterday?

If I'm ever at a thing where I know there will be SDN pre-vets I usually ask if there are any SDNers in the house, but I chickened out yesterday.

Personally, I think it can go either way for me. Some of the scenarios went well, others not so well. I can't say any of them went particularly poorly, but there were at least a couple that make me cringe a little thinking back.

I hope you did well!!! I have faith you’ll get in! How did you prepare? I’m anxious and nervous.

For those under review - I didn’t receive my interview invite until mid January last year. So don’t worry. They mean it when they say you’re still under review.

Also, dress WARM. It will be very very cold by January - we are talking like 10 degrees and possible snow. I recommend a parka, gloves, a hat, and bring some boots to wear after interviews are done. The tour is long and there is walking outside.

The interviews depend on which invite batch you’re in. So if you heard this week 1/17, 1/24 or 1/31 are your options. Another batch goes out in January and I’m guessing they’ll have similar February options

Every interview I’ve been in has at least an area to drop your bag outside the interview room.

There is a room you’ll meet in first to set down your belongings. I brought heels with me, put them on in there and left my boots with my purse. Interviewed, then changed back into them.

Nope haha. I wore my big Ski parka haha. The only time your attire really matters is when you are in the interview rooms.

OOS rejection today. I’m a little surprised about this one, I have a fairly diverse application & only have a low GPA, which everyone has says MSU doesn’t care about so long as you’re above their minimum. Oh well, hope everyone else does well!

I haven’t booked yet. Generally I go by recommendations of current students on here 🙂

Anyone know how the post-interview process goes for OOS? Do a handful of people get accepted off the bat and the rest are waitlisted until all positions are filled? Or do they reject people after the interview? I took a glance at last year's thread and didn't see anything about people getting rejected post interview.

Last cycle they sent out invites in 3 separate waves.
On the interview page it also says invites will be sent right up to the last scheduled interview date, which is at the end of feb.

OOS still waiting here, last year they sent the second wave 2 weeks after the first one, so I'm hoping we hear something soon. But no news is good news!
