as far as simulation facilities, they showed us several examination rooms that were linked via camera to a large classroom with multiple "watching stations" and a large flat screen in the center of the room. we were told that teachers and other students in the large classroom could watch, as well as interact with (via intercom), students in the exam rooms. apparently, all of their simulation is done on standardized patients. i didn't see any biomechanical "sim man" dummies though.
as far as international opportunities, i heard something about morehouse students, in conjunction with emory students, studying in several difference countries during the summer between ms1 and ms2 as well as during ms4. didn't really get much on this though because i'm not really that interested in international medicine and didn't ask any follow up questions.
as for lectures, the skinny seems to be that they are recorded (audio only) and all supplemental lecture materials (power points, hand outs, etc) are posted to the web before class. apparently, there are a lot of students who rely solely on this because my tour guide said that there were people he never knew were in the class until he met them at some random test.
all in all, i was impressed too and have my reservations about leaving texas for atlanta. but the school is awesome, the people are dedicated, passionate, and genuine, atlanta is a culturally rich and diverse city, and it's pretty hard to beat that 100% usmle passage rate.
but hey, we have until may 15 right? i mean, this is a very big decision. i plan on taking as much time as possible pondering, thinking, praying, asking questions, and figuring it all out.
