Thank you for all the work you guys put into reading our applications and trying to get decisions back to us! We are just excited to learn if we can attend NCSU and we understand how much you put into this every year 😊

Rejected. 20 spots for 901 applicants. Hard odds to defy. Good luck to everyone else!

My email said the list was unranked which doesn't make a ton of sense to me... how will they choose whom to contact first?
If it’s anything like Western, then they evaluate waitlisted applicants against the spots they still need to fill. So depending on what they want their class to look like, that’s who gets picked. And I don’t mean physically, I mean background, academics, experience, etc.

Good point - I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the insight!

The NC State CVM thanks all of the nonresident applicants who applied this year. Our nonresident total of 901 is the highest in the history of the college.

We were astonished by the outstanding qualities of this applicant pool. You made our job very difficult.

If you were admitted or placed on the waitlist, we hope to see you in January for our welcome weekend.

If you weren't, we wish you the best in your pursuit of a veterinary medicine career. Perhaps you can join us in the future for an externship, internship, or residency. How fun would that be?!

Have a happy, safe and joyous holiday season!

Do we know how many IS applications will be reviewed yet?

Hi everyone! Question: As a waitlisted OOS student, does the Welcome Weekend on January 18th and 19th affect your standing in waitlist? In other words, by attending the welcome event, can you boost your chances of getting off of the waitlist?

The last number they posted back in September was 1197 total, so there are at most 296 IS applications.
Yeah, I wasn’t sure if they had a total number after taking out any ineligible applications (missing pre-reqs, transcripts, etc.) but thanks!

It has been many years now, but this is how the waitlisted students were evaluated when I was applying.

Congrats everyone who got good news, and good luck to those on the waitlist! I enjoyed my time at NCSU as much as anyone can enjoy vet school, it's a good place to be. 😍

No, attendance at the Welcome Weekend doesn't impact an applicant's standing on the waitlist. You are encouraged to attend so that you gain a better understanding of our program. If admitted after April 15 (the decision deadline day for admitted applicants), an applicant will have 48 hours to accept or decline the offer.

Does anyone know where we submit our fall transcripts? Should it be electronically sent to the student services office email address, [email protected] ?

So, I was stalking threads from previous years, and it looks like IS found out on 1/24 in 2017, 2/1 in 2018, and 2/12 in 2019. @NCSU CVM, any chance it'll be a little closer to the 2017 date? 😉

That is what I did through National Student Clearinghouse and had to enter that email. I got a notification today that it was received and downloaded. You probably also received a mass email around the end of December that had the fall transcript submission details.

Is NCSU saying it’s all a waiting game? Well we know that silly!

Hi everyone! I wasn't able to attend the Welcome Weekend - did anyone take notes they are willing to share? Particularly things talked about during the informal interest areas talks, curriculum overview, and house system that might not be obvious from the website.

Thanks 🙂

In 2017, acceptances went out on 1/24. The next year, they went out on 2/1... 8 days later. In 2019, 11 days later on 2/12. 11 is 1.375x 8. 1.375x 12 is 16.5. Rounded to a whole number, that's 17. Therefore, my guess is Monday 2/17.

Should we factor in the amount of applications they were reviewing in this?

I just would like to know so I can take off of work and be alone when I get the news!

Any prime number hints, NCSU CVM, or hints drawing from history or literature? Literary hints are often fun... :^)))
