**Official 2022 Peds PASS/Interviews/Match/Non-Match**

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I feel like I check it every other day just to make sure that it didn't someone become "uncertified"... This process is crazy and I'm glad it is almost over....

LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!

Okay I thought I was the only one who does this! I even send screenshots to my family asking them an I reading it correctly lol

Where can you see programs’ match codes in PASS to confirm that they match your rank list?
The match codes are listed on PASS when you click on each program individually or in the program search on PASS.

For those who applied last year, did pass requested the recommendations again? Or they saved the old ones?

Recommendations weren't saved, so you need to request new ones, even for the institutional evaluation. But other parts of the application and scores/transcripts were saved.

To add to beingaunicorn's post,

From what I have heard: your old reference writers can return to the portal where they submit LORs, will still be able to see their previous submissions, and can easily transfer over the stuff they wrote from an earlier application cycle. You'll still need to request it though.

Hi everyone
Just being a little paranoid before the deadline, there isn't any thing you need to to after certifying your rank order, right?
Dashboard on the match site says I am active in the match and my rank order has been certified.

Alright… to boost morale in this treacherous 10 day waiting period, does anyone have/know of any first hand success stories of people who matched at their first choice for peds? 🙃

Does anyone know how the ranking works in terms of the residency programs preferences?
For example : if a program has 7 spots do they only rank their top 7 people they want or do they rank everyone they interviewed ?
Strange question I know just trying to figure it all out 😂

Does everyone else’s page say results will be available at 12pm ET? I thought it was 8am ET?

If they want to risk having half their residency spots go unfilled, they’d only rank as many candidates as they have spots.

Here’s a video on how Match works...

Any idea of the time everyone gets the email on the 24th?

The website says that it will be available by 12pm EST but it can be available as early as 8am EST. According to all of the past forums for peds, results have come out within a few minutes of 8am EST each year.

Hopefully this year is the same.... :biglove:

Match Statistics

Check out the link above and go to section 5.3. It shows you how many applicants programs put on their rank list on average. Looks like most programs rank 4 applicants per available position.

ONE WEEK LEFT

I need suggestions on how to pass the time...

Haha! There is a countdown each year.

Cram your schedule with patients, binge watch shows, go help a new mom with her new baby, have lots of wine, workout for 3-4 hours. Basically, don’t give your brain time to think 🤪🤪🤪🤪

In all honesty, whatever happens, everyone just remember, you are awesome and will do great things for yourself🙂

And for all those that do match, please don’t forget to pass it forward. Help others who are applying here, there and every where!!

I don't understand why we have to wait over a week to find out! The program probably takes a few minutes to run.! Good luck to everyone!!

Do the programs find out the same day as the applicants or before ?
From what I heard: programs find out at 12 noon EST when the post-match list is published. That is why we are asked not to contact the program we match with until after 12 noon EST (I think?).

Anybody else hear something different?

LESS THAN FOUR DAYS! :luck:

Hi yall, I'm a peds resident, and I help first time applicants and re-applicants transform their applications for residency, so Ive been following the cycle, and I want to offer you a few words!

CONGRATS TO YOU! YOURE ONLY A FEW DAYS AWAY…

I want to applaud each of you that applied this cycle—because that alone is no easy feat. I also want to remind you that efforts to get you this far are just as amazing as whatever outcome you see on the 24th. You are worthy and deserving of a space in this field, and no matter the outcome, no matter where you end up, know that true change comes from the compassion you offer children and their families long after residency is over. Sleep well this weekend, distract yourself with all the great things in your life, and most importantly, validate every single last one of your efforts. This is not about the destination, its about the journey—the years, tears and triumphs that preceded many years before. There is space for you in the field, and it will happen at the perfect time for you <3

I wish you all the best. PM me if you need me. Have a great weekend and congratulations to each and every one of you.

Can anyone please explain how post-match works? should we contact the pds first then send the pass application? or how exactly 🙏

hey all, i am a d3 who will be applying for Peds this summer. Was wondering if anyone here interviewed at Lurie Childrens in chicago or Mt Sinai in NYC. If so please PM

Hi guys, I was curious about the post match process. Let's say I applied to Program X and Y, interviewed at them and put Program X and Y on my match certification list. And let's say I did not match to Program X and Y on match day. However, I can see that Program Z (which I never applied to initially), has an open position for post match. In this scenario, how do I send them my ADEA PASS application? Assuming, I never even applied to program Z on my ADEA PASS portal. When I download my ADEA PASS app, I can only download PASS apps for Program X and Y, the paperwork has the specific program's name on it. In this scenario, can I send Program Z my application from Program X and Y? Won't that be weird if it has other program's name on the paperwork?

Additionally, do you guys know what other documents I may need to send to programs for post match? Sorry, I know it's a bit confusing. Thank you so much for your help.I am very nervous about this process. Thank you again!!

You can add a new program and just send all the information.

So do you see all the post match spots on ADEA and then send them your app through that? Do people contact the school?
Yeah, my friends that had to post-match during dental school contacted each school they were interested in. Also, the Dean of Student Affairs reached out to other deans/ program directors/ old contacts on their behalf to try to prime the pump. Anything and everything will help during the post-match process so don't be a wall flower. I mean, you'll still need to interview and all that jazz but you'll want to do everything you can to make it to the part where you get the interview.

You will see the post match spots on the dental match website and then you can email program directors and send your application to the program through PASS portal.

when do you find out if you got into a post match position? is it immediately or does it take some time?

What should the email to the program directors say?

I was reading a thread on this from a while back and the person mentioned that there are no "standard ways" to offer acceptance in post-match.

For one program, the person was offered acceptance within an hour ot interview and another program I think it was three or four days after the interview.

LESS THAN 30 MINUTES!

Best of luck everyone :biglove:
