Congratualtions to all you guys, I hope to see you there next year. I hate to bring up anything negative, but just to be sure about everything, has anyone pulled up the status page and it not said you are accepted. I'm sure you guys are all accepted, but it seems as though everyone that has checked has gotten the good word, it would just make it more offical for you guys if someone didnt (sorry for that someone who doesnt)
 
Well I am sure they will wait to post the bad news till the mentioned date...March 22nd
 
Good point, Logan. I don't mean to be annoying but does anyone else's status page still say that no decision has been made or they have not been accepted?

When I checked my status, it also said that I was accepted. I'm kinda worried about this because it also had a "Thank you for registering for second look" at the top, but I never actually registered. I don't know if it means anything, but I really wouldn't want this to be a mistake!
Someone tell me it's not.
 
Good news for all of you guys. Bad news for me. Mine still says that all decisions will be posted by the 22nd. I called on Monday and was also told then that no decision had been made on my file. I interviewed at the end of November. Congrats to all of you who got in!!
 
Hey, mine says I've been accepted too!!!! Oh, man, I hope this isn't a mistake or something!! What's the second look thing that I'm supposed to be registered for? Anyway, I'm soooo happy :clap: :clap:
 
Oh, by the way, I had a regional interview on February 22.
 
Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! Duke is a great place!!! I loved it there! Like several others, I received the ominous "all decisions will be posted by March 22nd" message. Let's hope I'm just being pessimistic 🙂
 
Well, this was an unexpected surprise. I was taking them at their word for the March 22nd date. Anyway, I got in! Crrrrrrazy. 🙂

The Second Look is their revisit weekend, which according to my status page I'm already registered for. I was wondering, it seems everyone who has an acceptance online interviewed late, the last day in my case. Has anyone who interviewed late had something else come up, or has anyone who interviewed early had it say they were accepted?
 
Congrats to everybody! Sounds like the good news is pouring in 🙂 In terms of the "Thank you for registering" for the 2nd look weekend, I think it's a link to allow you to register (at least that's what I assumed it was - I was too excited to actually look at it!) Anyway, I hope the information posted on the website is legitimate 😕

Nope, I interviewed in December, and mine just says that the status page will be updated by the 22nd. I also received the "we're still deciding" response when I called recently.
 
I interviewed on Nov. 5 and I called. They said no decision has been made. The status check says the same thing. I really am bummmed...
 
I just checked out the "thank you for registering for a second look" link. It takes you to a website with travel info, the agenda, the registration form, etc. The revisit weekend is scheduled from April 4-7, and you need to register by March 25th. I really really hope the notice on the website isn't yet another mistake.
 
I doubt it's a mistake if they're letting you register for 2nd look weekend.

Unfortunately, for me it still says the final decision will be posted by March 22. I interviewed in December.
 
I want to believe that this isn't a mistake, especially at a place like Duke. I guess with all the computer errors that have occured this year, I've just become extremely paranoid and have problems trusting information that is not on paper. However, once I hear verbal confirmation, which I plan on getting in the morning, I'll continue the celebrating I was doing earlier.

Congrats everyone!! I interviewed in December and the page says that I got in.
 
oh my gosh, i just checked the webpage and it stays that i got in. I am in disbelief right now and i hope that it all isn't a mistake. wow.
 
I'm pretty sure that it's not a mistate; I get the "registered for the second-look weekend" message too.

For those of you who received paper acceptances, how long do we have to reply? I worried about meeting the reply deadline because I'm not going to be able to check my mailbox until I get back to school (which will be more than a week). Also, is there an offical form that we need to send back? Thanks!
 
I'm pretty sure that it's not a mistake. That webpage has always been right before. There does seem to be a lot of people on here with good news, though. I guess SDN'ers are just that good. 🙂

Anyway, congratulations to all of you who got in! I wish you all the best over the next four years, whether you end up at Duke or not.

For those of us who didn't, hey, who really cares about Duke? :wink: If we got an interview at Duke, we'll definitely get in SOMEWHERE, and we'll be doctors in the end, and that's what really matters, right?

Stay hopefull. You interviewed on the absolute last day and so there's still a huge chance of good news. I think I've gotten good at predicting acceptances for people. I'm yet to miss :wink: . Hang in there buddy. Hopefully we'll meet in the fall.
 
There was someone else who posted saying he interviewed on the last day. He got in.

So, as much as I like to remain an optimist, I think hope is down to slim and none, and slim just left town. 🙂 Maybe a waitlist is still possible, but at Duke, I don't think they take very many off a waitlist...

Any other potential Duke rejectees with any other ideas? :wink:
 
Does anyone think people who went to Duke undergrad are at a disadvantage at Duke Med? I kind of do. While there are usually about 15 Dukies in the class, so many of us apply. When I interviewed, more than half the interviewees were Dukies. What do you think?

I guess I'm just frustrated because I really wanted in and it's not looking good.

For all of you whose page says a decision will be made by friday: be glad that you are not on step 4. at least youve made it to 5. wow guess im a super-reject, they wouldnt even confirm me, i love it. congrats to all that got in. duke seemed like a uniquely amazing place!!!

Once I have all the decisions on the table by the end of this month, it's all going to be about second look bro!! 😀
I really really do like the idea of getting classroom stuff over in a year, and to entirely focus on a cool research/service project in the third year, so Duke is in my top TWO choices, the other one being a little known school up in Boston... :wink:

And yes it was always so funny to have interviewers walk in after me, and with a puzzled look on their face say... "uh, your chair is over there maaaaan...." 😀 😀

Just got off the phone with Duke. Apparently they cannot tell me my status over the phone, and seeing as they have been telling acceptances, I am fairly confident that's the end of that.
Congrats to all you who got in, ya gotta post in the student forum next year and tell me how it is 🙂 .

do you guys think the status changed for all the acceptances that went out or just that were sent out last Friday? If it only changed for those who were sent letters Friday, maybe we still have a chance...
 
Has anyone received an acceptance packet in the mail but NOT had their status on the web say they're accepted?
 
Well, for everyone out there, I just tried to sign onto the web page to sign up for the second look weekend, and something is wrong with it, so they may be updating peoples now or something.
 
Well, I just called Duke, and the lady said they WERE having problems with their online status check, and to not take anything as final until if and when I were to receive something in the mail. So much for going to Duke!
 
Now, several people who have been accepted via the status webpage interviewed in the last week. So, I'd say that all she wrote, folks... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
 
You may be right dukee, but I have a feeling that if you call and they tell you you cannot get your status over the phone after they have pulled up your file to tell you it (odd, no?) that it means it is over. I'd love to be able to eat my words tommorrow, but I expect to recieve that lil' rejection letter when I get back from break. I will try to get online on vacation to tell you guys when I get it.
 
There's definitely something strange going on here. I just tried to log in to my Duke Med account and there's a message saying that they're having problems and the status check is currently not available. 😕
 
Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass if we go back later, and it says "Whoops, that acceptance was a mistake. Blame AMCAS." <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
 
Hey, did any else's status on the webpage change? Now I'm back up to step five where there still isn't a decision. Was all that joy last night for naught?
