I haven't shaved my beard in 10 years. I'd say as long as it is neat and trimmed, as it should be naturally for a professional look, you should be fine.Maybe I'm getting into the weeds here, but I would love some insight. I normally have a beard, but should I have a clean shave for interviews?
Even a residency in a funk is fine. If it even is in a funk. Most programs go through ups and downs. Constant change in faculty and PD/ Chairs. Biggest thing with UNC is it’s 3 years. That’s not necessary for endo. So unless you don’t care about 3 years or want 3 years for a masters or extra training, then I’d look elsewhere. Is UNC really in that big of a funk ?

If you didn’t put it the application, there is no way to know, plus, they won’t ask you.Do you guys think saying that I didn’t take adat (even thought I did and didn’t do well) will be caught some how? And what would u do it you were in my shoes ?
very nice of the PD to wait until the actual deadline!University of Maryland interviews will be August 8 and 9. PD will looking at completed apps July 1. Also program is 26 months now.
Signed,
Out going resident 😂
Yeah she’s not unreasonable. She’s also terribly busy lolvery nice of the PD to wait until the actual deadline!
20 years of experience. 30 publications. Endodontist in another country. Related to riccuci by bloodare Maryland and West Virginia very specific while selecting residents e.g 5+ years experience etc.
I bet 20 years of experience is frowned upon now.20 years of experience. 30 publications. Endodontist in another country. Related to riccuci by blood
PGY-2 at UIC. I have a beard and my 2 male co-residents have beards. A beard might increase your odds.Maybe I'm getting into the weeds here, but I would love some insight. I normally have a beard, but should I have a clean shave for interviews?

When they offered you an interview, did they leave you a voicemail not mentioning the interview? I received a call and a voicemail saying to call them back and that was all. Did not receive an email. I tried calling them back but have not heard anything.
High tuition and large class (like 8 or more per class I think). But the residents I've met from there seem happy. And is it a good program?
Nothin yet, last year they sent out interviews mid July so I’d say wait a bit longerHas anyone received any emails from the University of Southern California aside from the fee receipt email?
And is it a good program?
Better luck next cycleDoes this count
Extremely high tuition, large class and three years. If is the only option, I’d take it, if not, I’d go somewhere elseWhat do people think about BU's program?
don’t they have a 2 year option too?Extremely high tuition, large class and three years. If is the only option, I’d take it, if not, I’d go somewhere else
Not me but I've had 2 friends go through their interview process.don’t they have a 2 year option too?
So many variables. But yes, of course. Won’t be many though. Sometimes if they are interviewing 9-12 candidates for several spots, if people drop out they won’t add more. Sometimes they will. Sometimes they will bring you in at a later custom date if they have had their interview and still need to fill spots. No set of rules. Sometimes they have already accepted a resident before the interview date and you’ll never know. Wild West baby.Is there any chance that Iowa or saint louis or Louisville send other invitations?

Gotta know the right people I’d imagineHow do they accept a resident before the interview date?
Call you in for a private interview before the actual interview date. Or yea, they can verbally promise you a spot if you know them personally. Now that verbal promise doesn’t necessarily come through. So take that with a grain of salt. I personally know examples of all the above. How do they accept a resident before the interview date?
This has happened. In my case, it was someone the PD knows really well, was wanting to do Endo from the first year of dental school and basically spent all their free time in Graduate Endodontics so all their letters of rec came from endodontic faculty WITHIN the post-graduate program. Basically a shoe-in once they apply, since they were being be interviewed by people who wrote their LORs.How do they accept a resident before the interview date?
Any program is worth it if you can get in imo. No point spending a year to reapply for more schools for no guarantees if you really want to do endo. 🤷🏻♂️Is a 2 year 100k per yr endodontic program worth it? Looking at you Nova and UDM
