If they were not going to consider you, they'll take your money and still not consider you. If you don't pay, you won't get considered for sure because your application will be considered incomplete.

I wrote an email and called them. They initiated what they called a search request and they said it takes 7-10 business days. That was 7 business days ago... still nothing.

For anyone applying to Marquette - on their application portal, does anyone's status say "Completed" or anything similar to that? Mine says "Submitted" and I believe everything required has been sent so just wondering if that is the status others are seeing
 
So for Loma Linda, they require official undergrad AND dent school transcripts to even complete the application??

They are on the ADA's list of schools that do require it:

but it doesn't say it anywhere on their website or their ADEA program finder....just that you have to send in your DAT score, which is odd
 
Do programs send out interview invites all at once, or in stages/rounds?

Thank you! I hope you’re right…I’m just worried because I had to retake NBDE 2. Idk if that’s gonna automatically disqualify me from a lot of programs.

Mine still says submitted and believe I have everything in. I haven’t heard anything from them otherwise.
 
I just received an email from Texas A&M about my application being complete even though I submitted their supplemental questions several weeks ago and I've been listed as complete on PASS for over two weeks. So maybe they're starting to looking at apps to send out invites soon?

I got the same email today. Also sounds like we had a similar timeline of app submission. I was looking at previous threads for endo and TAMU normally sent their invites on 6/13 🤷🏽‍♂️. So hopefully today or sometime tomorrow?

Please don't be under the misconception that Ivy League programs are the best out there. Einstein is probably the best program in the country atm because of the reasons mentioned by @princeafrica . AND they have legends like Barnett and Niemczyk on faculty. Congrats to those that even got an interview! Don't be disheartened if you don't make it there. The fact that you got an interview there is a big deal already. Good luck!

I don't think years of experience has anything to do with it. I might be wrong but the general trend that I have noticed at Einstein is that there's usually one military and one legend (or someone with exceptional postgraduate qualifications) in each incoming class. Conebeamguy is definitely one, but there was also Dr Ronald Zapata (currently at the Minneapolis program) who was already a highly published and renowned international speaker in endodontics before he was a resident at Einstein.
As with everything in this ****ty application process, all of the above is also complete speculation. 😉

Harvard is probably the worst deal in grad endo. $100k a year, 3 year program in a saturated city with 2 other endo programs. Very little significant endo research comes out of HSDM, and their faculty are basically all adjunct. Honestly, any 3 year endo program is a bad deal.

Einstein is a unicorn program since it's hospital based. They have all the toys. But there are other programs that have GW and lasers, too. I do think it's weird they're so big on bony lid EMS. Just not that practical IMO.
