Got an interview invitation today: I'm scheduled for October 18th. Anyone else?

I got an interview invite phone call this morning, scheduled for Friday Oct. 26th. Sarah said my options were the 24th, 25th or 26th so it sounded like anything earlier was full.

The email confirmation after that gave the schedule for the day:
8:30 a.m. Welcome and Introductions
9:00 a.m – 11:50 a.m. Applicant Interview Sessions
12:00 p.m. Lunch with Student Ambassadors
12:45 p.m. College Tour
1:45 p.m. Curriculum and Clinical Session
2:00 p.m. Financial Aid Session
2:30 p.m. Questions and Conclusion

Just received an II about 30min ago!!!! Scheduled for October 24th. I am an IS student and my file was marked as complete on October 4th. 3.64 cGPA 3.70sGPA 29 MCAT. Can't wait to visit this campus again although I do drive by it every morning on my way to work haha. Good luck everyone.

There doesn't seem to be much chatter on this thread. Anyone else (esspecially OOS) get II recently and when were you complete? Stats? I was complete 09/10 and still waiting for the notorious phone call.

I'm wondering the same thing, except I'm IS. My file should be marked complete within the next couple of days barring a misdelivery of my DO letter of rec. I'm also wondering what are some of the schools that everyone else applied to? OSU is my first choice but I'll go anywhere that I'm accepted. Though currently, all these other secondary applications are getting annoying.

I am wondering if anyone can remember if the secondary app for OSU-COM specifically asks whether the applicant is IS or OOS, or rather just asked about your ties to the state? I am wondering because I am not sure if OSU-COM will consider me an IS or OOS med student. I grew up in Tulsa for 8 years of my childhood, moved away at 18, and have been in KS for the last 4 years. I AM one year removed from school so one rule says I should lose my OK residency, but on the other hand I am married and my husband is also from OK but is still finishing his degree in KS, so since I'm married to an Okie another rule says I am considered IS.

I hope I am not considered an OOS student, I am getting anxious to hear back from OSU because I would LOVE to go here!
Complete 8/31 (ish)
MCAT 28O
GPA 3.98
(Im)patiently waiting!!

There actually was a part of it that asks if you are are an OK resident I believe. I've lived in OK all my life but went to college in Texas and graduated in 2011. I now live in Dallas but my parents still support me and claim me as a dependent on their tax return.

Anyone have any feedback/thoughts from the 10-18 interview day?

To my in-state peeps who were complete recently: how long did it take to hear back after you received a file complete email? I got the email this morning (I know I'm a little late) and just wanted an estimate of how long I needed to wait.

I was complete on a Friday and got a call the following Monday. This was earlier this month.

Awesome. Your stats are higher than mine but my LORs will hopefully get me in the door...for an interview at least.

You lose residency in the state of Oklahoma if you live out of the state for more than 12 months. To be considered in state you would have to move back to Oklahoma and not go to school for the next year. If you have close family here you can make a strong case for ties to the state, which may help with admissions, but you will still pay OOS tuition.

Anyone else get interview invites recently? If so, when were you marked complete?

I got my call for an interview. On Nov. 16th.

27/3.6/3.5

I was complete in July. I am an in state.

I'm just guessing, but my guess is that the dates complete are of far less significance than your GPA MCAT stats. It looks like admissions Com is interviewing based on decreasing stats. Highest stats first and down from there.
3.95/3.9 31R complete 10/25 will interview before
3.25/3.2 22M
just makes sense to me. Am I far off base?

That's probably a pretty big factor, though I thought rolling admissions meant that they consider each applicant based on when they submitted their app. Also, does anyone know if OSU will give me less preference due to graduating from an out of state college? Besides college, I have lived in OK all my life. I graduated in December of 2011 and now live in Dallas, but my parents who live in OK still support me so they still claim me as a dependent on their tax forms (which I believe is one of the ways to show residency in OK).

I don't think they do anything with them before September, so having an interview in the first few interview sessions I feel is pretty early in the process. I think when they talk about getting your app. in early it is more about not waiting until like January. Rolling admissions refers to accepting people throughout the process, not the order of interview.

Well, good luck on your interview man. Hopefully I'll get an interview invite soon. I don't even care if it's scheduled way into january or february.

Does this school at least like to pull from Arkansas, Texas, NM, Kansas? Rather than say the northwest/northeast?

I heard that they were not doing the bridge program this year, so that will be 8-10 more spots(I think) in this class. Has anyone else heard about this?

I think the students tend to be from OK and the bordering states but I think that's because that is who tends to apply to OSU. They are definitely willing to accept students from other areas (the MS-1 class has a few from CA, IL, etc.)

So I was deep in slumber this morning when I was woken up by a call...I'll be interviewing on November 14th!

Recieved a call for an interview today, it is on Nov 14th!

Does anyone who has interviewed know if OSU has MMI interview portions or just the standard panel interview? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It's a 2 person panel, a faculty member and a local alum. There were two groups of interviewers, half of us had group A (1 faculty, 1 physician) the other half of us had group B (a different faculty member and a different physician). So there were 2 interviews going on at a time, while the rest of us waited we had a conference room to stay in, but we were free to wander about and check out the school. Current students came by the room all morning to talk/answer questions. After all the interviews we had lunch, a tour, and sessions on fin aid and the dual degree programs offered.

OK give up the stats...LOL!

My stats aren't stellar (3.3 sgpa, 3.52 cgpa, 25N mcat) it was most likely my LORs and clinical experience that got me the interview. So just know there is hope haha

So how many people are there interviewing on the same day?

There was supposed to be 8 total at my interview on the 24th of OCT. However, 1 did not show. I would expect anywhere between 6 and 8. Good luck. Anyone accepted yet? They should be coming soon I hope. They said two weeks and it has almost been two weeks for me and definitely two weeks for the people that interviewed OCT 18.

I still haven't heard back and I interviewed on the 18th. I'm starting to get the feeling that I got wait listed.

That's not necessarily a bad thing! I think about half of the class each year was on the waitlist at some point. And they look over applicants every time they have meetings so don't worry and be patient! If you DO start to worry, call up Sarah Quinten and ask if there's anything you can do to improve your application while you wait?

I had a 3 person panel (last year). Just letting you all know so you can prepare in case that happens to you! And I also had about 8 other interviewees on my Interview Day.

Would you mind giving us an idea of what questions they asked? i know they will ask " tell us about yourself". Last year they asked me about healthcare reform and what I thought a doctors role was as a leader in the community.
