Thanks for the update on the class size 🙂Each class is typically around 100 students I believe, the largest I heard of while I was there was around 113 I think?

Has anyone else hard updates?
That is exactly how I feelI've been obsessively checking my email and this forum.. nothing!
I have notHas anyone talked to Krista recently regarding when decisions would be made?
yes if you live off campusSilly question, but does anyone know if we can bring pets?
What time did you get your email ?Just a heads up for those still waiting to hear, I interviewed on the 18th of October and didn't receive my acceptance for fall 2018 until this morning. I will be declining my seat, so hopefully that helps someone on here out!
What time did you get your email ?
I’m sorry... I understand the disappointment. When did you interview?I received my email this morning. It offered VFP. Which is terribly disappointing. I will not be accepting the offer. I'm not sure how students pay for the program but I don't have the money and private loans like Sallie May are very dangerous and a really bad idea. Good luck to everyone.
SGU is cheaper.Just got my acceptance this morning! Now I’ve got choose between sgu and Ross. Any thoughts???
I have heard more positive things about SGU's professor:student ratio. If you are worried about time off, I know you are able to have summers off at SGU but not at Ross. I think at Ross you get a couple of weeks between semesters instead.Just got my acceptance this morning! Now I’ve got choose between sgu and Ross. Any thoughts???
If this is true I'm a bit bothered. Not to be a martyr, but as far as VMCAS applicants go I interviewed extremely early (10/11). I was originally quoted 2 weeks to a decision from SGUs site as well as my interviewer; tomorrow is the beginning of week 19 since the interview. How can the class fill up and I haven't heard anything yet?Fyi, according to Krista fall class is already full with no seats left.

Why don’t they just send denial emails in that case. Do they offer a waiting list.
Just ugh.
SGU is cheaper, out of hurricane belt, school year is more in line with schools back home making it nice for clinics/NAVLE/internships if you're part of fall class.
There is a waiting list for every semester since people do turn down their seats in preference for state-side schools. They will also offer acceptance into the next semester if they like the applicant. For example I applied for Fall, got waitlisted but got accepted for Spring. Then got called off waitlist for Fall.
Congratulations on behalf of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. You have been accepted into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program, commencing on January 11, 2017. We realize that your application was intended for the August 2016 class but, due to an unprecedented increase in the number of competitive applications to the School of Veterinary Medicine, we must start a waitlist. As an accepted student to
the January 2017 class, you have been placed on the waitlist for August 2016. Candidates who wish to remain on the waitlist will be notified as seats become available. Please keep us informed of any change in your address and/or phone number. If a seat becomes available and we cannot contact you within 24 hours, we must contact the next candidate.

I just did my interview and it was so quick! It wasn't even 30 minutes lol I was expecting it to be like an hour long
I think someone posted in here they were denied earlier in the cycle. I have a hard time believing all of the spots are filled already. I interviewed 11/3 and was told I would know by this Friday. I guess I’m just trying to stay positive though...why are they still interviewing if Krista is reporting all the seats are filled.
Has anyone heard of anyone getting a denial this cycle??
Im going into the final pre-vet year, not the first vet med year. So technically im class 2023 , but I don’t think there’s a thread for that class so I decided to post here 🙂why are they still interviewing if Krista is reporting all the seats are filled.
Has anyone heard of anyone getting a denial this cycle??
They do “rolling admissions” which is why they would still be interviewing even if all spots are filled.
Honest opinion of your time in Grenada?
did anyone else have a mini heart attack when that admissions delay email came in today??? ...because i definitely did... LOL
If you don't mind me asking, what did the admissions delay email look like?Yes!! Thought it was a denial!!

Thank you! I also received that email but I had tried to call Krista yesterday just to get an update and left a voicemail. So I thought this email was sent to me individually lol that's why I wanted to double check!
I hope not! That is such a long time. I am hoping they just mean we can make decisions until april! Hopefully we will all hear something soon. At this point I am hoping for a spot in the spring semester since the fall semester may or may not be full!looks like they are saying we can be waiting until after April 15th for a decision
Imo, Ross seems more predatory. From what I understand they are comparatively less invested in retaining students. Cost of tuition is also higher, and while the three year thing sounds great, you have to evaluate whether a trimester is for you. Personally, I think I would feel pretty burnt without time off in the summer. Fwiw a coworker of mine went to Ross and dropped out after the second year (one of my worst nightmares), so at this point I am very Ross averse. I think SGU seems more invested in their students and the campus/island is awesome. I visited last year as a vacation/self tour and it is definitely worth checking it out first if you can afford it. Some cons were evident to me right off the bat: the weather is beautiful but that equatorial sun is really, really fierce (I can't even imagine putting on rubber suits for livestock work there); I'm from a diverse, wealthy metropolitan city and immediately felt the lack of things to do and diverse food/produce. Upsides: the beauty of the place, holy heck. I swam every evening from 5pm until dark and I felt ten years younger by the end. Locals and ex-pat communities seem friendly and the school seems to work beneficially with the island. Most importantly, I really liked the little teaching hospital and local SPCA, which felt intimate. Hope this helps.Just got my acceptance this morning! Now I’ve got choose between sgu and Ross. Update: there is currently a waitlist for fall start. If you haven't heard anything yet there is probably a good chance that you are on the fall waitlist (and therefore automatically accepted for spring 2019 term). There will also be a lot of people called off by the April deadline. Don't lose hope!
How did you find this out? I would rather start spring 2019. Do you know if we come off the wait list for fall are we able to ask for spring start? Just wondering if I should mention to Krista that I would want a spring admit.
I would defiantly go ahead and tell Krista that. It looks like I will be starting the DVM program in January as well. I have been emailing Krista to see what my options are. I was accepted into the Foundations program for fall and wanted to appeal the decision this summer. The email that I received today said that I could appeal the decision, but that the fall class already has a waitlist, and that if you are waitlisted for fall you are automatically accepted into the following springs class. How did you find this out?
