So we have 3 protections apparently happening last night? VMH, WZ, and Snowy (I'm assuming you protected yourself as you are saying). I am concerned that while 2 protector roles might not be super odd, 3 seems a bit far fetched. Unless we are thinking there are protection items floating around. I think Pippy mentioned that she was fairly confident items were involved but this still confuses me to some extent and I'm just not entirely sure what to think about it.

3 roles protecting is definitely far fetched. Even 2 to me seems like a lot. But an item would make up for this. And items have been confirmed as existing at least which is something.

I'm kind of OK with MJ today. I was grumpy at him last night because I'm a grouch when it comes to noob comments, and his reaction was kind of classic MJ temper tantrum. But unless he's a wolf that was given a full cover role with description, I'm comfortable with acknowledging he dropped that role info early and that it is consistent.

I actually protected vmh. I took a chance the wolves wouldn't target me because I said I was going to protect myself. On second thought there are a lot of better ways I could have done yesterday to actually be useful, but I obviously wasn't thinking smart.

I don't know if I've ever played with MJ, but I am conflicted. The exasperated giving up feels like genny last game or AM when they are village. But the condescendingness. I'm not sure about. But I think I agree with Deva on this, his role description D1 is consistant with his role. And if wildebeest was added, I wouldn't be too surprised to see other minor characters.

I would like to hear more from LoTF and Kata today as they both checked in last night, but kata didn't post any comments and LoTF didn't post much content either. I don't know if fluff posts are part of her meta, but that's pretty much all she's posted this game so I would like to hear her top suspicions and why.

I guess wildebeest seems more minor to me than Sarafina, but I also wouldn't have guessed that Places were roles, so anything is possible. So I agree with you on that point.

The condescension is pretty par for the course with MJ. But I'm sure he means it as lovingly as possible. lol.

If it helps, I am not aware of any protective items at this point in time. Definitely doesn't preclude the possibility of one (or more) being out there, but that is not the function of what I mentioned last night.

I moved off of him because of the role claim - it seemed believable and consistent with his earlier statements, so I figured it was at least worth giving someone the chance to contest it in case it was a fake claim.

The only thing giving me pause is that his role claim now seems pretty consistent with an early-game post regarding his role description (see Zen's post). He's definitely acting no differently from his usual wolf behavior though, so aaaagh. I would've remained parked there today.

I guess I don't entirely understand why having consistency in a role claim is more village than wolf (imo role consistency is kind of a neutral thing and doesn't lean someone one way or the other for me). It's easy for a wolf to toss out on thread that their role is minor, and also easy for them to pick a cover role early in the game and just roll with it. I was getting thrown by the Sarafina claim because she's just a very minor character and only had like one line in the whole movie.

I don't know if wildebeests are super minor. While there aren't any named wildebeests in the movies, I'm sure that everyone vividly recalls the scene in the movie where the wildebeests trample Mufasa to death

You can't really compare one person's village or wolf attitude to another. So the comparison to genny or AM means next to nothing.
MJ's behavior last night was consistent with MJ's wolf behavior. 100%. However, I can't 100% say that it is inconsistent with his village behavior...just that in recent memory that tone has happened when he's being lynched as a wolf. Will have to hunt down the last few times he was lynched as a villager.

Hell I can't even find the last time he was lynched as a villager.

It's okay. Lynching me just takes away one of my few pleasurable distractions, leaving me with little to keep me from the tedious, drudgery-laden mess that is my life.

I've played with him for 3 years and I refuse to believe that I'll ever be able to accurately read him. Besides that, he plays much differently now than he used to. That's why I didn't go back any further than a year. Unfortunately the village MJ data in the last couple months is nonexistent.

I honestly don't want everyone to just rely on my read of the situation so please, have your own thoughts and opinions and discuss other options.

I was curious as to why Kcough wasn't a kill the previous night. It's a PM lite game so she kind of gave herself away outing Lupes. Why LIS instead?

The night kills are also curious, no noobs have been killed. It also looks like my idea of non-animal kills is out

That's usually my strategy. Once noobs outnumber experienced players, it becomes easy to turn noobs on the old players by pretending you've got a good read on them. Which makes me think it's someone that plays like me. Which makes me want to lynch WZ. I've also had other feels, but hey, I can never read you as well as I'd like.

I was protected again last night, same message as before.

They probably figured she would be protected, which she should have been every night. Side eyeing both apparent protectors real hard, even though I don't know the identity of the second...
Makes sense for the wolves to wait and try her on a double kill night so they at least wouldn't go a night without a kill if she was protected.

Also, if they do have EON extra kill as it seems, two protectors makes me slightly less suspicious. The second one might even be EON, I don't think anyone else said they were protected n2.

This, wtf protectors??? And, no, second one, if there is, don't out yourself.

It's funny, while reading through today I was getting feels on kata and thought it was odd that no one else seemed to be noticing it.

I'm torn on the MJ issue. Honestly the fact that WZ feels he's wolfy makes me think he's less wolfy since she is usually wrong about him. I see what everyone is seeing, and I agree he could have either started with a cover role or lucked out on picking that role. For now I'll put my vote elsewhere.

And then, I am behind, so if something has changed forgive me but I basically read the whole MJ thing as a 50/50 bet.

I don't see the kills being quite consistent with him, but I know he may not be contributing behind the scenes as much as he used to if his interactions are pretty consistent across SDN so a bunch of young wolves with him might be just trying to pick off people who intimidate them.

Serafina could easily be real, but would also be a pretty safe grab for a cover role. So I am waiting on a hint either way.
