Is the portal everyone is talking about the one we set up for midwestern? And if so I can’t seem to remember if we set our own username and password or if they picked it?? Could someone please help me out, thanks!

Yeah the one on their site is where the checklist shows up. They are also calling people too. I got my call from Dr. Pashayan about 30 minutes ago.

My portal has updated with the checklist but no phone call or email. Based on last year I'm assuming this is still a form of acceptance?

Same for me. Portal update, but no phone call or email. Does this still "count"?
 
Got excepted yesterday morning by phone call and email confirmation this morning. I will be put down my deposit, this is my dream school
 
Can any current students talk about residency placements? I keep reading that it does not matter where you attend dental school - you can specialize from any school. Do you know if the MWU-AZ students who want to specialize typically gain admittance to programs?

Anyone know if they're done with acceptances? My portal never changed and I've heard nothing, so I'm kind of out of the loop about what happens next.

A lot of people will decline their acceptance in favor of cheaper schools. Don't worry, Midwestern will being handing out acceptances for the next few months
 
Sorry if I missed this previously.... does MWU offer any scholarships? If so, are any offered soon after acceptance? UKY and UCLA offered small scholarships, and I am wondering if I will hear something from MWU as well.

They don't really have a lot for scholarships. You can apply for things like the witche scholarship if your from a witche state. But they don't have scholarships (to my knowledge) like what the other schools are offering.

I am pretty sure you have to pay. If you are like myself, and only paying for arizonas consent, my cc was charged $47 not the entire $150!

I am highly debating between midwestern and other schools. For those who already confirmed their attendances, can you tell me why you chose this school despite high $$?

One of the dentists I shadowed was an alumni from here. When I talked to his associates they both agreed that he came out of school highly capable and skilled. I feel it prepares you well to transition straight out of school for your career path since you have the opportunity to perform so many different procedures, such as implants. Also, when I visited I did a lot of observing. The students and faculty were always smiling and seemed to enjoy being there. The way a professor would help a student in lab was so much kinder than i saw anywhere else. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the camaraderie everyone had.
 
just got waitlisted for interview... submitted my app 12/3 and my secondary 12/4... got the email this morning
 
for the interviews, is there any additional documents that we need to bring? cause for the interviews I've done, I've always had to bring some supplementary stuff the day of the interview.

Nope, I didn't have to bring any additional documents to the interview.

It's really relaxed, two faculty members and a student. My advice is to know your strengths and practice situational questions. Don't be afraid to take time to answer, I felt like pausing and not answering the first thing that came to my mind helped.
 
Accepted and will be attending! My first and last interview. Declining interview offers from MWU-IL, Case, and UNE. So pumped to be a part of the class of 2023!
 
Hi everyone! I did my interview on 12/17 and checked my portal this morning of 12/18 and I see that I'm updated to the Accepted Student Checklist with Matriculation info. However, I have not received the call yet or an email. Does this mean I'm accepted? Thank you!

I also interviewed on monday 12/17, my portal is still the same so I would probably assume that its real if you're seeing it. So congrats!🙂
Hopefully we others hear back soon as well. Very anxious!

I'm sure they'll get to everyone soon so don't be discouraged! I'm skeptical still so I won't believe it until I get a call or email haha! Thank you! I'm gonna enjoy acceptance via portal as it meaning it's real! Please update me if you hear anything back because I hope we'll be future classmates 🙂 I'm Kathy btw if you remember me!

Here's what I see from my portal. Is this the right area to check? Yeah, it looks like I haven't gotten any feedback yet from the adcoms. Fingers crossed!

You probably remember me as that crazy woman who makes everyone "power pose" before interviews haha!! Yes that is the correct place to check! If you get accepted, yours should show the $200 deposit fee along with required documents, transcripts, and prerequisites. Hopefully you hear back soon, best of luck! Keep on checking, I have my fingers crossed for you too 🙂
 
I interviewed Oct 25th and the other day I emailed admissions to check on my status. They emailed and said my application would be reviewed in January and I would know my status...what does this mean? Is this like a waitlist? Anyone else with this experience?

I would take that as an acceptance. I found out through portal on the 3rd and got an email and a call a day later.
 
Hello Guys! I placed $200 deposit, filled out the background check online, received the official formal acceptance snail mail, have school sent transcripts to MWU-AZ ... Any current student please advise what else or any guidance that I needed to do torward complete admission?
Also any offers for scholarships?
This is my dream school, I've dropped offers from UoP, USC and WesternU due to how advance in technology, curriculums and living environment in Arizona so much cheaper and better then San Fransico, Pomona and LA.

I read previously that MWU does not give out any (or many?) scholarships. Is this true?
 
Interviewed on 12/18 and was accepted during my interview! It was literally surreal, I kept asking them if they were serious :laugh:
MWU said that they give scholarships after the 1st year, but they didn't share too many details on applying for those.
