Anybody signing up to summer e anatomy

I 100% recommend it! We had the option of for-credit, and not-for-credit. Take the cheaper non-credit option! In fact the credited option is bad since it puts too much pressure. But the noncredit course itself eases you into med school, lightens up the first months of med class since you're seeing the anatomy material for a second time, and you get to meet more people and make a bigger social circle.

I would not recommend summer anatomy if you're finishing undergrad/masters/etc just a week or two before summer anatomy. Make sure to have a very solid vacation before school begins. By December of first year, everyone will be zombies. You dont want to risk burning out prior to that.

Anyone registered for classes yet? I can't access the portal yet on my phone.
Anyone know what time classes are?

Can someone send me the link to login into TouroCOM's email? (if its in the portal...where in the portal? i cant find it =/ )

Possibly an idiotic question but in the interview confirmation email it says "Please arrive no more than ten minutes before your Check- in time." I took that to mean arrive no earlier than 8:50(for a 9 am interview), but every other school I interviewed at said be at least 10 minutes early(as in arrive no later than 8:50) and I am wondering if that is what they were going for.

I took it literally as dont show up at 8:30. I think I got there a little earlier than they said anyway because its impossible to time it perfectly when you're taking a cab across the city. I think I got there are like 8:40. They have breakfast and coffee and tea for you and you will just hang out in a room and wait for it to start.

Any more II recently? I was complete last month and still waiting. Anyone knows how late an interview can be?

II yesterday! Complete 11/10. LizzyM 65. Available interview dates were all for next week. I'll be turning this down since I've been accepted elsewhere. Hope it goes to one of you!
Thank you! It appears the people don't have much time to prepare for an interview? So rush. Congrats!

II just now! Hope my prayer works.. The available time slots are Feb 22 thru Mar 14. My Lizzy 65. Very very non-traditional foreign applicant.

Does anybody know the what the schedule is for classes. What time you start class everyday

Question for accepted students: do they let you pay the deposit via credit card?

Anxious waiting to hear post interview. I really loved this school. It had basically everything I want in a medical school.

Same, when I first saw the school from the outside I was like "wut?". Interview day completely sold me though. The most telling thing for me was that the students that spoke to us were 100% cool with speaking about what they felt were the weaknesses of the school in front of the faculy and admissions administrators. That was not the case at my other interviews. In general everyone seemed happy to be there.

Hi, could you share some experience for the interview? Like the format, questions and something noteworthy? Thank you!

9:00AM - 2:00 PMish. Very laid back day mostly hanging out in one conference room and talking to current students. A few presentations with breakfast and lunch provided. Interview is two faculty members across the table from you, open file, fairly conversational. Typical interview questions ( e.g. Why DO) and then several that are applicant specific (tell me about the research you do, community service etc...). Day ended with a tour. Students that you meet are extremely open and honest about the pros and cons of the school. They were even saying some negative things in front of top admin people. Seemed like a very open environment and they give you a good feel for what it will be like.

Just wanted to add something about my experience that was different from @TUVIX ... My interviewers played "good cop, bad cop" so it was a more high-stress, intense type interview. If you have this type of interview just make sure you address their questions and it'll be fine

Yes I did hear that as well from some other interviewees.

Does Touro-COM Harlem accept post interview LOI's (before any decision is made)? Absolutely loved this place and want them to know they're my top choice. Maybe a current student can offer some input? Thanks

I wouldn't do it. I mean it probably couldn't hurt but probably won't have any impact. Let them make their decision. If they waitlist you then definitely send one. Believe me I'm in the same spot. Hope we are classmates!

If they waitlist me then I'd definitely send one. What if they flat out reject though? Won't have a chance to send one then. And yes, hope we both get in!!!!!

If they reject you its not like q loi would change their mind. FTR I'm also in the same position, I want to go here pretty badly. We just have to wait it out.

The

they told me that there are a good amount of seats left and that they are also starting to build their alternate list.

Good to know there are still seats left. Also they told my group that they took around 50% of the waitlist the last 2 years, so getting waitlisted isnt a death sentence here.

So they really were not joking on interview day when they told us to wait 4-6 weeks before hearing back. It's been 3 weeks and the stress hormones from the wait are slowly corroding my internal organs...

Bad cop question:"you have really good grades. But what happened with your mcat?" I thought I was gonna die when the bad cop asked me that question...

Lol I got the same question and my MCAT is decent(509+), kinda threw me off guard because everyone here told me not to retake but I think they were mostly concerned about a low subsection score. So if you have an unbalanced mcat be prepared to explain.

I took them literally. Most schools have been pretty good about sticking with their projected time frame for an answer.

I actually did get one question about grades. I don't really take this to be "bad cop" though. It's a legitimate question if they have a concern. But, I think in this situation they are really just looking to see how you handle it more so than a good explanation. If you were invited for an interview then they are ok with your grades and MCAT score or you wouldn't be there.

@Narsong @varens1 @TUVIX

my "bad-cop" experience was more rapid fire intense questioning.... I did think the interview went well though
The sad part is that you can never tell if you will get in or not based on interview. Your interviewers eventually will recommend you but the ultimate decision pertains to the dean. .

Yea I think you never know.

Hopefully they send out some acceptance emails tomorrow, based on previous posts they seem to send them out on Fridays

How do we do a background check? there is no information about this in the acceptance e-mails.

They ask such things as if they are looking for 35+...LOL

I think they do though. Students that have been accepted and posted stuff here for the most part have crappy GPA and really high mcats... Which makes me feel like I'm screwed cuz I'm the total opposite.

Can anyone tell me the exact names of the health documents we are supposed to download? The "next steps" email isn't very clear and I don't want to send the wrong thing
