A little late in posting this (finally ended my lurking habit 🙄), but I received an interview invite circa Aug 20th and I signed up for the Oct 4th date. The school and location both look really good and I'm looking forward to the interview!

II, I chose oct 15 so I can do azcom and tun with the same flight from Florida!
 
Finally received a secondary, but they said I am one course short in the Behavioral Sciences requirement 🙁 I have a million social sciences courses but only one behavioral science course. I didn't think it was common for people to take any behavioral science courses besides psychology (which I have taken). What behavioral science courses did you guys take?

Sociocultural Anthropology, Psychology, Criminology...

The UCs pretty much force you to take at least 3.

P.S. I'll be interviewing here in October.

did they send you a seperate email to tell you this?

II today! Never got a complete email but submitted my supplemental 8/14

To those that already scheduled interviews, can you tell us what dates they offered?
 
Did you guys fill out the references part of this secondary? It says "For programs that do not require letters of recommendation ONLY." Is this a typo?

Also, did you guys attach a resume or CV? The spaces provided is this much l<->l.

Edit: Called and asked. They said it's not a typo.

Update on my "lack of behavioral sciences" situation. They sent me that notification in the same email as my secondary invite. I emailed them asking if a Philosophy course would fulfill the requirement and in the email they said I need to submit my secondary before they will consider the course. This is messed up! They probably just want me to pay the secondary fee before telling me my course will not fulfill the requirement.

I had the same email. I'm not sure if I'm going to schedule the interview or not. But i'm definitely not going to take a psych class just to go here. I have philosophy too...ethics, existentialism. Hopefully they will accept something like that. Too bad they wouldn't answer your question.

You should ask this question on phone instead of email. I would ask for an admissions counselor.
 
other than AZCOM, none of the schools in/near CA have shown me any love. Come on ii!!

Oh I did that first. The gentleman was very abrupt when I asked, he just said No. He had nothing else to offer me lol but thats why I didnt trust his answer. I needed to speak with someone who actually knew what they were talking about, and could offer some advice or work with me to find a solution to my problem. I am definitely not impressed with the admissions department of this school. Nonetheless, good luck to all you applying! The school itself seems great. I do not think I will be completing this secondary.
 
Interview invite here this morning! Good thing airfare from California to Las Vegas is inexpensive; otherwise, I would skip this interview!

Sorry, just saw this.... No completion email, just the secondary email, then about a month later, the invite.

They are pretty backed up, ie moving slow and steady, but this schools worth a good wait.

Hey Guys,

So in the email I got from them with the secondary .pdf attached, I got no instructions on how to submit it... no address no fax #....

The entire email was about how I only have 3 credits of English! 🙄

What's the fax number you guys have been using?

hehe,, why is this school a good wait? do you guys know what their clinical years are like? I am assuming that it will be awesome since this is the only med school in this are.
 
anyone know how much the taxi fee will be from the airport to the touro campus?

rent a car or take a taxi? flying in and out just for a day

I have had two friends attend this school...one done and one in 3rd year. Good stuff all around to be said. Great 3-4 year clinical's, and some cool new residencies available too. Also, I like the area.

I think renting is almost always cheaper...

This school is terrible at communicating with its applicants. Every time I call, it goes straight to the machine. I left a detailed message and nobody ever got back to me. Same with all the emails I have sent. There is no online portal so I would have really liked to find out if they have received everything and what my status is. :bang:

opss! thats what I meant. Not only is there a deposit, but you are paying almost $20-30 extra per day in addition to the rental charges.Never thought I would be complaining about being young. haha🙂
Still, in some situations, this can be cheaper than a taxi. For instance, I have do drive down from Tampa to Bradenton, which is an hours away (w/o traffic) then drive from the hotel to the school then back to Tampa. A taxi would have cost much, much more.

Hope you get ahold of the school btw. I have actually spoken with their office a couple times this season, and while I get the feeling that they are pretty busy, I have always gotten through.

Maybe its a bad week for them
 
So what is the turn around time looking like from AACOMAS being released to getting a secondary? TUNCOM is the only school I have yet to hear a peep from, and it's pretty high on my list of schools...

this was one of the last secondaries I received. My app was released mid july and got the secondary early August.. Considering they have much more # of apps to deal with now, I am guessing the wait time should be even longer.

I just received their "MCAT too low" email and had to reply to have them reopen my file. AACOMAS released the day before they received my new MCAT. LoL, go figure. Hopefully they'll get the secondary to me pretty soon considering AACOMAS re-released with the new score yesterday. Keep us posted NurWollen. Wir rooting für ya. 🙂
 
Best thing about this school: being in the same city as zdoggmd.

cGPA 3.1ish, sGPA 3.0, 32Q, not many ECs, but 2+ years working full time with direct patient contact in a county hospital; submitted secondary 7/19, ii 8/20, interview scheduled 10/4
 
If anyone is interviewing on Oct 30th, please PM me......trying to see if people want to split costs on either a hotel, rental car, shuttle, or just hang out in vegas after...might as well right?
 
finally someone picked up the phone. The lady said coincidentally my file is sitting right in front of her on the table as we speak. I don't know what to think of this perfect timing..haha😀

Hey Congrats!

This also makes me feel pretty good... I have almost the exact same stats and work exp 🙂
