Has anyone who used Interfolio to snail mail their LOR's to TUCOM been verified that they have been received??
Not yet.Has anyone who used Interfolio to snail mail their LOR's to TUCOM been verified that they have been received??
its also mostly because touro interviews and accepts people with higher mcat scores early in the app year, so that once they are accepted they either pull out from everywhere else or wait for other schools (like md for instance)--if they dont get in they are part of the class and part of that high mcat avg
That's not what he/she means... the op was saying that people with higher MCAT scores are admitted early on in the application season with the hope that that they will commit to Touro before they can wait to hear back elsewhere.Really? That seems really misleading. I mean if it's true, that's good news for me. But somehow I don't think they would average in mcat scores of students who don't actually attend.
got my complete email today.
Where is release date indicated please?
I have been complete since July 15th and I haven't received an ii. Looking at last years thread I think we have another 2 weeks before they start sending them out.
got an email today that my touro college e-bill statement is ready, did anyone else get this? Have no idea what it's for.
Essays are almost finished, but these other questions are killing me!
15. EXPLAIN WHY YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO APPLY TO TOURO UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE: (4lines)
16. WHY SHOULD THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE ACCEPT YOU INTO THIS YEAR'S CLASS?
I condensed mine into the 4 lines provided. Hope this doesn't eliminate me from the running.I talked with the admissions office, and they said to attach an additional word doc...saying all that in 4 lines would be madness!

Any students currently attending around? I'd really like to hear more about the environment, quality of education, etc. without all the hype.
Does the volunteer experience section on the secondary include shadowing experiences?

If you want to live in the Bay Area, this is your school. It is whatever you make of it. The students and faculty are nice people. The OMM and doctoring aspect of the education are superb. The boards material (ie. pathology), while they do teach it to you, is best learned on your own with UWorld subscription.
If you are a single male, there are many pharmacy girls who are available to pick from and build a family with. There are also PAs and MPH students. Most of the med students are taken in the beginning, but lots do break up and will be for the taking eventually. 4th year is the time when much of the class has their babies.
We also have very active sports activity in basketball and ping pong. Also some badminton and volleyball. There is an excellent (and cheap) golf course right next to the school.
The reason I attended Touro was because there is an opportunity to stay in SoCal for rotations and residency for a lot of competitive specialties. As a DO, you must develop the right connections to get into competitive specialties, and Touro provides a way.
Any reason to pick Touro over Western? Other than Bay>Pomona?
I don't think this is true... unless something has changed since I was in preclinical years.I was reading on the Touro website about a laptop requirement. It sounds like you can't have a Mac. Does anyone know anything about this?
