Debating whether or not to complete this secondary. UT resident 3.67cGPA/3.57sGPA 506 MCAT Good LOR, 45 hours shadowing, 200 clinical and 600 nonclinical volunteering.
 
"Describe your particular interest in attending UNECOM and any contact you have had with UNECOM students, alumni, faculty or clinicians, admissions counselors, student affairs staff, etc. How did these interactions influence your decision to apply?"

I have no idea how to answer this question. I'm not from the area and have no contact with UNECOM in any aspects. It seems like this school really looks for students who have connections with them.

For those that are completing secondaries, how many schools did you specify that you're applying to? I'm kind of scared because I'm applying to 26 schools with about half MD and half DO, but I'm hoping this school won't potentially reject me because I don't appear to be wholly invested in DO or I'm applying to too many schools or something. 🙁
 
I have AP credit for all my prerequisites and they do not take upper-level courses as replacement. That is a properly stupid policy.

Be easy- they haven't even started looking at applications yet. Supposedly are going to begin gearing up for our cycle in mid August. Historically, first II go out in late August. Unecom is a bit slower compared to other school.

What is meant by this: How many medical schools have you applied to this application cycle? *

They then ask how many osteopathic medical schools.

Do they meant to say allopathic with their first question?

Or, as I initially perceived it:

Total medical schools?

Which are osteo?

Well not officially but when I called to submit my payment I confirmed with them that it was complete and they send me an email saying my payment has gone through and my application is now under review. I can't wait to here back either!
 
Secondary and payment submitted July 21st and then got an email saying they process the payment the 22nd
 
Got an email on the 31st said payment complete and application is now under review. Kinda suspicious if the "under review" is part of the cliche thank you note.
Can anyone confirm if applicants will get complete email regarding the application materials?

I got two separate emails. The one for payment said thank you for payment and that my app's under review, but then I got one the next day saying that all the materials have been received and the file is now complete and under review.

Got an email saying LOR have been received and my application officially completed! Guess there were two emails!
 
Application complete. Now we wait.

quick question, will they take anthropology for psy requirement.... trying to drop this psych class in the fall???
 
wait, they really ask how many other schools you applied to? that's really off putting to me as someone who applied broadly ...somewhat excessively

Is this required or optional to respond to?

I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. I've heard they will reject applicants if they think they're being used as a "back-up" instead of showing legitimate interest.
 
@Ahii that's what I've heard too, I mean if they're asking it they probably are for that reason..

I don't think it's enough to necessarily keep you from getting an interview, though, either. They will judge your interest by your secondary essays and the competitiveness of the other schools applied to, your location, etc. They take a lot into consideration so generally one or 2 things isn't enough to be an issue in the grand scheme.
 
I could not be more antsy about hearing back from UNECOM! 🤣It'd be awesome if they sent out the first batch of interviews by Friday

100% honest. It really DOESN'T matter. Unless you have such a high number that you look like you don't know what you're doing...

I was actually screened pre-secondary, though it was a mistake and une was really good about it.

90 credit hours
All prereqs
Minimum gpa
Minimum mcat 18,488
 
I just received a secondary 🙂 primary verified 7/31

In the email, they said they resent secondaries because some people who were supposed to receive secondaries didn't (like me I guess 🙁)
 
Top choice right here. Just submitted secondary. Fingers crossed 1 million times for this school
