I interview in one week, on the 9th! Thanks for all the info guys, I had read those posts on last years threads too.....and I am hoping I am not just interviewing for a spot on the waitlist, but I know that may be true. Keeping my fingers crossed and SO excited to go to Texas 😀

It seems they will probably do more prematches next week, which is Dec 12th. I think that is the closest day to the rumored 15th of part 2. I haven't heard back from them since I called yesterday so maybe I can ask that as well. I hope they aren't sworn to secrecy or anything.

No, I just got a letter and an agreement to sign and send back. No date was specified to send it back by though.

if it was my best bet, I would think that the next pre-matches come on the 12th or 15th since they are proabably going to need time to decide how many more prematches to hand out after they get notification from those who commit or decline to TCOM

i'm trying my best not to hope (at least not too hard) for anything at anytime to save myself from feeling any greater disappointments than necessary. ah this whole applying to med school thing is so psychologically exhausting! 😛 nonetheless, it would be nice to hear some good news tomorrow but for some reason i'm doubting it won't be until end of next week or the beginning of the week after that when there'll be some action.

Does anyone know how many pre-match offers TCOM will be giving?

When I was there in October, Mike Kennedy (the guy that gave the presentation) stated that they did not know what their plans were.

Not sure nontrad. I think he also said something about their process being a little slower than normal this year because of the whole TMDSAS and UTMB/Houston falling a little behind in their season. I think they may be using the match more, then... I mean I want good news fast (as does everyone else)!

In looking back to last year's thread there were pre-match acceptances handed out on 10/15, 11/14, 12/4, and 12/20. We seem to know there are no pre-match acceptances for IS during the month of January.

oooh that's both scary and exciting if they stay close to those dates...😱
I'll be checking like a madman around 12/4!

Actually, to bring this up, there might be good news as of tomorrow for some people. Either that or they intend to save the 12/12 day as their only day.

If the italicized part holds true, that means there could be two chances for good news before they seal things away for the match 😱

hahaha. yeah i'm constantly scared throughout this whole process. i tried asking them via the phone when the next pre-matches would be and they said they didn't have a definitive date. so i guess it could technically be whenever. sigh, who knows...😕

Another user on here that was OOS may receive one in the future, but it might be an error. I don't think they'll send any out before the match.

I think if you look at the last thread, they just talk about how around the end of December, they change everyone's status (who haven't gotten an offer) to basically 'Wait until match day'.

I didn't get any change either. Maybe the 12th is the only other day until the end...

I use the 817-735-2204 which was posted earlier, and when I call it's usually around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and someone always answers. But other than that number and the 800 number, I don't know of any other ones.

Yeah, that number worked but it led to a voice mailbox. The 800 # seems like a dead end number, so I'm expecting a response. I think I'll give them another call soon.

Good luck!!! I am sure that you will love it, I know I did. Its very laid back. I hope you get the same vibe I did because by the end of the day I was ready to go sit in on class. When you tour the anatomy lab, try not to be overwhelmed by the anatomy professor if he is in there because he was a little intense, but nevertheless with him as your teacher, I'm sure you will learn everything you need.

If you get in at a decent hour tomorrow (I'm assuming that your interview is on Tuesday), you should go check out the Amon Carter Museum if you are into art. It is literally right next to the school and they had some nice exhibits. Or go checkout the stockyards. Sorry for all the suggestions, but I am an OOS applicant also so I tried to go check out some of the attractions that were nearby so I could get a better feeling for the city and Texas since I had never even been to Texas before.

Megan, why did you say that it's possible/probable that we are interviewing as a spot on the waitlist? I interviewed Friday and am also OOS. So I am wondering, why do you say that? I thought they haven't extended all offers to OOS'ers yet.. now I am worried. Please let me know!

Chromosome, I just said that I hope I was not interviewing for a spot on the waitlist because in last years thread it looked like a couple of OOS'ers that interviewed later in the season were interviewing after all spots were filled for OOS, but they also said that they were informed of this at the interview....I am also hoping that not all OOS seats are filled. How did your interview go???

I was actually planning on asking them this too when I called later today. I believe they receive input from the current class, but it would be nice to get most of the opinions from the class to be. I know I'm not in yet, but I would love to give some advice on this.

All I can hope is that 2013 does not receive a Dell. I have a vendetta against Dell and they might've had a decent tablet in the past 2 years, there is better now. I just hope they're willing to shell out a little extra for the quality (Fujitsu, Lenovo).

Yes, the My UNT page for HSC Admissions changed from "Under Review" to "Congratulations on your acceptance! A letter has been mailed... etc." If my memory serves correctly, I think a new link also popped up for Financial Aid on the same page that has the link for 'HSC Admissions'.

You're right - the heading of "Financial Aid - HSC" has been there already... however, I noticed today a new link under it that says 'Scholarship Application - HSC', though I could have missed that before.
