It wasn't relevant to what I was responding to, which was your comment about me asking her for more info. I didn't "gloss over" anything, and you starting to freak out a bit at me for something as dumb as that makes me squint at you a bit, tbh. You're starting to act like someone peed in your coffee this morning ☕

But since you're asking, I still think the inconsistencies are sketchy. I still think her first D1 post that I mentioned earlier was sketchy. The weaker incoherency of the tone of her responses to STL are sketchy. Her claiming an ability doesn't change any of that. But she is one of those people who I have stylistically clashed with a little bit in the past (see that same .ww game she's mentioning as evidence if you're curious), and given that she says she can prove the ability, I'd rather test that than my feels at this time.

Make sense?

This. This is the type of sentence that makes me gut grumble. There shouldn't even be that thought in my mind as a villager, because it wouldn't be a question that you proved yourself.

I'm actually curious about your thought process here. Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but I feel like you've been more on board with this kind of thing in the past. Is it just the wording in this case that's bugging you, or the whole premise?

I'm on my hands and knees to try and convince you to give me a chance. And IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THAT TOMORROW, LYNCH ME THEN. Or if someone has any better information, then we can catch a real wolf. I'm trying to give myself time because I KNOW I'm innocent, and you people don't. I want to catch wolves, and I want to play WW. I don't want to be lynched. What else can I offer you besides the opportunity to kill me if you're not satisfied?

It is the initial defense she put up. I think it was a huge whoops to use she wouldn't kill jojo on his first game back in a while as proof she couldn't be a wolf, only to have to admit she didn't have a clue that was the case. I am not willing to risk her being a wolf trying to use this prove ability ploy because the read is too strong. I am always for it if I don't have enough to put someone into a questionable category. It isn't the case here.

When you were first asked, you initially said you didn't know rojo had been gone from WW. Over time, that story changed to you didn't know he had been in retirement, but you knew he hadn't played the last few games. A villager wouldn't have a changing story like that, because it wouldn't be a story, it would be the truth. A villager would stand by a statement that made them look bad, because villagers do make mistakes. Only a wolf would feel the need to alter something as trivial as that, to make themselves look better.

Well if you were a wolf, one night could hurt by an added conversion if you are the converter, an added kill if you are an even night killer, a Wolfy item if you are a wolf tinkerer, a lynch svoidance if you are the lawyer, a block of a villager if you are a blocker, a guaranteed kill if you are a strongman, etc.

By saying you have a role ability you have already placed a target on your back if you are not a wolf. Seering/tracking type roles are often not revealed to the user, so you can't bank on that. And tje ability doesn't indicate if someone is a villager. If you are claiming protector, you have entered into a cat and mouse game with the wolves the rest of the game (and it's not 100% that the person is a villager nonetheless) Blocking does not indicate at all villager status. If you can cancel a night, just say that and we will watch night be cancelled tomorrow. Pm ability wouldn't indicate wolf vs. villager. Resurrection could be useful, and if you had that wolves would be in a conundrum, as they could either try and kill you knowing you would likely be protected, try and indefinitely block you which would put that the blocker is a wolf if they have a blocker, or convert you knowing you will be investigated. I could keep going on with the list, but the point is that once you say "I have an ability", the damage is already done, especially if you are saying its able to be demonstrated.

Have you done any discussion about other people in the game that you think are off other than a quick blurb on MMM? Have you proven a pattern of my tunneling on you?

Usually, for someone to "prove" their ability, they have a PM partner they disclose to, who can then vouch for them tomorrow. How exactly do you prove it in a game with no group PMs?

I haven't played WW with him in the last few games that I can remember. Therefor, knowing he hasn't played in a while but not thinking he hasn't played for a LONG while (aka, retirement)

What else did you suggest I do to defend myself STL? Besides telling you what I've been telling you all day? I haven't gone through to analyze people yet besides feels because I've been trying to not get lynched.

I haven't gotten that far yet. I figured if I could last another night and tell you what happens you'd believe me. And then maybe I could be protected after that.

sorry moo. I mean, I am willing to listen to your cases on other people and consider them if you make a good point, but I can't shake the wrongness you put off in your opening today. Maybe it was a villager mistake, and I will add it to my stats of reading people wrong for that kind of statement, but I can't recall ever being wrong on someone with that blatant a lie before.

This was basically my thought process. I can't think of a way that hmoo could definitively prove her ability (and villager status) and also remain an asset to the village, but I can think of a lot of reasons a wolf would want to stick around one more night.
 
I'm going to feel really bad if not a wolf, but the wanting to prove an ability with no plan for how to prove that ability is enough to put me over the edge.

I WILL be able to prove it, if you let me. If I'm going to say it tomorrow, I might as well say it now... I'd rather be wolf killed than killed by MY OWN PEOPLE. I'm an elephant. An elephant who never forgets, I'm basically a reverse tracker. I figured someone would do something to me and I could say on the thread that SO AND SO did something to me without revealing what they did. Sorry I suck at WW, but at least I'm trying unlike the few people who haven't contributed s*** so far.

I am always suspicious of players who are silent. That's the easiest way to sneak by. LIS hasn't said anything besides throwing out random votes. I am sketched out by nohika who hasn't said much either, only voted for Jil "cause she can", (who is the one person I actually feel confident is village). And finnick. Literally 5 post and the first one was a throw away vote.

To be honest... none of that is abnormal for those players. LIS doesn't say things until he is off work or has time, then he posts a **** ton at once.
Nohika doesn't tend to say much unless necessary.
And Finn tends to be quiet as well.

Yes, makes it hard to read people, but this isn't abnormal for them. Of the 3, LIS should start posting more when he has the time just have to be patient for the LeTits Dump of Reads.
 
Looking through that game, hmoo was super quiet all game attributing it to actual real life stuff (where she apologized on thread to trilt about t after death). Not a good data point because activity was minimal. Did claim a compelling role and got a couple of people to switch off, but in the end got lynched. In that game she quoted role from trilt.

Reverse tracking is an interesting claim with elephant, would have expected something with more of a memory function. Also, saying that "I got blocked" or "I got _____" is self explanatory if people can see that that happened to them without the role. Hmoo, care to elaborate more on the role?

I'm a bit unsure of whether to take your word on this or not. Specifically because of the "an elephant never forgets" portion. I know in the trout's noob circus game, this exact same wording was used for the elephant, which COULD have been carried over to this game since cdo was playing that game and designed this one and trout is pseudomodding this one, but it could also just be looking back in the noob circus spreadsheet for something that sounds believable for an elephant to make up a fake claim. The elephant in that game wasn't a reverse tracker, so if you were looking for a fake role claim, you didn't copy completely, which could be to make your claim more believable, or an elephant reverse tracker COULD actually be your role and cdo just stole that bit of wording from that game.

Originally I was on Team Let-Hmoo-Prove-Her-Ability, but I'm a bit more concerned now because you said "let me prove my ability" but then said you didn't even have a plan for doing so...

so in 12 pages of the game, no one has actually said anything you think is sketchy? only the quiet people are suspicious?

It is a memory function lol. I "don't forget" what has been done to me, so I know the name of whoever has done what to me. For example: you've been seered by STL. No one has done anything to me yet so I don't know the exact working the mods would use.

No, genius. I was hoping for another night becuse I'm a villager and don't want to die. I know someone is going to do something to me, probably block, so I can see the name of who did it.

I mean, I feel like getting told the name and ability of someone who visits you would be a pretty powerful ability and essentially functions as a seer itself, not really a reverse tracker IMO

Isn't reverse tracker a lot more common as village?

Although it would actually be a pretty good ploy to try to get all actions thrown at her tonight, then be able to feed all that info back to the pack before she got lynched.

I'm kind of torn here on whether to switch back, because my early reads are typically my best reads, and I had more wolf marks for hmoo than anyone else as of earlier today.

I think Trilt calls the role "glean seer" and it can be either.

I honestly don't even remember what her ability was. And ski, I'm not a seer. A seer can pick a name each night and get their role. I can only get a name of whoever physically DOES something to me
 
Whatever you want to call it, now the usefulness of it for village is thoroughly shot, since I doubt anyone's going to take any actions on her for the rest of the game.

Although, flipside: usefulness also shot for wolves lol
 
You people are impossible. I get pissed off and make a mistake, but spend all day trying to defend myself and make up for it. Then, I finally have a way to prove my innocence, and you still shoot it down

Except you were arguing earlier that we should keep you around because of your ability (and I'm not sure I believe your claim, or that it's inherently village). If you truly want to help the village, give us some analysis of who you think is sketchy, because so far all you've done is call out quiet people when that's just their normal gameplay. If you're arguing that we should just keep you around for village numbers, again, that's a lame defense.

The way I see it, we caught you in a lie earlier today. You defensively claimed after one lynch vote for you that you wouldn't have killed rojo when he hadn't played in a while, then admitted you didn't know that until it was said on thread, then backtracked and said you DID know he hadn't played the last few games but not that he was in retirement. Maybe it was an innocent villager mistake, but I think you're an egg to crack.

Could still be useful for someone who wants to prove their ability, but that's pretty limited usefulness at this point.

I'm capable of reading through, if I cared. I couldn't even remember what games I was a wolf in, I had to go through and look. I don't remember EVERY conversation I had with EVERY person related to WW. Sorry, I didn't remember my convo with her, but even if I did, it doesn't change the fact that my ability is my ability and I'm a villager, lol. I don't hand out the roles
