I don't think it is too crazy to consider someone on hatari or someone moving from chthulu could have done the kills especially with the mod clarifying. This isn't to say that it wasn't someone on descartes just that we need not to pigeon hole ourselves this early already.
Going off of this guys, I tried to gift the armor prior to it being forced away from me by moving (unsuccessfully). At the top of the order of operations has to be moving, as it wouldn't let me gift or keep my armour for the night (aka it supersedes protect, which has to supersede wolf kills)
I will fill more story in later, but for now, you have elected AM as Gate Keeper. In this role, she will reside inside the gateway where all three meet, meaning she no longer belongs to a planet. It is her duty to collect the toll for passage, either an ability or item offered. If one has no payment for passage, they cannot pass. This position requires great sacrifice, therefor AM has given up everything she once had and will have no use for money. Her position inside the gate also means that abilities are not able to be used on her, however she is vulnerable to kill and lynch. Congratulations, AM, on your new post!
You crazy suns o guns also lynched 3m, village JOAT, who could cycle between affiliation seer, protection, and blocking.
It is now Night 2. Deadline 9AM EST. I will be handing out todays earnings in a bit to be used for tomorrow's Trading Post offerings. Also, since I forgot to remind everyone that requesting to move is a daytime activity, I will allow submissions tonight.
Lore: The History of the JOAT
The history of the JOATs goes back to the time of the first mechanical gatekeeper. The elite of Descartes believed that their first gatekeeper was not a good representation of who they were, as he was revered as weak and unfocused on the task. To combat another gatekeeper embarrassment, they instructed the next planet to train a gatekeeper to take down the current gatekeeper, and developed the JOAT program. JOAT, unlike colloquial use, does not refer to Jack of All Trades. It actually refers to Juvenile Organization of Aspiring Technologists.
Within this organization, prodigies are identified through a screening of early care programs. Parents are normally approached when their child is the age of 3 years old, requesting that they join the program. The request is seen as a great honor, and violations of this request can result in large burdens for the family. When the child joins the program, they must cut all planetary ties with individuals, communities, and their own families. Even their identity is taken from them, they are dispensed a number and referred to as JOAT-#.
Once within the program, they are required to engage in several curriculum to enhance their capabilities to develop cutting edge technology. Other than the basic education that any individual would receive, they are engaged in numbering (which is essentially equivalent to the Earth’s version of coding), smithing (which refers to virtually any type of material work), and telenesing (which has no Earth equivalent, is essentially a training in how to integrate the mind into machines). There are of course innovation workshops that are frequent within the curriculum of the typical JOAT.
Once the child reaches the age of puberty, they then must start engaging in training for battling and fighting. In fact, they take a year out from all other studies to focus on a wide range of battling styles, whether it be marksmanship, hand to hand combat, or fighting via the use of telenesing.
Unfortunately, the life of a hard worked JOAT is one that usually ends in an untimely demise. Only one person from each year is allowed to emerge from the school, graduating at the age of 20. This is determined from a three round test. The first involves the development of new technologies in a very challenging task with very limited materials. Anyone who does not succeed is “humanely” slaughtered. Next, they are to engage in a battle of words. The other worlds normally forget that peacekeeping is often a diplomatic matter instead of a matter of fists. They are required to work through a series of diplomatic issues, mostly involving the gate, and receive a grade of 9/10 overall, and no grade lower than an 8/10 for any scenario. Those that do not meet this requirement are once again humanely executed. The final task is a battle tournament, to the death.
You may be asking what the purpose of the JOATs are during the average 750 years between when a peacekeeper from Descartes is normally chosen. There is an assortment of tasks that they fulfill. They generally act as CEOs of the major technological empires across the planet. They enter into the government system, the elites, and provides public service for a significant portion of their life. They are also used for their genetics, often breeding with each other, or other highly regarded/wealthy individuals in order to obtain superior genetics for the next generation.
The JOAT maintain their number identity for the rest of their life, regarding it as a point of pride. All JOATs are provided for economically after exiting the JOAT program to ensure that they can focus on the betterment of their country, and not be worried about the economics of living.
If I actually die from this and got lynched as a villager for the first time in my WW history while running around dealing with a ****ing borderline abuse case and things literally dying during presentation I am going to be very, very angry at the people pushing my lynch.

The day began with some beings hot under the collar with how things had been going in the three worlds. There was discontentment everywhere, from the prices and selections at the Trading Posts, to the assumed perks of the new Gate Keeper, the quandary that was all these deaths. It was all too much. The planet of Descartes had to have been harboring death bringers. Well, maybe not. So much confusion about who hid what beneath the presented exterior. Time will only tell who is telling the truth.
Firstly we shall take a look at a poor Hatari Animoid that was considered to be the best doctor on Hatari. One of the few who chose the academic path instead of military, she spent tireless days and nights helping the Animoids not only on Hatari, but on the other worlds as well. It took 15 years of training to be able to deal with all the different physiologies that enabled Hatari to be such a diverse world. She was dedicated though and had been called to Cthulu due to her extreme expertise for an urgent case. She had actually just finished stabilizing the patient, having spent three days to get to this point, when she heard a huge disruption coming from outside the hospital doors. Gunfire and explosions then thundered and shook the building. Not even thinking twice about her own safety, she rushed out to see if any injured could be saved.
Her lungs were instantly filled with acrid smoked that burned upon inhalation. Her eyes burned. She took a moment to adjust to the harsh conditions, then set out to triage as many as she could. Her training was for animoids, but the street was filled with Magicians and Mechs alike. She worked at a furious pace trying to stem the rate of death as best she could. She saw fear in so many eyes. "How can we be letting this happen again?" she though angrily. "Why is history always forgotten and repeated? What is the point of all this?!" She hastily wiped the single tear that had escaped from her eye, took a shallow breath, and took a step towards the next victim. An explosion wiped her from existence in an instant.
Now we shall go back to the fateful night that started this recent uptick in violence and hate speech. On the planet Descartes. You see, this is where the most desolate people reside. Without the natural resources and the mostly grey, concrete and metal scenery, hope was a hard thing to hold onto. Here is the story of one such being:
The world is gone. My world. I was born into a dying planet. All that is left is a barren, empty husk. A place where the air is harsh enough that every child's first adaptation is a respirator. Where the expectation is to need filtration replacement for every organ system and safeguards for every nervous input. A child of twelve learns to monitor for radiation pools, how to repair a mechanized kidney eaten by concentrated acid with spare parts while hiding from a sand storm, and can kill faster than an Unmod can blink.
Not that there are many children born anymore. In a world of poison and pestilence forged by war, we built bodies to survive, not thinking about the existence of future generations.
Bare earth, bare homes. What future is there? "The other worlds" say some. Well, they can rot too. They are why we set the bombs. They are why we poisoned our crops. They brought war and death. Now I bring it to them!
I take jobs, moving them from world to world. I serve. They think me a travel agent or coyote. I smile and look cheerful. But they forget my mind. They forget my memory. They forget that I know what their parents and parents' parents did to my world. What my own people have done. They all owe a debt that cannot be paid.
Mechs live a long time if they are smart. They are guilty. I intend to live long enough to watch Them and their green worlds turn to dust just like mine.
The name I give is Avalyn Laqueta (breath of life + one who is quiet). The name I have taken is The Dust. We came from Dust, and to Dust all shall return.
The Dust wandered unnoticed during the day, dressed to be uninteresting and forgettable. This allowed her to travel quietly through the gates to use her upgrade to hypnotize anyone into asking to be let through the gate with the payment of an item or ability.
In the night, however, the true revelation of what bitterness had brought out in Avalyn was revealed. A stealth mech with no mercy for any in her way.
Her plans for death and destruction were cut short however. So it goes it this world.
Dead is Trilt, who was
vanilla animoid
Also dead is LoTF, who was
a Serial Killer able to force people to move planets and kill on odd nights
With this quick ending, please get any move requests in asap. Please and thank you. 🙂
I don't know why people were focused on Trilt when the kills haven't happened where she has been. I think those votes are odd. Especially with lynch ending early
Looking at LoTF's character she was a Descartes mech so it looks like she killed SAR as that was described as a flash of metal
I was going to be between Dubz and shelter today. Dubz I'm reading village and shelter is asking a lot of noob questions. I did disregard some of the noobs last game for the same thing. If it was Dubz or shelter, I'm leaning towards shelter.
@WildZoo I know you don't think it could be Shelter but what do you think now with LoTF's death

The kills do not have to have happened in the area the person was. I'm feeling like a broken record. Also based on the kill mechanisms I think the second kill night one was done by a chuluthian
I was afraid of people starting to look at me because I haven't been able to offer up much in terms of strategy, and it seems my fear has come true! I didn't want it to look like I was laying low, so in order to convey my interest/participation I've been asking genuine questions. I can say for certain that it hasn't been an act, so I'm sorry for it looking that way and I'm sorry for being crappy in terms of sharing my thoughts and contributing in that way. I don't think my opinions on things would be taken that seriously anyway(?) with being so new and all. I've actually been pretty embarrassed to ask such basic questions, so if I could have avoided it, I would have.
I'll try to figure things out on my own from now on and ask less questions. In terms of contributing strategy, I'll do my best, but I'm still learning the ropes and, again, fairly afraid of sounding stupid. I feel like even this post will be construed as "laying it on too thick." -_-
I barely know how to play as a villager (as I was in my first game...I wouldn't even call that my first game because I couldn't participate much...so this is essentially my first game), let alone a wolf. I think I'd have outed myself as a wolf way sooner. Apparently being a noob can be suspicious though.. 🙁.

The questions aren't what made me think you're laying it on thick. It was that most posts by you had some mention by you of being a noob. We know you are new, don't need to remind us and it comes off weird to have a built in "excuse" in quite a few posts.

I don't think people are necessarily questioning your noobiness. But if you were a wolf and a more veteran player was telling you to jump, you would do so. Aka, it doesn't need to be that difficult for you to be a wolf.
I am really curious as to @LetItSnow though. Votes trilt without reasoning, very shortly before lynch ends in a tie. The no explanation made me do a side eye, the ramifications afterwards makes me want to look more into LIS
Does anyone want to take credit for ending lynch early?

Gotcha. Adding in the built in "excuse" was kind of my way of apologizing for being annoying. I'm a pretty self deprecating person in general, so that's my WW version of self depreciation, lol. Well, now I know, and will avoid things like that in the future. Thanks for clarifying.
With LoTF dying and coming up as serial killer, I think it now becomes a toss up as to whether the second kill came from Descartes or Hatari. Kam had liked my lurking post, so she would have seen the plan, could have easily been extrapolated that she would move.

Agreed the position is a tad overstated, but if LIS was a wolf, he would want a bit of room when making that move. If it was a wolf that ended early, they also would have need to have waited for a tie to occur, via AM'a unlynch.
Speaking of things, AM, since you wanted gatekeeper, tell us all about how you are using that role to help us.

This is a good point. Closing the lynch when 2 non-wolves were tied is pretty indicative of a wolf close. Now whether LIS made the tie for that aim, or if the wolves were just waiting for the timing... hard to say ...
If you are bored...check out other ties yesterday...and maybe one of the tied people was a wolf...hence they wouldn't want to end it then.
Probably not LIS then as I think about it... too obvious. You can just wait for the right timing.
Also most likely someone who was participating in thread. It is possible they didn't post and ended it but that would take more self control than I have, might make a list of every poster today. It is still early...and then find a wolf there as well,

Thank you for telling us exactly what lupin said. I hope you have a plan of how you are using abilities and such. Can you deny people from going through the gate? How are you approaching items? Since you can only carry 1
If I'm reading things right, there was a tie earlier when LIS voted, but AM broke it when she voted 15 minutes later. So probably not someone who was around in the interim, otherwise they could have just ended the lynch after LIS's vote instead of waiting until AM remade the tie.
That would be awfully aggressive. Although it's fair that sometimes wolves do the obvious thing because that's the least obvious thing to do. If we found out that's actually the case, I would want Dubz taken out, as that's a play straight out of her book(intentionally doing the obvious thing)

When someone tries to pass through, do you know who they are? Do you hear from them directly? Or are you just told what they are offering and decide if it's something you want?

Do you disagree with that? I can probably compile (if given a bit of time) a page full of quotes of you saying stuff exactly to that effect. Especially in wolf pms

Haha I don't disagree. It's totally something I would do. Doesn't mean other people couldn't do it too though, you know what they say about imitation 😛
