More cats I think. Maybe it's just periodontal disease.
Or the dental disease is there (as it probably is in most geriatric patients) but the real issue is the tense abdomen.

Agreed on both accounts (except maybe for hypercalcemia .... sure, there are all the HOGS IN YARD rule/outs, but let's face it, next to renal failure, cancer is the biggie ... everyone will say "a-ha! hyperparathyroidism!" but gimme a break - how many hypercalcemic patients are hyperparathyroid compared to how many are cancer?).
*************
Recently went to CE for one of our local specialty hospitals, and I don't know where they're citing this from or just in their experience, but he claimed in the absence of renal disease, 2/3rds of feline hypercalcemia patients are hyperC of malignancy, and 2/3rds of those are lymphoma.
Not game related, but I have a cat with idiopathic hypercalcemia. Diagnosed at least 5 years ago, controlled by giving him psyllium husk in his food.Weird I thought for cats after renal, idiopathic hypercalcemia was more common than neoplasia.
I'm not *set* on you being a wolf. If I was, why wasn't I lynching you today? Your response is overblown.I'm home!!!!!
PBC, you've GOT to be kidding me (won't let me quote your post from my phone right now). I didn't want to be the first to vote for coop because she voted for me, and it would have been seen as "retaliation" if all I had were feels. I still think that my vote for coop is what got the ball rolling on her lynch, and I'm annoyed that you are so set on me being a wolf when I think it's so obvious I'm not (would she really have been sneaky enough to vote for a fellow wolf, no).
The more I read, the more I could go for an AM lynch... but I don't really want to switch my lynch from gwen since she's barely checked in or defended even though she knows she's in the lead![]()
I'm trying not to tunnel on hazel, but jeez, come on. People's posts and voting patterns aren't what we're talking about when we talk about "feels." Posts and voting patterns are what the game is about - analysis.Probably nothing, yet. The first couple of lynches are usually based off of people's posts and voting patterns (aka, feels)
It might be worth tunneling on her.I'm trying not to tunnel on hazel, but jeez, come on. People's posts and voting patterns aren't what we're talking about when we talk about "feels." Posts and voting patterns are what the game is about - analysis.
I'm feeling the same it's just whenever I get this way about someone I tend to be wrong 😛It might be worth tunneling on her.
- claimed she was suspicious of Coop before anyone else but couldn't vote because we'd think her vote was just retaliation
- weird comment in response to AM
- hyperbolic response to my post, and she thinks anyone Coop voted for = village because Coop wouldn't be clever enough to vote for a wolf
It's stacking up.
.... then what are feels? Is it not based on the way people act on the thread?I'm trying not to tunnel on hazel, but jeez, come on. People's posts and voting patterns aren't what we're talking about when we talk about "feels." Posts and voting patterns are what the game is about - analysis.
No, I'm just annoyed because I clearly stated that I would be MIA for the first couple of days, I'm always tunneled on and it's never valid. Not to mention that you're barking up the complete wrong tree when you could be using your amazing detective skills to get an actual wolf. And HOW was my comment "weird"? I was answering her question because she was wondering what people had on her besides feels - literally nothing...It might be worth tunneling on her.

It is just what it sounds like. A feeling of wolfiness that you can't really put your finger on or explain. That's not the same as analyzing posts and finding things that are sketchy/inconsistent/otherwise wolfy, or looking at voting patterns for evidence of foul play..... then what are feels? Is it not based on the way people act on the thread?
Feels can mean two things. 1) I have a strong feeling about something, but can't quite elucidate exactly why. 2) I have other reasons for my vote that I don't quite want to put on the thread. Usually separate from most post analysis, and vote analysis..... then what are feels? Is it not based on the way people act on the thread?

If at first you don't succeed try try again.
Contingency lynch NSFW
When tf did I say this?! I said that she voted for me because "I was the first one" which is sketchy as all get out considering I'm a villager --> I broke the tie that led to her eventual lynch. No, I don't think she would have been clever enough to use her first vote to vote for another wolf, because she didn't.

You didn't say that she wouldn't have made her first vote a fellow wolf, you implied any vote:
She also voted for me, and I'm pretty sure at least 1 or 2 others . . . Let me go check for you 😀Except that she only voted for one person, ME, because she got lynched on DAY 1
How sad, I feel like you just can't trust this little 12yo male intact Chihuahua with extreme halitosis and a mouth that probably has more wriggly teeth than healthy.
She voted for 4 different people on d1...and she didn't even the end the day on you, you were just her first vote...Except that she only voted for one person, ME, because she got lynched on DAY 1
I'm at a complete loss for why you'd assume this without double checking.Except that she only voted for one person, ME, because she got lynched on DAY 1

She voted:I didn't "assume" anything, I just only remembered her voting for me on D1.. probably because I mostly skimmed. Woops.
I think this must be the case, I'll be interested to see if someone has the same restriction or a different one tomorrow. It's possible that there's a "punishment giver" or there was an item someone got or something like that. Which explains why Lyra's been talking with flowers all game, and Pippy only talked like this on Day 2.
I agree with this, I can't see how dental disease alone would be enough for a dog to be hospitalized. I'd be interested to see a CBC/chem or maybe abdominal rads on NSFW at some point, but we should probably look at others as well. I'm definitely suspicious of AM at the moment.Or the dental disease is there (as it probably is in most geriatric patients) but the real issue is the tense abdomen.

I don't have anything that would require hospitalization either. Vet clinics have outpatients too, not just hospitalization...
Somebody check his prostate! Who has a small pinky finger and likes getting bitten?12yo male intact Chihuahua
@Trilt - Are there plurality rules in this game?
If there is a really overwhelming majority and almost everyone seems to have voted/defended, lynch may close early... but generally night/lynch deadlines will be 6AM/8PM EST, with a day and a half for all day cycles. No plurality rules. We can move these slightly forward or back if there is demand, and I promise to try my best to keep people up to speed if I will be early/late.

So bad teeth, tense abdomen, and a high likelihood of reproductive cancers... any takers, or is it just me who jumps repro all the time?
Or the dental disease is there (as it probably is in most geriatric patients) but the real issue is the tense abdomen.
I'm well aware of that, I was just under the impression we were all hospitalized based on this bit from the opening writeup:I don't have anything that would require hospitalization either. Vet clinics have outpatients too, not just hospitalization...
But I guess I misunderstood, that's interesting to know. But in any case, you're stuck together now, through (foreshadowing!) the upcoming thick and thin. Some of you have ailments much worse than others, and frankly I'm shocked a couple of you are still alive. Thank goodness you have such nice owners who agreed to hospitalization.
Welp, I hope all of you who voted for gwen feel good about that right now. I can tell you that tomorrow I'm going to be looking really closely at this bracket.
Gwen (8) - serher, hmoo, LIS, [AM, ny, Lyra,] 3m, LotF
And actually your telling them you hope they are happy with themselves raises little red flags against you in my opinion.
I did a physical exam of @NSFW
Initial diagnosis: suuuuper fine.
Geriatric Chihuahua
Findings:
Wt: 2.9kg
BCS: 7/9
Temp: 102.0
Pulse: 150 (this is fast)
Resp: 40 (this is also fast)
Hydration: Euhydrated
Attitude: QAR
Mucous membranes: Pink <2
Pain score: 0/4
EENT/Oral: Clear sclera/cornea. No ocular or nasal discharge. Several retained deciduous teeth, generalized severe dental tartar and associated gingivitis, no oral masses or lesions present.
CV/RESP: No murmurs or arrhythmias auscultated, femoral pulses strong and synchronous, normal bronchovesicular lung sounds, no crackles or wheezes.
GI/GU: Abdomen palpates tense. No palpable organomegaly, masses or fluid wave.
Lymph: All peripheral lymph nodes palpate soft, smooth, and symmetrical
MS: Ambulatory x4, no pain on palpation of long bones/joints
INTEG: Normal healthy haircoat with no signs of ectoparasites,
NEURO: BAR, appropriate mentation, CNs WNL, CPs normal
So in summary, NSFW (needs a dental) has teeth problems and a tense abdomen. No other issues that I see.

Give me some credit, I know a little better than that. 😛
Go village!

Prostatic cancers are actually less likely in intact males. BPH and prostatic abscesses are more likely in intact males. I'd expect a change in testicular size if testicular cancer were present.
With that

Would a tense abdomen suggest sepsis? (Bacteria from the bad mouth?) We've opened a lot of septic animals at work but I don't know how they look on PE, I just know what they look like when deceased.
I don't remember how high his Ca was. We did bloodwork for something unrelated and discovered the high Ca. Then we tested ionized Ca, still high and we did full body rads and UA, those were normal. The Dr said it's good to treat because over time high Ca can be hard on the kidneys.Continuing the tangent, but that's cool. How high does its Ca go without therapy? Why treat it? Is the Ca x Ph that high, or is it symptomatic for its hyperCa?
I was taught the same thing as DVMD - that idiopathic is the 'next most common' cause. It's just been my experience that in reality, cancer is really the next most common. It sounds like that's what they taught at the CE Trilt went to (cancer over idiopathic).
