If they are handwriting them, it might be some time before they get to the waitlists/rejections (at least, it makes sense to do acceptances first).

And do we know if this letter going to the permanent or preferred address?
 
it went to my permanent address.
 
That's probably your answer then! I can't imagine that they would mail one thing to one address and another to a different one.
 
I have a feeling they get acceptances in the mail and out of the way first and save the waitlists/rejections for later...

God I hope I have a big envelope come Thursday since I'm leaving on Friday morning! :xf: I did send an email saying I'd be out of the country but didn't get any response (I'm not expecting one either :laugh:).

What do you mean 'handwriting them?' I know a lot of undergrad admissions departments have 'auto-handwriters' that allow them to 'hand-write' a signature and a line or two as an addendum (Harvard undergrad admissions literally sends out a bunch of variations that are all 'hand-written' by the robot). Take an hour or two to churn out 100.

Preferred address, huh? I just remembered my interview invite came out to my school...which is in NYS....I guess that's good because I'll get it sooner then I would have in FL but 😱🙄...
 
yeah my interview invite did nto coime to my permanent address. i actually got in my school mailbox.. which is all of50 blocks south of P&S ..eekk

If they actually went out yesterday, I would suspect that some people in New York City would get their acceptances today.
 
Oh dear. Let the panic begin. I already have a feeling that I've been waitlisted because that is the theme of the month for me so far. So I won't be holding my breath.

omg AGREED. Its just good to see that we're all anxious together.
 
I couldn't stand just waiting so I bothered them again and the lady confirmed that some were sent out yesterday and some are being sent out today. Then I asked if she knew around what percentage were sent out yesterday (I knew it made me sound like a spaz while I was saying it) and she said "No." click. I wonder if admissions office people all hate premeds by now.
 
Gah, snail mail is brutal....I probably won't hear until this time next week or even later. They e-mailed me my interview invite...but this time I'll have to wait.

I'm not sure if it's a horror or comedy...perhaps a bit of both (maybe kind of like "Grind House"? Funny in the sense that things are taken to the extreme.)
 
I one of the lurkers out there who never posts, but I think I need to stop reading this thread. It makes me so nervous each time, it can't possibly be good for my health. I'm on the west coast, so it's unlikely that I'll get anything before next week, but my heart still races each time I open the mailbox...
 
Suggestion:

no more posts until someone actually gets something in the mail. Eh?
 
Just called the admissions office (again).

I asked if all decisions has been sent out already and she said that decisions were sent yesterday, some more were sent today, and that another batch would be sent tomorrow and friday. I asked her if all the acceptances were sent out already, and she didn't give me a straight answer but I am pretty sure she hinted that the majority of the decisions that were sent yesterday and today were acceptances, and that now they were working on their WL and rejections. I also asked her when NY/NJ residents would hear, and she said "most likely Thursday" (i.e. TOMORROW!!!!!!)
 
You guys are crazy. Remind me never to work in an admissions office. :laugh:

i know. sometimes i stop and think how obsessive i am and it really scares me. but hey, it helps me in other parts of my life so i guess it might not be that bad of a trait overall. in reality i really just want to have this whole process over with. im exhasuted.
 
i was thinking that since they sent my interview invite to my school mailbox that maybe ill get the decision there.. i guess ill find out, but i wish i knew! lol i checked my school mailbox today and nothing and i think this may start another bought of me checking my mailbox several times a day... sigh.
