Ha...I just got an invite. Don't know if anyone out there is waiting still: there is a little smidgen of hope...too bad the soonest interview is April 6th. Damn.

better late than never.. I know someone who interviewed about that time last year and got in

But...*points to my post above*, no one has any suggestions? It's weeks later and I'm still quite shocked by the outright rejection. I'm not trying to seem pretentious or arrogant, but it was a school I absolutely loved when I visited, and would have been very happy to attend. That, and I thought I was a competitive applicant for the school

I would also try contacting your actual interviewer. See what their feedback was. Dr. Hanau is also a good bet.

Be prepared to wait a while.... I got my "final decision" message on 1/16 and I'm still waiting for a letter...
 
Why don't you ask them to fax it to you? That's how I received my decision-the actual letter didn't come in the mail until a day or two later.

And good luck! I know how hard the waiting is! 👍
 
I'm definitely still on the pre-interview hold. Anyone have any information on this? Should I "face the music" so to speak about the possibility of an interview at Drexel?

I am new to the forum, and am also still on pre-interview hold. I was complete in Sept. Ugh - Just tell us already!!
 
Wow I just got in!!! I interviewed 10/23 and it was my only one so far. Couldnt be happier with Drexel!!
 
Waitlisted. :/ Does anyone know if the waitlist is ranked? Or how many people are typically accepted from the waitlist? Thanks.

If you're talking about the students that host people at the school, you'll need to call the admissions office and ask them for the list. They'll email you the list of students that are willing to have house guests. From there on its up to you to make the connection and make sure all other details are good to go (i.e. family staying with you). If its the hotel you're looking for I'm sure the staff will help you with that as well.

I stayed at the Student Guest House. They were really nice. They served breakfast and drive you to the school after. I had my own room, but I was traveling alone. If you want to call them, their number is 215-796-5321. The woman, Miae is very nice and can answer all of your questions.

Their address is 2815 Midvale Avenue, and they are right off the 30st street train station. Best of luck!
 
vania, xdor84... i'm sorry to hear about the news 🙁... i have a feeling ill be in the same boat soon enough unfortunately. my file has been at the admissions committee for the past week and a half. if you don't mind me asking.. what were your stats? and was there anything that you two could think of that would impact your file negatively?? i'm just trying (though i know i shouldn't) to predict my own outcome...

33M (11V, 10B, 12P)
3.49 Brown University 2006: Biophysics

This was my third time interviewing at Drexel and the last two times my MCAT was only a 30O. I got waitlisted the last two years with crappy interviews and this time I had a 33 and a great interview and got rejected. A bit of a surprise... Anyway, I'm pretty confused/annoyed. Good luck to you.

You might want to consider talking to Dr. Hanau and find out what strikes you had against you this time around. It'd be interesting to see what went wrong when you've seemingly improved on multiple fronts.
 
Application has progressed from committee member to full committee (Interview in mid-november). Not that this is useful information for anyone, of course, but there it is.

I'd really like to go here.

went from full committee to decision reached in a day. That makes me nervous.
 
Interviewed 10/27 and ~13 weeks later..accepted! That took a long time. I'll most likely be withdrawing, so best of luck to the rest of you!
 
I interviewed on the 26th and I just wanna say I had the best interview group ever! We had a fun, lol, maybe too much fun haha! :laugh:
 
Interviewed on Nov 19th, finally got a decision - Waitlist. 🙁

I'm really disappointed. I really liked the school a lot.

My status said "interview scheduled" until Dec 4, "committee member" until Jan 8, "admissions committee" until Jan 22, received the letter today. I feel like the long wait is what did me in. There are many people on here who interviewed after me and heard before me. By getting delayed at the committee member, there are fewer spots open by the time i get to the actual committee.

So bummed 🙁.

Ur miles ahead of me! I interviewed on November 6th and guess what, status still says "interview scheduled", yea thats right, this is gonna be the 13th week (3+ months) since i interviewed and im still stuck w/ the ur interview has been scheduled message...at least you already have a decision (and an acceptance elsewhere, unlike me)

Is there anyone here who interviewed on Thursday, the 6th of November?!?!? If so, what does your status say?

I'm so sorry for you. The waiting really does suck. Have you tried calling or sending an update?
 
My status has said "Your application is under review....No decision has been made regarding your status" since early December. Has this happened to anyone else?? Does this imply waitlist?? I find it odd that my file has been in committee for two months.

Xdor, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know we've both been waiting for our letters together. Where else did you apply? Any hope for this year? Your stats should definitely get you into med school somewhere. I would definitely ask them where your application needs to be improved.

I haven't received my letter yet because I'm in Thailand for work. I tried to get them to fax me the letter before I left, and the lady on the phone would not! So I have to wait two more weeks until I'm back in the states.

I wouldn't be nervous. The committee meets on Thursday. If you got to committee right before a meeting, they looked over you at the meeting, so your status changed quickly. I'm in the same boat. We'll compare notes soon. 🙂
 
For what it's worth, I called them today to confirm my address. They said letter hit the mail sometime tomorrow.

Does anyone know how much waitlist movement Drexel generally has? I know it can change from year to year, but I was wondering what the trend generally is.

Also, for anyone else who sent in the waitlist papers, did you send an LOInterest as well? From the wording of the letter it sounds like they want something in writing as well as their paper.

Last cycle there was some movement, but not a whole heck of a lot. The cycle before there was none.

You don't have to send in any supplemental letters with the waitlist papers.
 
does anyone know how long it takes for them to reach a decision once ur file is underreview. I interviewed on 1/26 and it went to committee review today. hopefully its good news!
 
interviewed back in october and FINALLY changed from "please allow 6-8 weeks..." to "under review by an admissions member" 😡

i guess my october interview that just turned into "under review" isnt THAT bad...
 
A decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to a preferred address.

My stats are much lower than those of some of you who have not gotten in, so we'll see...

for those of you who have upcoming interviews, I highly recommend staying at the Student Guest House. The family is absolutely wonderful and the rooms are enormous and comfortable. I had a TV in the room and they have a lounge for students to check email and just hang out. Contact person is Miae Shin. Her phone number is 215-796-5321 if you want to reserve a room. I suggest booking early b/c I think they only have 4 rooms available in that house.

Day of interview, she cooks you a wonderful breakfast and she sits you separately in the dining room (not in the kitchen) so you can have some privacy. If you ask, they usually will let you leave your bags with them during interview day. Miae also drives you to Drexel in the morning even though the house is literally only a couple of blocks away from Drexel.

Also, she and her husband run a music school in the area so if you like listening to classical piano or the violin, this is the place to go!
 
12/6 interviewee with no decision made as of yet...sorry to those who have been waitlisted or rejected...there is still hope!
