Hey everyone,

any news? I am still on the waitlist but haven't heard anything from Emory.

It is almost July. Are all the spots full? Should I give up?

Do schools send out an email or something, at least telling you that everything is over?

i've talked to admissions a couple times -- as of now, all the spots are filled. the receptionist said that there had been some movement earlier (which, i'm guessing, is the movement that occurred closer to may15th).

but-- i have a questions. everytime i've talked to admissions, they say their alternate group is not ranked and that everyone will be reconsidered if spots open up. buttttt i found out from one of my friends that admissions told her she's ranked number 12 on the waitlist. does anyone know which one is true? i don't know why emory would hide the fact that they have a ranked waitlist if that's what they actually do..

The admission office told me the waitlist was unranked. Hope this helps.

i highly doubt that the admissions office would disclose this to anyone. if the person had a good "insider" connection, then it's possible (although, i wonder: if they had this connection to begin with, why hasn't it helped with admissions yet?). it's all hearsay nonetheless.

"unranked alternate list" is the mantra of Emory. However, do you think that they evaluate all alternates when each spot opens? I doubt it.

does anyone know anything about historical Emory AL movement? is it all mostly in May? i hope whomever is on the AL at least has a backup plan. 🙂 gl:luck:

If you look at the waitlist movement thread for the previous cycle, Emory shows movement in June and I think even in July. This hasn't held true for this year though. When I spoke to the admissions office they said that they accept students from the waitlist until the day before orientation, so that means until July 26 (which is a Sunday so July 24 is probably the last day). They have accepted people up until a week before school has started, though I don't think that is frequent. I am definitely crossing my fingers and hope I get in.
Sameera

I know of at least two people who were accepted off the wait list at the beginning of this week/end of last week.

I called them two days ago and they said that no one had been taken off the waitlist since late may/early june

Well I guess that's that. MS1s started orientation today. Good game everyone.
