Good to know Georgetown seems to have no rhyme or reason to their rejections [people with way better stats than mine getting rejected] - maybe they found out I thought their Jesuit philosophy was BS

G-town seems to love UMD kids this year. Three my friends have got interviews with them.

WOW GT has been doing a lot of rejecting. You think they are already booked up? It's my last secondary but now I'm not sure if I should send it in to get a fancy rejection letter. Anyone else send in a secondary on the late side for this school?

unless you have some awesome ties to jesuit-ism or think you would stand an excellent chance of getting an interview, i wouldnt bother wasting the money

i just got an interview from georgetown. can anyone tell me from the MSAR or some other source, the enrollment from interviewed applicants at georgetown? I know they have around 190 matriculants.

2006-2007 cycle data (Class of 2011) from USNews:

10643 applied, 1236 interviewed, 376 were accepted, 190 enrolled

From US News & World Fall 2007 Statistics:

10643 applied, 1236 interviewed, 376 were accepted, 190 enrolled

In return would you mind telling me when you were complete? Thanks!

Edit: Whoops! Too slow for the Mod!

my application was fully complete on 9/8. that is when i got their completion e-mail.

They might love UMD kids but they hate Towson people...ugh.

I am thinking about sending Georgetown a "I will be in town" letter b/c im interviewing at GWU in December. Has anyone sent Georgetown a similar letter and had some luck??

so, i was complete 7/10 with no news still.

i guess that means rejection? has anyone else been complete as long as i have?

I sent them an email like that and got rejected about a week later. I'm not sure if it had any effect in moving my application along so take it for what it's worth.

Yea just got a reply back. Apparently they could care less🙁

anyone know when the first acceptances will be going out?

Anyone with post-interview news? I interviewed there in Sept.

I also interviewed there in early September and have heard nothing. I know everything is sent snail mail, but I was wondering if anyone knew when there first set of letters are suppose to go out?

i was told they wouldn't meet until 10/16....so i'm guess late october?

Ugh I just got the rejection letter. This sucks. I'm thinking I might need to add more schools... is it too late?

So it's been about a month, I suppose I should be hearing back soon. *crosses fingers*

Hey, what a small world - I interviewed with you

I'm the Canadian dude who wanted to talk about basketball. I watch way too much basketball. None of my interviewers have wanted to talk about basketball, sigh.

My friend talked to Mrs.Sullivan, the adcom meets today and we should receive something within the next two weeks. I wish they would simply email us.

That would mean they seriously haven't met since we interviewed (i as around that time). I thought they said Oct 15th?

gah

They said October 16th on the interview day as well I believe. It's a long wait.

I hate waiting.

I interviewed in early October, which means I may not hear until December??

All I do everyday is sit in front of my computer and check my email. Then when it's 3 or 4 pm I go check my mailbox. The rest of the day I spend on this website getting frustrated that other people are getting into Michigan and JHU. On the weekends I don't get out of bed in the morning because I know there won't be any email or mail.

I don't even know who I am anymore. 🙁

Arghhhh I completely agree! I actually just interviewed this past tuesday... and the only other school i've interviewed so far told me that they don't announce anything until January. In the meantime, I'm getting anxious reading about so many acceptances here and hearing about some of my friends' at my school having received acceptances in the past couple of days... it's gonna be such a long year

That's really cool! I saw him swim this summer in Beijing and hung out with some of his teammates in a club (completely by chance). Several other things we have in common besides interviewing at Georgetown and Michael Phelps (yes I stalked your MDapplicant profile). I am also considering HPSP (through the Air Force), my top choice is UW (I used to hang out on the San Juan Islands a lot), and I worked at National Naval Medical Center/USHUS two summers ago.

Sick. Good luck with UW..interview coming up on 11/17. If you'll be in town I'll have to show you around my old stomping grounds. Air Force all the way... literally for me, I'll owe like 25 years 😉 haha

URGhhh, why can't georgetown just send the letters, they are taking so long.

They don't call, they send letters? Hrm. Didn't realize that. If we call, think they will give us our status?

I am pretty sure its through snail mail. I interviewed six weeks ago, I tempted to call and see what the deal is??

The decisions are coming by snail mail and I imagine some will begin to receive their packages before the end of the week. It sucks, but there doesn't seem to be anything that we can do to receive the decision earlier.

THX for the feedback. 🙂

From looking at last year's threads, it seems like people began to receive their letters in the mail around the 27/28th. I thought some would received their decisions by Friday, but maybe early next week is more realistic?

Fingers crossed for some mail today...

Me too! This is the worst wait for far!

Ha, I've been waiting for one of the four schools I interviewed at to get back. It's not a fun process at all, this waiting game.

I wish I understood the US postal system and could ease my mind by knowing how long a letter takes to get from DC to Pittsburgh:idea:

I know, the wait is a real bummer.

ha I got the letter today..waitlisted...does anyone remember how we send in an LOI?

You should seriously make that thread, I'm sure a lot of us will be needing that information.
Yeah, that would be useful. I remember her saying something about a 3 paragraph statement on why you want to go to georgetown, or something like that. Which is funny, since we already wrote one for the secondary.
