i got that email the other day too about waiting until may 12 🙁

i just found out i was placed on the CAP and im working on my letter.
how long did it take any other letter writers to hear anything??
does anyone know the chances of getting in after writing a letter?!?

A quick question for those who have been accepted off the CAP. Did you get a call, letter or email?

I heard that they review letters at the end of each month so I'm starting to get anxious again!

I received a call from my interviewers, and then got a letter in the mail a few days later.

I was surprised to find no Gtown class of 2013 thread, so i guess I'll ask here: anyone accepted applicants get their financial aid package and/or scholarship offers yet (or know when we are supposed to get them?)

Has there been any CAP movement over the past week?!

I was placed in the CAP at the end of January, sent my letter out two weeks later.. and still nothing. I was originally ok with being placed in the CAP because of how much movement I have heard there is, but I am starting to get nervous now. Hopefully things will change come may 15th :xf:

I wouldn't get too nervous if I were you. They're incredibly behind right now. They won't be done notifying people who interviewed of their first decisions until May 12th or 13th!

Gtown financial aid isn't due til 4/15 so I doubt we'll find out anything about it until a few weeks after then.

Just got a call from my interviewer letting me know that I was accepted! I interviewed in early November, CAP'd in early January and after 3 letters was accepted today! So excited

Just letting you know all know, I withdrew my acceptance today. I seriously considered going to GTown, I loved the school. Good luck to you all.

ACCEPTED TODAY!!!! Got a wonderful phone call at 2:09 pm! I am so excited.

Thanks Buddy! still feel like i need to wake up... like it was just a dream.

Anyway, for all those still waiting.... GOOD LUCK. If you want it bad enough you will get it.

I started a C/O 2013 thread in the med. school forum.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing.

I emailed financial aid yesterday. They said that everyone that got their info in before April 15th will get their financial aid info in the mail sometime next week. Whether that means that they are mailing it next week and it will get here later than that is unknown.

If you are CAP'd do you still receive your financial aid packet or do they not give it to you unless you are accepted? Thanks in advance

Potentially good news for us 1532, I was told that our decisions were pushed back because they are going to consider us before the waitlist if enough people turn down their acceptances. Hopefully that will happen because I loved Georgetown!

withdrew my acceptance and just got my check back.. hope one of you deserving kids gets it!! 🙂

First time posting.
taken off the CAP yesterday! there is hope for everyone! (=

Congratulations!

But there's apparently little hope for those of us who haven't heard back anything since our interview... I can't believe I have to wait till May 12th. 🙁 I was hoping maybe they were just being pessimistic with that date but it looks like they really meant it.

I actually received an email saying I would have to wait until May 12, but I heard back before then. Just make sure you keep sending updates to show you're interested.

congrats arooO! what were your stats if you don't mind sharing? also, when did you get CAP'd?

Hm... Good point. I do have an update letter that I'm sending to my wait list schools. Maybe I'll edit it to send to Georgetown too. Can't hurt.

Thanks!

mid 30s on MCAT. 3.9 GPA.

I interviewed in Oct 😵... Cap'd in early Dec. (what a great Xmas present that was) and taken off two days ago.

I was recently put into the CAP. As far as I know, at this point, the class has been seated in full. I imagine this is to be expected at this stage of the game, but it means that there will only be movement after May 15 when the school has an idea of how many applicants will actually matriculate. Good luck to everyone.

G-Town is supposed to be sending out financial aid information to accepted students that submitted their tax info and FAFSA before April 15th. I can only assume that many students (myself included) will withdraw if they do not receive a competitive financial aid offer. So hopefully the CAP list will start moving before May 15th.

anyone get their financial aid information this week?

Not me, and I was really hoping to hear something. I really like this school so I'm hoping for a competitive offer.

Does anyone know if Georgetown has any kind of reputation for their aid packages?

has anyone called to check their place on the waiting list or does the committee review everyone every time?

Just FYI....Talked to Financial Aid today and they say that all award letters were sent out today.

Anyone get their financial aid yet? I still haven't received mine yet.

They basically ask you would you abort a baby given your religious principles..somewhat aggressive about it as well

You shouldn't throw around outlandish lies in hopes of getting off the waitlist....doesn't look too mature.

So you gonna be headed to Georgetown of Maryland then? Maybe I will seeing you at Georgetown or potentially Maryland next year.

If you would have asked me this question two days ago, I would have said Maryland. However after the very generous offer that I received from Georgetown yesterday, I have changed my mind and will be going to G-town next year. Hope to see you there. Let me know how things turn out.

Good luck :luck:

Thanks Man, I hope they are generous to me too. I wont get my FA until this week because there was a glitch in the paper work. However, I am Still holding out for U of Maryland unless Georgetowns offer offsets the difference of what IS COA would be.

Take Care

Well I got my financial aid today and was yet again treated to nothing but loans. I am not sure if I can stomach $70,000 a year for 4 years when I have a $30,000 dollar option in Texas. I hate how this all has to come down to money! Hope the rest of you get better news than I did.

eee gads! 😱

Anything pulling you towards Georgetown? Do you mind staying in Texas for medical school? I'm sure if you penny pinch and stick to a budget you could bring that 70k down to 65k or less. What fields of medicine are you interested? ROADs/Surgery or Primary Care?
