My interview is coming up really soon. Any other advice for the interview?
Sure, no problem:
1) If you are a conservative person (Which I am not, I am d*mn near socialist) don't argue your political views even if you feel you would be "untrue to yourself" if you say that you are veheimently opposed to universal healthcare and you think people should recieve no assistance, then they probably don't want you and you don't want them. You personally being from Pa (especially if you are from the West of Pa) probably don't have radical political views. (Why were are a swing state)
2) They are very laid back, but be prepared to talk on any and all parts of your application. I had that I played a college sport on mine, I am a fourth year senior on the team, still I thought med school people wouldn't be interested in that. Well, my second interviewer talked to me for half-an-hour about it.
3) Show interest in serving YOUR state (Pa), I am from the rust belt and I talked about how I would like to practice in an area that I came from, I think they liked the answer. Bottom line, show interest in a part of Pa.
4) You have a lot of time to interact with secretaries (they walk you places and the school is huge), be nice to them, the ones I met are very cool people.
5) Ask aboot their research program, they are proud of it.
6) Goes along with #5, if you have a genuine interest in the school, do make every attempt you can to show it.
7) They have a great website, browse that **** and learn aboot the school.
8) They are going to ask if you know what you are getting yourself into. So know.
9) Good luck and best wishes
k) For those not lucky enough to have been raised upon the rolling hills of the Keystone State, I think having an interest in PSU and showing that interest at your interview is your best bet.
Good luck to all!
