I got a letter about 3 weeks ago saying I was still under consideration. Other than that, they have been dead. Nothing. I don't know what it is with a lot of these schools. The least they can do is keep you updated, even if it is a generic form email or something.

At least you got a letter. I haven't gotten any signs of life..:scared::scared:
 
i just called penn state, they are starting to send out letters for those that interviewed around sept 30th, they no longer send the Background check before u get accepted, they fixed that problem and delay the background check so that u will get it after u get an acceptance letter, so dont use the background check as an indicator for an acceptance or waitlist

Cool! I called them and must have gotten a different lady that just told me six to eight weeks and i interviewed on the 26th.
 
i received an interview invite via email. i received the invite after being complete for about a week or so. see everyone there. life is beautiful.

So i interviewed the 3rd/4th week in sept, so I should be hearing from them within the next few days then?
 
I received an email this morning from AMCAS for the background check... did anyone else get this?? Penn State would be the only possibility out of the participating schools. I interviewed on Oct 6... really really hoping this is a good sign....
 
I got the same message this morning too. Hoping against hope that it's good news!
Do they background check waitlisted applicants??

I interviewed 5+ weeks ago and no e-mail from AMCAS this morning for background check. However, I got that AMCAS e-mail a month ago for another school and I guess it allows all schools to see it after one of them opens it up after my permission. Hopefully?
 
I interviewed on oct 3.
I just talked to a woman at admissions and she said that it's a glitch in the system and that we just need to wait for a decision via snail mail. Lame...
 
I submitted my stuff mid-September and JUST got the complete email today. Is that normal?

Yup. I submitted mine in late August and got a complete email two weeks ago. Although people on this thread have said that once you're complete, you should hear a decision about interviews pretty quickly.
 
I know, right? I was told the same thing too. But I assume that the admissions office is even busier than ever this year, and I can imagine that the admissions committee may not have met with both of my interviewers yet to get the whole story to make a decision. I don't know.. I smell a possible waitlist; nothing I can do but wait.
 
Are there 2 separate interviews or one interview with more than one interviewer present?
 
I am wondering what is the time scale for the morning interview vs. the afternoon interview (10:30am-4:15pm). I can only get a departure flight at 6:11 pm and I'm afraid of missing the flight if I take the afternoon interview. Thanks.

when i was there for the morning interview, i left ~2pm.
go with the morning one to be on the safe side.
 
I just got an acceptance packet in the mail! I never got a CBC background check request before hand, so don't worry if u havent gotten a background check request yet
 
When did you interview?

it cant hurt to call, they are really nice and if ur a lil forceful they'll answer ur questions
 
i got my acceptance package last night :love: so so happy. for me the background check came last Friday, but as the above posts mentioned, penn state seems to be fixing the early background check glitch, so not getting one shouldn't be worrisome.
 
Complete as of today. Now begins the real wait...
 
At this point, has anyone gotten an interview after being put on the continue to review list? PSU is only place that I still want to interview, but I'm thinking of sending a letter of intent to a school where I am on the waitlist.
 
Just received the "continue to review" letter in the mail today. App submitted late August, marked complete end of October. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!

hmm see this bugs me. you were marked complete end of October and I was complete August 1st. Yet I have heard nothing? Is there something wrong?:confused:

No idea, but at least your application isn't on hold. No news is usually better than bad news, imho.

I received that letter this morning as well. Submitted Oct/13, Completed Nov/21, ContinueToReview Dec/1.

This probably does not bode well.
 
Wow, you got a "continue to review" letter nearly a week after you were marked complete?? Anyone with a "continue to review" letter get an interview here??? I'm wondering if its a hold or perhaps a smaller pool kind of designation...

I was marked complete Nov. 14 and haven't heard anything yet. Maybe I'll give them a ring later this week...

Hope you hear good news though little rock!:luck:
 
It's been 8.5 weeks since my interview, and I still have no answer. I called yesterday and talked to Amber. She said that my committee hadn't even met yet, and that it wasn't unusual for it to take as long as 10 weeks! BLAH! It's funny: the 3 acceptances I have now came from the schools that I interviewed the most recently. The schools where I had early interviews have no answers for me :(

I know, eh? It sounds so bizarre - when the letter came in the mail it was your basic thin letter. I actually assumed it was a rejection and was so upset I threw it out without reading it.

Later on, I decided to open it and seethe over how they worded it, but it turned out to be a Continue to Review.

However if you haven't heard anything yet then it might be good news. Maybe you've been put into the interview pool!

I'm in the same boat with Penn State only this will be week 11 for me. I called last week and they said no descision. I've heard back from schools I interviewed at a month after PSU.

What!? I thought maybe they do things alphabetically because my last name starts with "Y." Of course, who knows how some people get their answers in 5 weeks while some of us have to wait nearly 3 months!

im at the end as well....8 weeksish before the acc packet
