Okay.. I'm confused.. I didn't remember getting asked to explain why I chose my rankings (I already submitted) and I just went back to double-check the application and it doesn't ask me that anywhere. Where is it?

I'm not sure, I'm not actually applying this cycle. I was just taking icarus's word for it.

It asks you to elaborate on why you ranked your first choice as your first choice on the page where you ranked your choices. It does not ask it on the page where you write your essays... Not exactly the most logical place to put it as I would have missed it unless I read about it here first.

I went back to my submitted application and I'm sitting here staring at it, and it's not there.. Maybe if I left it blank they took it out when I went back to look at it? Shoot. 👎

Maybe it isn't showing up - it's definitely there though.

Its probably not a big deal.

does anyone know if submitting the secondary while last year's answers are still up will cause a problem (i'm a reapp)? anyone tried it?

It seems to be fixed now. Sadly I can't find the "submit" option though. Am I just blind?

Stupid question about an essay question:

What are your plans for the current year- June 2008 until June 2009? (Use the following space. There is no character limit.)

This question is for everyone right? Not just those not in school? Do I write, "I'm gonna be taking a bunch of classes, studying, praying for acceptances, doing some ec's, etc." ?

Thanks.

Still looking for the submit button... is it not there because they are still working on fixing the reapplicants glitch?

Anyone? The message on the frontpage says the reapplicant glitch is fixed but I still don't see the submit button.

I'm also having the same problem. Not seeing the submit button anywhere.

I had the submit button. submitted it and paid and everything but i cant access my app. when i try to see the printed app i get some error page..

i hope it went through

hey guys, same here, no submit button?

thats really wierd since i was able to submit it with no prob. i noticed it said on the site that youll find you app updated in one business day and will hear about payment going through in one business day. it says that as of today, 7/23.. so they must be fixing some glitches.. i hope everything will be fine in the morning

I'm not a reapplicant but I still can't find a submit button either. Great.

Since Temple does that new AMCAS LOR thing, I thought I'd wait to do that when I sent in my secondary. Is it true that it takes like 3 weeks for the letter to go through? I guess I wasted some time there, oops

I had no problems with submitting - the button was on the right toolbar, below all the different pages (ie, Essays, Letters, etc).

So I'm reading on the Temple website and it says that "In Philadelphia, TUSM remains the medical school of choice for "first generation" physicians." Does anyone know why this is? Or what would make a 1st gen md want to go to one school over another?

Also, does anyone know what it means that Temple has a student-centered education? Or has anyone found any info/examples of what this means? On the, they only seem to mention it is student-centered but don't explain how..

Did anyone have trouble submitting payment for the secondary? I submitted it, but I don't see any link to pay. Hmm...

Probably because Penn gives a very strong preference to those with "legacy" status, as do many ivies. Those was really the only questions on their secondary, besides whether or not you are a criminal. If I recall, Jefferson also asked about relations who attended Jefferson either for medical school or residency.

Has anyone confirmed their letters are in at Temple? I submitted awhile ago and my status says "Verified". Do they update that once you are complete? Trying to follow up with some of these schools is a real pain...

When I logged in last weekend, it said letter status would be updated on the 28th. When I logged in today, they still hadn't gotten my letters from AMCAS, and it said they would be updated on the 4th.

The same thing just happened to me. Did you find any solution? I'm gonna wait till morning and see if they email me a money request link or something. Anyone have any suggestions, cause this is sorta weird.

anyone know which clinical site would be best suited for inner city medicine work? I am into working with inner city disadvantaged people but don't know which one to choose....

a 2nd year med student at temple told me temple medical center is best for inner city work

None of my schools participating in the AMCAS letter service have posted that they received my letters! I called AMCAS to make sure they got sent, and they did, but most of the schools say "please wait 2 weeks for your letters to arrive" - I've been waiting 13 days and I'm itching to call!

for temple, mine still says letter information will be available after 8/04

Yea Temple isnt really on the ball atm. It took them a week to reset my app so I could pay them after it timed out.

What do you mean? AMCAS LOE service has had my letters on file since July 25th. I submitted by secondary July 24th and payment was cleared last Monday (28th).

They have a supplemental page or something that has "materials received" where it claims they are going to be adding letters received.

Hey guys,

One of my friends was telling me that Temple does a lot of interdepartmental research, and focuses on interdisciplinary studies. Is this true?

Does temple have an undergraduate school or graduate? or is it just a school of medicine?

It has an undergrad school, and some graduate schools - law medicine engineering (i think), etc.

Map quest tells me that Penn State is about an hour and a half away from geisinger. If you have ties to the school or you're interested in the college's sports, that might be something to consider.

I now have a letter under my materials section, however underneath it it says "no letters processed"

Status still is verified.

So I dont really know what that means :S

next to the letters does it say that it was processed today? Maybe it means you're complete?

Its under a header entitled "AMCAS LoR Processed" where it has my processed date as 7/21. Underneath that it has the usual red "no letters processed at this time"

Mine has that too. Who knows.

Okay, mine now has my four LOR writers under it with a receipt date (same day that I submitted my secondary). Do they send out an e-mail saying the application is complete or should I assume that it is complete right now?
