Did any UCLA students get the SIR option on their URSA page? I heard in the past that this happened to UCLA students who got accepted. AAAHHH, I'm so nervous I can't even check my status page.

I think it's supposed to show up on the main menu when you log onto URSA.

My status page hasn't changed yet...I interviewed on 3/18 and haven't received any decision so far. Now I am anxious and worried that most people are hearing back.

letter sent 5/8, interviewed 2/13. probably won't get it for a week since i live on the east coast. how long has it taken other east coasters to get their letters???

yea, i've been checkin ursa like crazy. but my friend who got in said his status didn't change until a couple days after he received his letter. but as of now, no SIR option on ursa. =(

i interviewed 2/19. no status change for me. I called the office and they told me that my app is still with the committee and that I should hear in a week or so.

Wow, that statement sounds messed-up. Nevertheless, best wishes to you.

My letter was sent 5/8 too. I interviewed 3/23.

Based on how many of us got the letter and after careful review of last years thread... It doesn't look good for the letters sent out 5/8🙁... We'll see, but I have prepared myself for the worst, that way I don't get devastated by any bad news because this is one of my top choices

I had this same question earlier on the thread. Waitlist is better. Hold = Rejection unless everyone on the waitlist gets in... then they start accepting people on hold.

The mail just arrived and I had no letter from UCLA, but then again my status didn't change on 5/8/09. I think silent treatment is better at this point than a hold/rejection.

I still have no acceptances and this is my 2nd time applying. I am waitlisted at UCSD and I don't think I'll get in off the waitlist there. If UCLA doesn't come through, I'll be applying for the 3rd time.

anybody get the letter in the mail yet? i'm stuck at school all day. so anxious! i'm in LA so it shouldn't take that long IF they really did mail them on friday, which i doubt.

no letter in the mail... checked last year's thread and someone on the east coast got a letter on tuesday when they mailed it friday... but if no one got letters yet, then i'm assuming we'll get them tomorrow or at least by the end of the week. hey, whats another day of waiting when i've been waiting 3 months? expecting the worst but hoping for the best like TeamYix said.

The mail didn't come for me either so I just called about my status and I was waitlisted.. 🙂 I'm actually really happy because if I was accepted I'd be pulling out my hair deciding between here and another school with only 3 days left till May 15. just got letter today, and I'm waitlisted, which for me is definitely good news considering most people who got had status change 5/8 got holds or rejections..

Well, on the upside Ian (I know some of y'all have doubted his info, but I like him!) says they expect "a lot" of waitlist movement.

Is Ian the male receptionist with the accent? or who is he?

After seeing all these waitlists, I am really no longer holding onto any hope that I will get in.

that's what ian told me too. yea, he's the guy with the english accent. i hadn't received my letter and i live in la so i dropped by, worried that it was lost or something. he told me my status, and said there was hope, since there's a lot of movement on the waitlist.

i asked him how many they take ffrom the list, he said 20-40%.

i am not optimistic, but gl to everyone

20-40% of the class will be made up of waitlisters or 20-40% of the waitlist will get in? the 2nd option is unlikely, i guess

Why is everyone so negative and pessimistic? If you read any book on how to be succesful, or anything about the great people that accomplished great things, the number one rule of accomplishment is that you should think positively and visualize/anticipate success rather than failure.

SDN kind of sucks in this sense...I think there is a general paranoia that is contagious. IMO it is dumb, and we shouldn't buy into it.
