As an accepted student,what grades are you expected to have? For example, is it ok if you score a bit lower than your GPA average in your last semester? I only ask this because I am taking a grad class right now which is a bit difficult, so im not sure if I can earn an A, do they take this into account. Basically, I dont want to screw up this semester and risk having my acceptance revoked.

The official acceptance letter says

"Our offer of acceptance is contingent upon the successful completion of your current educational program including graduate or professional schools and at a level equivalent to the most recent work presented in the application materials to the Committee on Admissions"

However, I highly doubt that a B is going make them kick you out. C'mon.
 
I thought schools can not rescend acceptances as long as you have above C's?
 
Whats the Fafsa code for UC? Been searching forever and can't find it!
 
Anybody hear anything today? I interviewed 1/5, still pulling my hair out waiting...

Also, I was worried that the adcom may not have met last Monday due to the holiday, any merit to my concerns?
 
I would say there is definitely merit to your concerns. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the ADCOM didn't meet on Monday due to President's Day (they didn't meet on MLK day). However, if you interviewed on 1/5 I strongly suspect you will hear something late today or else tomorrow (I heard ~10:30 on a Thursday). Good Luck!

Also, just my theory, but I think that the holidays and bad weather affecting ADCOM meetings only work in your favor. On my interview day, Dr. Manuel mentioned how they have a time frame for when they like to have most of the offers made... if they are behind (and I suspect they are) then they could be offering more liberally in an effort to play catch up... just my $.02

You could always call them...When I called last week, they said that 1/5 interviewees should hear in the next few weeks. The way she worded it is making me think that they did not meet this week, because otherwise she could have said many will find next week (this week now) and the rest the week after. I could be overanalyzing though. If you call them, let us know--I think I have used up my calling privileges over the last three weeks! 🙂

Nevermind, they are sending out decisions today. I interviewed 1/5 and just received my decision!
 
So did we ever figure out how many interview dates there were in January?

Tally, were you in the afternoon or morning group? I was in the afternoon on 1/5 and I am losing my mind waiting for that status change :scared:

You almost seem to imply that you didn't get an email notifying you of a change... Or that you got it this morning?

🙁I interviewed 1/5 in the afternoon and also did not receive a decision
 
I got one and I was afternoon. They do 4 groups a day, and they review 4 groups a week if they meet both days. They still had one group from December, then they did 3 groups from 1/5 this week.

I asked a few questions about this during my interview a few weeks ago. The admissions officer said that there were a total of 80 seats left at that point, and there were about 200 interviews left before they reach their maximum. Their interview target was 650, and they were around 450 already done when I was there. But keep in mind that, although there are only 200 interviews left, there is still a backlog of interviews that had been done in the last month (the admissions office is behind by about a month according to the officer, which should be at least 80 or so interviewees) that have yet to go to committee.

80 isn't a small number, but keep in mind that whether you are in state or out of state makes a difference too (depending on how close they are to the respective quotas).

80 seats ≈ 160 acceptances, unless they meant they were only planning on accepting 80 more applicants?

So that means they'll be doing 1 group from 1/5 this week, and then 3 from when? What was the next interview date after 1/5?
 
I can't believe how far behind they are! I interview 2/3 and am guessing I won't hear for like another two to three weeks? UGH!

no they were pretty clear that its 80 more acceptances, not 160 (i should have been more clear, its 80 acceptances not seats).
 
So I've been looking through this thread and piecing together information. Let me know if any of you know differently.

So there is one group left to hear from the 1/5 interview group... (Someone above said they go through 4 per week, and it seems as though they got through 3 of the 1/5 group last week so the last group should find out tomorrow.)

Now it looks like there was supposed to be an interview on 1/27 but it was canceled because of weather. So this week they should review and notify, the final group from 1/5 and then 3 groups from 2/3?

All that to say, I interviewed on 2/3 and I think we may actually find out this week! If any of you have any more information about an interview day that I missed between 1/5 and 2/3 let me know, otherwise here's hoping!!!!!

EDIT: Does anybody know how they break it up into four groups from interview day? Are they the four groups that we actually interviewed in? IE two in the morning and two in the afternoon?
 
yes, they break it up by the group you interview in so as to eliminate as much bias as possible and look at everyone rated by the same people at the same time.

i found out last week though, waitlisted 🙁

I was invited to interview today and had a few questions:

1) Slim chances of acceptance? I saw that there were still seats open but how many will be open by the time they get to my interview?

2) I've been accepted to other schools around the same tier, whats special about cincinnati?

3) How often are interviews? I don't know if I can make the one I am scheduled for.

4) How many students are at the interview day?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered, I appreciate any help 🙂

Yes, they do. When I interviewed and found out my decision (way before they got backed up), the morning groups on my day found out 2 weeks after the interview. I was in an afternoon group and found out the week after them.

well I was in group 3, but I heard someone else say at another interview that they don't necessarily go in order, and that the front desk lady picks the order, so everyone tries to suck up to her to get their group to be reviewed first, haha!

They let ppl from out of state interview on 1/27. There were 9 of us that day.

When people say they go through 4 groups a week, I think they mean 2 groups in which there were two sets of stations (ie 8 different rotations through stations a day). If it was the case that all four big groups were done a day (as people seem to be assuming) they would only have to meet once for each interview date. If you look back in the thread someone from the morning 1/5 got accepted on 2/11 (two weeks ago now), and there are still those of us waiting from 1/5. Clearly they are only getting through about half an interview day a week. I suspect that the rest of 1/5 will hear today, along with 1/27 and maybe 8-16 of the 50ish or so people from 2/3. Don't get your hopes too high if you are from 2/3.

Well I think you are partially right... First, they told us that they meet both Monday AND Tuesday. So they don't meet one day per one interview day, rather two. Also, last week Monday was a holiday so they would have only gotten through half as many. So they went through 1 group of 1/5 two weeks ago, 2 groups last week, and 1 group this week...

Seems our previous reasoning holds up...

mmmm, good point. My bad.
I just find it so hard to believe that took them two months to get through two interview days. Silly holidays. It all ends today (or tomorrow morning) though! :xf:

Although they did say Wednesday was possible, mine was updated thursday. It did make Wednesday quite stressful, though!
