A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.

...what do you guys think? Is the absence of a date anything significant?

I think ive read that sometimes the date comes a little bit later... so i wouldnt look into it too much as of now...

But *sigh* passed up yet again on my end.

When did you interview?

At this point in the year, and I hate to say it, that message probably isn't as good as it was earlier. There's a slim chance you were admitted and if you made the waitlist you would have received the "no decision" e-mail. Sorry to be a downer; hey, nothing's final until the letter comes. Nothing wrong with holding out some hope. Good luck.

ktroun2,

I love the fact that you used your UIC netid for a name on here. ktroun2, I think good things are in store for you unless your interview went awry.

good luck though to both of you.

Hi, UICers! I will be withdrawing my acceptance this week. UIC is too expensive for OOS; can't afford it and the financial aid was dismal. Good luck guys!

Edit: UIC is a great institution. I personally know the new Chair of Pediatrics. She's amazing! Just UIC is too expensive for me. Financial aid just didn't work out 🙂

I respect your choice and wish you luck, but just because your award letter isn't laced with scholarships and grants doesn't mean it's "dismal". It's a state school; OOS'ers unfortunately are treated similarly across the nation. UIC just does a special job offending people with their OOS tuition.

Zipmedic, I didn't mean to offend you or your institution. BTW, it's so great that you're helping out pre-meds! I hope I can do the same one day.👍

I love DECISION PENDING!!!!

REPRESENT!!!! maybe we're the only two?!?!... who am i kidding. FML

This might only condone the obsessiveness... but for days with status updates like monday where you guys want to login a bunch of times, this tool I made and used back during my days of waiting might help:

checkuic.zip

Put the two files in the zip file in the same folder, and modify the information in the text document ("info.txt") and save. Then run the checkuic.exe file anytime you want. You can even make a shortcut to it on your desktop and click away every minute. It logs into your UIC status page for you, with the click of a button. I promise there are no viruses and such. 🙂

Wow. I would say that this is a little over the top. But I'm impressed nonetheless.

I'll be releasing my spot, OOS, early next week. Good luck!

mac's scare me. well, i also have no idea how even if they didn't. mac isn't automation friendly. (but apparently it makes up for it in coolness? lol)

but flu's can kill...!!!!

Apparently everyone thinks so. I just got off my 10 hour shift in the ER up in skokie. everyone and their mothers with a fever of 100+ is coming in fear of swine!

Were any of you guys giving up yuor spot assigned to the Chicago track? I ask because I'd like to be near my fiance 🙂

after May 15th, how fast is the turn around for campus assignment appeals?

I just called in and i guess the committee meets one more time in may.

^^ as i laker fan im going to have to agree! d.rose is a beast (although i hate him for knocking my team out of the ncaa bracket last year)

i too have decision pending.. still. its been almost 7 months but this is the first time im happy to see it there!

no acceptances this season.. but ill be happy with a WL

i'm guessing that a majority of us will be WL'd if you status it still DP'd.

OMG, yes! I'm working in Evanston and I'm seeing the same thing! Drives me nuts

Does anyone know if they are still interviewing? I just read 2007's thread and they had interviews through june 28th. I'm hoping that they're not so us destined for wait list people will get innnnnnnn.

April 20th was the last official day. UMed people had interviews on Second Look Day. Anything else you may hear about is either a lie or someone who's got juice.

When i called they said they were meeting again in may. What is that for? to see the order of hte waitlist/to make a final decision on whos A/WL/R?

I may be absurd for asking this but it doesn't hurt to try. Can we switch tracks? Say I'm currently assign to Rockford and want Chicago, can i switch tracks with someone who wants Rockford but is assigned to Chicago? Or switch with someone who is currently assigned to Chicago but they will withdraw their acceptance?

I'll take rockford lol

Read the thread. Someone asked this exact same question not long ago. My answer: Call the office and ask.

I'm assuming that if you are admitted off the waitlist you don't get to give your site preference but rather just get the site of the person that gave up their spot. Is this correct?

Don't assume. It's hardly one-by-one. They'll look at your waitlist spot, they'll look at the spots open when they get to your spot, and assign you the best site based on the site preference card you had to turn in with your acceptance.

anyone know how many students there are in the Chicago track, and how many are in UPR?

i havent been really active on this forum but ive been reading it periodically. i want to make some clarifications based on my experience

first of all, to all of those who are wondering about site placement appeals, they started granting appeals last week or the week before last. cant remember. but i can attest to this because i got a call around that time saying that my appeal was approved and i got into the chicago track.

second, this call was after the second look day. so now what do i do zipmedic?

also they never sent me any information regarding the chicago track? did everyone else on the chicago track receive information for next year in the mail or at the second look day? if so where do i get this information?

finally, zipmedic, when can we expect the latest student to student guide if it hasnt already been made.

good luck to everyone and see those of u on the chicago track in a few months.
