You're right. I couldn't fix it no matter what I tried. My cousin tried to use the HTML code for a hard break, but it didn't work either. I ended up just putting the paragraph mark before the sentence that started my new paragraph. At least that way they won't think that I wrote one huge paragraph.

The space they give you for the essays is not that substantial (300 words is pretty short). I don't see the big deal in writing all of your responses in long paragraphs. That's what I did and I think they turned out fine.
 
Question for somebody who is complete at UVA: How long does it take for them to mark you as complete once your LOR's are received by AMCAS? Mine were marked as received by AMCAS on Monday (FINALLY) and I thought I would be marked as complete by UVA pretty quickly since I had already submitted my secondary. It is now Friday and still no word, thanks.

My letters were marked as received by AMCAS on Tuesday (I submitted and received confirmation of my secondary on July 10th) and I also haven't gotten an e-mail from UVA, so I'm in the same boat.

Hmm..I submitted the secondary on 7/20 and was marked as complete on 7/22.
 
My app was submitted on 7/9, I was notified that it was received on 7/10. I sent my in-state tuition form that day (7/10) and then my LORs were sent via VirtualEvals on 7/17. AMCAS received my letters on 7/18 and I was notified that my file was complete on 7/18 as well.
 
Did you guys receive a confirmation email after submitting your secondary? I only got one for my payment confirmation.

finally got the complete email on 7/28, 6 days after my letters showed up on AMCAS

Does anyone have any idea what the application review/interview offer timeline is like there? Can't find much on their website...

It varies wildly. I got my secondary completed last year in June. Many of the SDNer's that applied as early as me received their invites early-mid August. A few people received an invite even later (mine came early February). Interviewing ends in March, I believe. Also, they send out the first rejections in/around November, and others in batches as the year progresses. Don't be discouraged if you don't get an interview invite early, even if you applied really early. It's not over till you get the rejection letter (which comes via snail mail, by the way).

I got an email saying that i was in a pool of applicants that may be considered for an interview? First time applicant here... this good or bad?

Are you sure it wasn't VCU? UVA does snail mail interview invites.
 
Positive... VCU has a similar status for me.
 
Well that's odd. Based on prior years, all communication is done through snail mail, and it's definitive communication. None of this "may" stuff. Hopefully some more people find out soon.
 
Does anyone know if they screen before sending the secondary? I was verified 5 days ago and I've gotten no news yet. How long did it take after verification for those who have received it?

It took mine 5 days and they do not screen.

For those of you interested:

Submitted secondary 8/3, verified on 8/4, interview invite sent out on 8/7, big envelop arrives at my house on 8/10.

i never got an email saying they had everything but was notified by mail about interview on 9/16. good luck!

IS 33S 3.78 from William and Mary. on avg 8 hrs community service/week incl. 2 free clinics + fluent in spanish (those are some of the things i think they might have liked?) good luck, im sure you'll hear soon!
 
I GOT AN INVITE TODAY!! interview for 09/29! i am so happy, it's my first one!!! sorry, i don't mean to rub it in anyone's face, i'm like freaking out from happiness right now.
also, i was compelte 08/18

I don't think there's anywhere to check the date online, but you are supposed to e-mail them to confirm that you're attending, so that's a good check.
 
Congrats all w/ interviews - It looks like they are bringing in the bad applicants first 😉...please post after your interviews and help the rest of us out a little bit!

Has anyone had any luck calling them / emailing them to reschedule the interview date?

Like a few other people asked earlier.. I just paid for my application but didn't hit the "submit" button, only the save then pay buttons. Did this work for everyone else? when I hit the submit button now it says to choose a payment type, which I have already done.
 
I was surprised to find a big envelope from UVA in my mailbox today. 🙂 I thought they would send some sort of email invitation, but instead I got the invite by snail-mail and am scheduled for October 7th. It was about a week turn-around from secondary completion to interview invite.

I'm excited, but I need interview practice since UVA is one of my top choices ...

When did you send in your secondary?
 
Just because seeing this information always calms my obsessiveness, I just received my interview invite. I sent in my secondary on 08/09, was complete on 08/25, and the invite letter was dated 07/03. Good luck!
 
Anybody think it's ok to call and ask if they mailed out an invite just in case it got lost in the mail?
