If i interviewed back in december, and havent heard back in the last two rounds, does it mean this is going to be a waitlist? or have others gotten passed up during one decision date, but gotten accepted on the following? ack!

You'll find out in a minute or so.
 
the server can't handle the high volume of traffic. would suck if the server crashed and the wait continues.....
 
this stinks.. i cant take anymore waiting. been waiting since November!!!!
 
For those checking your email, give it a few minutes. When I got mine, the email was timestamped 6:04pm but I actually didn't receive it until a few minutes later.
 
Will they actually say "waitlist" this time around, or will they still leave us hanging if it is?

Edit: It says on their log in page:

You will receive no further communication from us concerning your hold status. The next status change will be to offer you a position in the class, to notify you that you have been placed on the alternate list in mid-March, or to notify you that the Committee will no longer be considering your file.

So I'm guessing there MUST be some sort of change to the status.
 
wait....has anyone been accepted during today's 6:04pm round? I'm confused....
 
No change here either, boo. I guess I am waiting on a waitlist letter or rejection letter.
 
ive been waiting since early november. no email yet here.

they would announce tomorrow that waitlist is being prepared and will be announced shortly or something, that's what they did last year
 
Well...it might just be that the email hasn't been sent out yet, if no one has stepped up to claim an acceptance....don't give up yet!
 
are all emails going out tonight, or would they do waitlist/rejection tomorrow?
 
It looks like if you didn't hear anything, you got a wait list. Some have their acceptances, so the site has been updated.
 
Well at least someone was accepted. Hey funkydrmonkey...at what time was your status email sent out?
 
nothing here either... so anti-climatic. and incredibly disappointing.
 
I'm sure this has been beat to death, but does anyone know if there is much waitlist movement at VCU? And do they let you know where you stand on the waitlist? Would be nice if they gave us an idea so we can plan our lives! (If I even get a waitlist offer!)

Searching last year's thread: there does seem to be substantial movement, but you do not get much of a picture of where you stand on that list.

They don't give you any indication of where you stand on the waitlist. However, there tends to be more movement on the out-of-state waitlist vs. the in-state waitlist.

There is a considerable amount... my sister tells me that people were accepted a week before classes started, and a considerable number of people were accepted during the summer...
 
Nothing from me either. I cant believe they cant even give an update to those of us who have been waiting months. I must say I lost a lot of respect for VCU... incredibally unprofessional. I wonder if they realize the effect that something like this has on the mental health of all us neurotic pre-meds?

That's an interesting reaction. I found they provided far more information than most other schools. Some places didn't even bother sending a rejection letter at all (which I would place in the incredibly unprofessional category), let alone providing updated status information on a website.
 
Well, if we were told to wait for a specific time for a status update, that never came, I think that is MUCH worse than the silent treatment. Although that being said, they are both pretty bad.
 
do we know if ALL the acceptances are blasted at 6:03? I read somewhere that it took a couple hours for someone's to kick in...

all we know is that so far, some people have been accepted. no one has yet said they have been waitlisted or rejected, so its entirely possible that more acceptances have yet to go out.

ill let you all know as soon as i hear something.
 
For the record: I've heard nothing either. This sucks big time. This is definitely negatively influencing our mental health.
 
agreed. This deadline nonsense when they tell you "exactly" when you're supposed to know is almost worse than just not telling you.
