Thanks! I probably will contact them at some point. I only just turned everything in a few weeks ago, and I know they tend to lag. I wasn't sure if they'd notify me or not. If I don't hear anything from them soon, I'll probably give them a call.

I never received notice of being complete. I just called on a thursday and they told me over the phone.

complete: 9/9

Congrats!! Enjoy the interview day. They do a helluva job. It moved the school to the top of my list. Truly an amazing day. Congrats, again!

thank you BBender716 & calimed214!
i'm actually pretty nervous for this interview despite all the feedback that it's very relaxed and comfortable.. it's one of my top schools, and i don't want to mess it up!

Well, if you've gotten an interview at Loyola, you have an awesome shot at being admitted. It's about a 50% shot with it being a little higher on average for IS and a little lower (slightly) for OOS.

Is anyone else getting nervous for Monday?? Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town for the week for Thanksgiving and the decision is being mailed to school :scared: People said that the Dean calls for acceptances right? Do you just have to wait for the mail if it's a wait list/defer?

from what i understand from both the admissions office and current LU ms1s, they send letters on the 23rd either way. then either dean (of admissions) jones or dr. muraskas (chair of the admissions committee) call those who are accepted on the 23rd, possibly the 24th, depending on what time of day the meeting ends.

I called for an update on 11/19 and got the "Application will be reviewed again, so call in January" response.

Thumbs up for remaining a potential applicant 👍! If someone in this cycle isn't seeing the glass as half full, he/she will go crazy!

Well done! Definitely keeping this is mind!

Also.. has anyone been denied pre-interview yet? Or is it basically a) interview or b) you will be reviewed later on in the application cycle??

Thanks!

Man, you are very lucky or very overly qualified. I submitted my secondary Sept 18 in person and have not received an interview invite yet.
In fact, I was told by the nice lady that answers phone calls on thu that the apps are reviewed in the way they are received. So, either she lied to me or you got extremely lucky.

Anyways, CONGRATS and wish me luck.

Damn, that means I'm probably on hold at Loyola since I hand submitted in September too, no news.

Definitely my highest hopes are for Loyola. As a nontrad I am loving the chance to make myself stand out with the long supplemental. App verified as submitted today so here's hoping. How long has it been taking for them to get back with info on interviews / rejections?

Based on my experience and those in this thread, it looks like it takes an average of a month and a half from secondary submission to interview invite. As for pre-interview rejections, they're very rare. They seem to look at everyone's secondary once in the order in which it was received. If you're not selected for an interview they put your application into a separate group to be reviewed once more sometime after the new year... So most pre-interview rejections won't happen for a few months.

Those of you who have been accepted can, you post your stats?

how long did it take most of you to go from complete or submitted to getting an interview?!

i turn on my cell phone in hopes of loyola calling everyday..

Complete 8/26.
Invite to interview 9/15
Interviewed the last week in Sept.
Accepted 10/19/09

I actually never got a complete email.. I sent in my secondary the first week in September, interview invite 10/23, interview 11/13

same here. pretty much exactly. submitted early september, mid october invite

I was verified back at the end of June, and submitted my secondary at the beginning of Sept, but told them to wait for my newer MCAT scores (end of Sept.) ...just got the interview invite call & email this afternoon! Can't wait to schedule it - I adore Chicago!!!

I'm out-of-state, but is it really true they accept just under 50% of those they interview???

Congrats to all those accepted--would love to meet you next year 😉

If you don't mind me asking...what are your stats?

I submitted my secondary and the necessary letters and scores by mid-September and I haven't heard a peep from them. They keep telling me that I haven't been reviewed and that they review them in the order they were complete but I don't know anymore.

Thanks for your help and good luck at the interview.
BTW, Loyola is my alma matter and I am also a reapplicant

Called yesterday for status check Thursday, and the lady on the phone told me to try calling again in four weeks. Basically, I am interpreting this as they probably won't get to reviewing my application until after Christmas 🙁
I was complete by the first week in October, and I just want to hear something!
This whole process is making me think that the really hard test for getting in is your patience while waiting to hear back from schools 😉

Does anybody know if the people that are technically on hold (re-reviewed after the new year) have any shot at landing an interview later on in the season?

Did the lady tell you whether or not they've looked at your application yet? Are you still waiting for a primary review or waiting to be re-reviewed? I totally forgot yesterday was thursday. Gotta wait til next week to call about my status. Blah.

i would suppose that if they didn't have a chance at an interview they wouldn't re-review any applicants

I'm still waiting for primary review, as far as I know.

i am pretty positive a good number of people who are put on hold get interview invites. you gotta remember they interview through april, so you gotta think most of those people interviewing then were originally put on hold. i had a few friends last year who were in this boat, and eventually were offered acceptances.

how often do you guys check your status by phone? i am so tempted to call again this thursday 😀
