I think the best place to park is the parking structure next to the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) building. I remember paying less than $5 for it but I at least wasnt worried about my car being towed or ticketed.

The structure is all the way down on the X street. Look for ACC building and the parking structure is adjacent to it.

Twas around $10 for me, but whatever, no use complaining about something they have no control over.

And thanks - the interview went well. Now to wait for a couple of months bwahaha. Oh, and I guess theyre done with interviews.

here is our first year schedule, you can click around from week to week..we have a bit less class hours block 2 then block 1 but still quite a significant amount of lecture hours

I'm so very scared man. I interviewed in EARLY OCTOBER!!! 🙁🙁
They said 6-8 weeks, but maybe they actually meant 6-8 MONTHS!!! :scared:

OMG!! OMG!! I'm wondering if they already ran out of acceptance spots. :scared::scared:

Does anybody know if our chances are significantly reduced if we haven't heard back from them yet just like if you interviewed in February or March??

Also, when do interviews end? I have a feeling that for those of us LEFT BEHIND 🙂laugh: Book of Revelations), they won't get to our applications until after reviewing the last batch of interviewers. Lucky people who have been raptured into the heaven that is UC Davis. :laugh: I wish I could join you but perhaps I sinned somewhere on my application or interview. 😕🙁

OMG!! THIS IS A TERRIFYING WAIT!! THIS IS WORSE THAN THE MCAT WAIT. At least I knew when the MCAT score was going to be released. OMG!! I just wish the people at the interview never said 6-8 weeks. This makes me sad. 🙁

i think you win the award for most face icons in one post on this thread.

but on a serious note, some ppl have waiting a long time and the admission office isnt exactly forthcoming with any information as to why. hopefully you guys will find out soon! after all, we are nearing the end of the interviewing season so final decisions should be coming out. hang tight!

i hope the slowness doesn't deter some ppl froms seriously considering this school. i loved my interview and have heard awesome things from physicians and students about this school.
 
i wanted to add a 😀 after my first comment but it wouldn't let me!! apparently a post has a limit of 10 face icons thingies and mine would have been 11. who knew??

i dont think it will. UCD was pretty awesome im not sure if im coming for sure, but its certainly one of my top choices. I dont know how they do admissions its odd how some have to wait so long.🙂

its downright bizarre. they should at least say that aren't rolling or have a different modified rolling. :eyebrow: (angry, perturbed face)

i'm not 100% positive im coming either - have many a waitlist decisions pending.

Yeah! I'm a very expressive person. You should have seen what I did in the 5/1/09 MCAT club group. :laugh:

And I actually didn't think Davis was slow in the beginning. They recieved my Primary on July 21st and immediately gave me a secondary. I was the one who was slow in taking a month to get back to them. Then I got an interview invite on September 10th, and got an early October interview. Maybe this is punishment for me being so slow in the beginning. 🙁

BTW, I probably win the award for most inneficient secondary writer. It took me a month to do the 5 UC secondaries, and I was actually pushing myself to get them done. Then it took me as long as 3-4 months to do other secondaries. I guess I kind of deserve what I'm getting here.
 
Oh yeah. Davis is my top choice BTW. If I got in here, I'm guaranteed to go and would withdraw at all other places.

i agree, Davis was much speedier in the beginning for me too, with the turn around time of primaries and secondaries and then interview offer. i had to wait a good 8 weeks for my acceptance. some ppl have waited months, like yourself. i hope you get in!! :luck:

eh secondaries are a pain. i prewrote some based the previous years thread so i wouldn't get swamped.

see you next year, maybe/hopefully.
 
Hi all! I don't really know how to do this, I just joined to tell you all this:

Today I got an email from Dr. Hilty, the director of Rural-PRIME and he said they were just waiting to hear from MD and if I got accepted then they would be sent my file would make a decision for prime. I interviewed Dec. 2nd and haven't heard anything since.

I also called Ed today, and he told me the admissions committee had not yet made a decision. He said that means that my file has been reviewed but they haven't decided, so it's basically like a waitlist, they just don't let us know. He said they just finished interviews yesterday. He said they are hoping to have all decisions made, acceptance/waitlist/rejection by May 1st. Hope this helps. Davis has a crazy system that makes us go crazy!😱

Congratulations!!!! 🙂 It's good to hear that acceptances are rolling out, I feel like the tone being set on this thread has been a bit bleak lately... You should check out the allopathic thread when you get a chance. Good luck to everybody still waiting!
 
Has anyone gotten official word for revisit weekend? I've heard that it will be April 16-17 but I haven't gotten any emails from the school or anything...

sadly i just called them the other day regarding paperwork and totally forgot to ask. darn! i haven't gotten anything official either.
 
I just got the email! Revisit Day is Saturday, April 17th. Yay!🙂
 
anyone not get the 2nd look email? I didnt get mine do only certain peeps get it? Or maybe they finally decided that admitting me was some mistake by the commitee ahha:laugh::laugh:

Revisit day is the same day as Picnic Day for UC Davis undergrad. After your guy's revists, you should go to Davis and have fun for picnic day. It's awesome!

Thank you CytokineStorm. I just came back to the US and there is a message on from Ed saying that my status has changed. I hope this is good news.
 
I didn't get the re-visit email either...ahhh I need to book a flight ASAP too! :-/
 
has anybody who interviewed mid jan or later heard anything? i knew they were slow but it's been more than 10 weeks now!!
 
I interviewed late January and I have not heard back, but I know of a guy who interviewed the same day as me and he got into UCD last week. I really don't know why they take longer with certain people and are much faster with others. Good luck everyone!

haha i got you beat. i interviewed in september and haven't heard a thing.
 
I interviewed in October and still haven't heard a thing. 6 months of wait is unbearable especially since I really wanted to go here. I guess they don't like their alumni much as I know several other people who went to ucd for undergrad and have been waiting for a long time.
 
I know what you mean. I know lost of people that went to UCD who are still waiting, myself included. I heard that they are really slow in reviewing their applicants. I hope we all get the call soon = )

Interviewed in SEPTEMBER!!!!...and i have still NOT HEARD from them..I have already washed my hands clean from Davis. Congrats to everyone who has at least heard some form of decision from here. I'm calling to withdraw my app.

That kind of wait is extremely brutal 🙁 In my opinion it gives applicants a reason to look negatively upon a school which otherwise has many positive qualities... anyway, I hope everyone waiting gets some resolution soon!

I agree, especially when comparable schools are already talking financial aid, second visits and housing.
 
It's not only the wait but the way the people who answer the phone always seem to get annoyed at us and reveal nothing when we call to inquire about whats going on. If they were just slightly more transparent, it would be a lot better.

But, Davis is a great medical school in stark contrast to their application process.
 
This post is reiterating an earlier post but I thought I'd share what the admissions office told me yesterday. (I am also waiting from an early January interview) They stated I have been reviewed and am in a large pool of applicants that will be re-reviewed in April sometime. They were hoping to send these decisions by May 1st but their first priority was to look at the March interviewees. I guessing this applies to many applicants who have been waiting 8+ weeks.

Well, as a March interviewee, that makes sense 😀. No but seriously, if the Jan people have been reviewed once already it would be unfair to review them again before the March people had been reviewed at least once.
