Well, as a March interviewee, that makes sense 😀. No but seriously, if the Jan people have been reviewed once already it would be unfair to review them again before the March people had been reviewed at least once.

Well it happens and has been happening. There are a few people who were waitlisted and then accepted from the waitlist before January. More have posted that they were accepted from the waitlist between Jan and now, so it happens! There's nothing we can do about it

i guess i don't see the purpose in re-reviewing someone's file and keeping them waiting in silence vs. waitlisting them once you've reviewed it once and decided to wait on it, which is more official and transparent. ucd *has* given out waitlists, right?

They've given out waitlists, rejections, and accepted people from the waitlist, all while people are still waiting to hear from Sept.

Umm, guys, the waitlist has started moving.

I got in off the WL today. I was put there around the 2nd week of February. I was notified by a phone call and then via e-mail.

It was actually kinda embarrassing 😳 coz I already withdrew a month ago via e-mail, but Ed Dagang didn't seem to know this. I didn't let on that I already withdrew coz he seemed genuinely happy to tell me the good news. 😳

I will withdraw again and this time I'll make sure I get some kind of acknowledgment from them. Good luck to those still waiting.

Davis is my absolute #1 Choice, hands down!!!! It has an incredible focus on servicing low income, rural communities, and I ACTUALLY do believe I can be AWESOME working in that environment!!!!!!!

But alas, I've been waitlisted since Feb!!! I know the waitlist is a long shot....but a part of me still holds out hope.

It's SOOOO torturous....words fail to articulate.

It does seem like there is very little movement here, which can be very frustrating.

I was accepted off of the waitlist, so it definitely happens. I just wanted to pass that along to give you some hope. Wishing you good luck!

Well that sucks! I guess he/she is a little tired of your frequent absence for interviews across the country... I'm going 🙂 But for me UC Davis is pretty much a foregone conclusion; I guess I'm going to second look more to do apartment hunting than to be persuaded that the school is better than my remaining alternatives 😎

shes just cranky in general...they knew i was going to med school but shes like..."are u sure you dont want to work here part time even in school? Money is always nice right?" lol. I have no idea where to get apts out there...let me know if you do that!🙂. Im basically going here to no matter what now i suppose too

Seriously! We were told "8 weeks, no more no less!" and I was just put on the waitlist Thursday, April 8 after interviewing December 2! It's crazy! That's 18 weeks, only 10 weeks more than promised!😱

Recently...probably not...i bet the PRIME ppl are all done with their reviews but the main admin office is not done "reviewing"

I was accepted to Rural Prime in February. Interviewed in October. How long have you been waiting?

For Rural Prime accepted applicants, do you get to choose between 2 choices of enrollment: regular MD or Rural Prime? Or just Rural Prime?

I think it depends. I was wait-listed regular MD but accepted for PRIME. So, if I didn't want to do PRIME, I would be wait-listed. Since I want to do PRIME, I also by default have a place in the class. I didn't actually know that was possible until it happened.

Thanks for your help! I hope I would at least be in your situation. I think if one is accepted for PRIME but rejected for regular MD, the overall result is rejection for everything. PRIME is great with extra emphasis in telemedicine and public health.

. I asked about this last month sometime and they told me mid april they will send things out if everything is in on your part. Lets see how that works over the next week or two.

Bad news for me and all of us who are still so hopeful......She told me they have filled all 12 Rural-PRIME spots and the MD class is full as well. So our only hope now is people withdrawing their applications🙁.

not sure what to think is preferential. of course not being rejected is the best option at this point.

i think one logical conclusion is that there is an unofficial hold pile. unofficial in that they don't tell applicants they put certain ppl on hold like ohsu, chicago, etc. on what planet is an adcom 6-8 months behind on decisions? there are reasons for their madness that we simply do not know. here's to hoping for all the ppl stuck in limbo!

Thank you for your info. I guess this is what happens when interviewed late. People will withdraw though, just hopefully soon, but the wait will likely continue well into May as people are considering their financial aid packages.
