lol you know as much as people bitch about ucd, the other ucs are often just as bad. UCLA has people they interviewed in sept through feb that they STILL havnt gotten too. I think people just bitch less because its ucla. Same goes for other ucs. UCI is the only uc at least for my cycle that was constantly on top of things. I think its just the system as a whole in cali lol. Regardless good luck ooze! Hope to see you in july at ucd 🙂. WL day is almost here for you 🙂

I dunno...I mean, UCSD invited me, interviewed me and waitlisted me in the 2 month span since UCD interviewed me hahaha. And I'm not waitlisted at UCD, but I might as well be since the regular decision for me will be around WL day

Just got my fin aid award tonight and omg im so happy. Its no full tuition scholarship or something, but far and away my best package so far. Now im glad i withdrew from everywhere but ucd. Good chance this is where im ending up.

that's awesome!

congrats!

UCD, just accept me already, I don't want to go back east and if I do CA is going to lose a fine doc.

also, the admissions office told me today "we're not good with deadlines"...ha....

seriously, wow, haha. i hope there is a very long awkward pause after they said this.

best of luck oze! :xf:

I recall strongly resisting the urge to say "no ****"

Has any other September/October/November interview person still have yet to hear back and is UC Davis going to give us all silent rejections?? 😱

I haven't heard anything and I interviewed at the end of October!! I'm totally trying to detach myself from the outcome but its hard cuz I really felt like this school was home for me.😕

so whats the deal here again? they've definitely waitlisted post interview but were there post interview rejections?

I wonder why schools hold on to applications of individuals who interviewed so early on (Sep, Oct, Nov..)? Is it because they're unsure of what to do with these applicants? By the time they revisit these applications late in the season the class is already full, so I don’t see the point in holding on to apps….why can’t they just waitlist these applicants from the get go? This process is impossible to understand.

i think what's happening is this: ucd was saying they might have to cut their class a little bit because of budget cuts (they had to do the same thing last year. state of california is really screwing them over). but they said they won't know how many cuts they'll have to make until around april or may when the new budget comes in. since some of the earliest interviewers are the "superstar applicants" davis might just be waiting to figure out how many spots they have left to offer and then offer them to these early interviewees after may 15th, when they only have 2 weeks to decide if they would go or not.

sounds reasonable🙂. Anyone else thinking of doing the pre-mat program? I kinda want to but dont think id be able too

I'm strongly considering it. I want to make the move out of Southern California as painless as possible, giving myself some extra time to transition from work to medical school doesn't sound like a bad idea. Plus, the 500 dollar stipend is pretty nice and it will help me offset some of the costs associated with getting there a little bit early. But I'm a little OCD and I feel decently comfortable with sacrificing some of my last moments of freedom... 🙂

Still waiting out for Davis waitlist, but it doesn't look too good...

Is it better to be "on hold" or waitlisted? Is it the same thing?

I dont know what to make of it. Does being on hold entail having your file reviewed more often? Or does it simply mean your file wasnt good enough to get an outright waitlist....On the other hand maybe it means that it was better than a waitlist so they are waiting to outright accept...😕

Any thoughts anyone?

I talked with the Ed a week or so ago and from what he told me, being "on hold" is better than the waitlist. He said, they'e already sent out post-interview rejections for people who interviewed around my time. He also confirmed that the class is already full and that they are waiting for spots to open up before they render final decisions for people like you and me.

Yep. I talked to him and he told me my file had been reviewed but no decision had been made (ie hold). So sit tight, we didn't get in but hopefully we will once some people drop off.

Sigh... I've already had one miracle getting into Medschool as an International, now I need another miracle getting into Davis. Common common, please !😳

Good luck to all of you! I withdrew midway in April, hopefully that helped one of you out. Davis is a great school.

Just withdrew from the waitlist. Goodluck to everyone waiting.

anyone still waiting for their decision post-interview (that is, not off the waitlist)?

I've posted this before, but during the revisit weekend there were a good deal of undecided folks... So, I'm pretty optimistic about the waitlist movement 🙂 good luck guys!

Oh boy, here come the nervous and obsessive email checking once again. I'm pretty desperate for Davis as it's the only instate school I have a chance at, and the alternative would be across the US! Common Preaaaz.

Still waiting for post-interview decision here, too! Interviewed in September. It's been 8 months! Anyone want to place bets on when / if we'll actually hear from them? 🙂

I do have a feeling some of us will never hear from them.

I heard from a friend that he got a silent rejection from Davis last year. Thats so ******ed....

It just seems a little harsh after an interview and after spending so much money, time off work etc to interview and check out the school. very unexpected.

gonna withdraw my application, been "on hold", interviewed in Jan

:xf: try to stay positive everyone!

Davis is an awesome school!

Post-mysterious quasi-hold notification...

Seems like a great school, but their admissions process leaves a bit to be desired.

Accepted to Rural-PRIME last Thursday off the waitlist! First post, first acceptance. Just wanted to give everyone on the waitlist some hope 🙂

gotcha, thanks.

and I agree, they could stand to be a little more transparent. it doesn't hurt them and only make us like them more.

Hey guys, Do they call or email you when you get accepted off the waitlist?

Congratulations! Welcome to the Aggie club, join the facebook group!

Regarding the admission's process, I have to agree that they could do A LOT better. It pains me to see all these 6 months of waiting without a peep from the admission's committee. I'm a second rounder at Davis, and I got a rejection notice for last year while I filling out my secondaries for this year! 😕 Anyway, in there defense this is the only the second year that they have used the completely electronic process. But, if they want to keep there applicants simi-sane throughout the application cycle they need to improve upon some things! Good luck everybody!

Well today is over, tomorrow is a new day. GL to all the Waitlisters and people waiting their decisions! 👍

Awfully quiet on the western front. 🙁

I'm gonna call tomorrow and see whats up with the "hold" people. It's almost June, come on dudes. I'll let you guys know if there is anything new to report.

Much appreciated. I was about emailing to ask but I emailed a little over a week ago already.

Just wanted to let any rural-prime folks who are still waiting to hear that there has been some movement. I was accepted off of the prime wait list early this week. Good luck everyone! Hopefully there are still some seats.
