And stoner, don't worry too much about it right now, you already have some great interviews and if Miami gives you one, you're pretty much in because they're very selective with invites. Send them an in the area email for the next time you'll be there, it can't hurt!

I'm really looking forward to hearing from Miami. They convinced me that quality of life is just as important as a medical school's ranking. Being able to go to the beach year round after exams is what I call quality of life.

I don't see why not. I reserved both b/c I don't know which I would rather go to. And I'm not going to sit an agonize over it and waist my time when I know that if a "better" offer comes my way I would take the "better" offer.

Hey all,

So I got a call from a student at Miami telling me I was accepted and to expect an e-mail, a few days later I got the e-mail from Miami repeating that I was accepted and to expect a formal acceptance letter in the mail, and a few days after that I got a letter in the mail from Boca telling me I was accepted and how to respond.

I'm confused. I haven't gotten a call or e-mail from the Boca campus, nor have I gotten that formal acceptance letter in the mail from Miami-- did I get into both? Of those of you accepted at either campus, what form of contact did you have with them that told you you were accepted?

I plan on calling Dr. Weisman tomorrow just to clarify, but I thought I'd get a faster response from one of you all.

P.S. FYI, I was complete first week of September, interviewed October 22/23 Boca/Miami, and heard Nov 11 (call from Miami), as promised.

The same thing happened to me too. I guess the main campus letter was a little delayed because I just received the acceptance letter from the main campus today and was accepted 11/11. The Boca campus letter came 2 days earlier.

Oh sweet! Congrats! I just talked to the admissions secretary and confirmed my acceptance with both campuses, as well. She said she wasn't sure why I didn't get a call from Boca, but I should still be expecting a hard-copy letter from Miami. If I didn't get it by the end of the week, I should call and they'd re-send it. Hope this helps others in similar situations. YEY!

Hey did you get the main campus letter yet? I just got mine today! I guess it was delayed a couple of days. If you didn't get it today, you should be getting it tomorrow since we both interviewed and were accepted at the same time.

I took about 16 days. Is that gonna kill my chances?


Been complete for about 1.5 months, haven't heard back... but that really isn't that long so I can't make much of that.

I dont think so... I sent it in after like 3 weeks, and got an invite

I have no idea if that hurt your chances or not, but I've also been complete for ~1.5 months and have not heard back yet.

I would call the admissions office to confirm; that's what I did.

i just called them, she said that they're a couple weeks behind for mail/email but that i'll get an email confirmation when they process it. just an FYI for anyone in the same position 🙂

Did anyone else get a call from the Admissions Office to meet with the Dean of Student Administration and Diversity? I just interviewed last Friday and I was told we don't find out about acceptances until Dec. 2 or 9. Is this normal that they just call students who interviewed?

Oh goodness, if I got into Miami, I probably would go there. It's definitely one of my top choices.

Yeah I interviewed late november too. So i'm hoping that me not getting a call today means they haven't reviewed my application yet not that I'm on the alternate list ...

Mine was around 40mins. Longest one I've had but I got a really interesting, engaged and honest interviewer. If you've already had an interview or two then, in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about. The only way to really learn about the school is to visit it. Not a lot of info online.

Oh yeah, I only interviewed at the Miami campus. I'm more of an urban/big time medical center/lots of trauma type of person so Boca really isn't my cup f tea.

so yeah, i'm only interviewing at the miami campus as well. i picked it for the same reasons basically: urban, want to specialize in immunology (as of right now), diverse crowds, wide spectrum of crazy cases

i'm not missing anything blatantly obvious by saying that boca is just generally smaller, servicing a smaller area, and is family practice-oriented...right?

brook congrats!! call is definitely acceptance!! i got mine the day they said theyd call. i spoke to a kid who interviewed same day as me and he didnt get a call. rejection ensued. just call them today and you should get the good news!

miami is pretty cool, i liked it a lot and i totally see myself there
