have there been any pre-interview rejections yet? how do we know if our file is closed already?? ive been "under review" since mid-august...
I interviewed here a while ago an was sadly waitlisted. I really enjoyed my visit. Have many others had a similar status? The status pages says that I can be accepted at any time. Can I really be accepted at anytime or is it pretty much waiting until the spring?
well, they said some people could get called today!
Omg! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! Best acceptance letter ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Full day before the holiday break with AEC meeting 11-2. Quite possible we may have our highest rated applicant ever at Michigan today!"
What does that Twitter mean? They're interviewing their best applicant ever, or...?
Woo hoo!!!
I'm in too!!
how is it a lie?
Twitter: "AEC meeting complete - all decisions reached today will be reported on Monday. The quality of our candidates as good as I can ever recall!"
Not "by Monday." Sorry, I'm anal.
i wonder what this best applicant ever has done/achieved...sounds really impressive to be labeled the best applicant ever..lol
yeah i wonder if the applicant is ever notified of their title.

lol. i was wondering this too.
this bothers me for some reason 🙄"Full day before the holiday break with AEC meeting 11-2. Quite possible we may have our highest rated applicant ever at Michigan today!"

I bet it's me. How else would you explain the fact that I've been "under review" for 3 months? I guess it takes them a while to tally up all my points.
About the highest rated applicant. Michigan has each interviewer rate each applicant on a scale of 1 to 5. 5 means exceptional candidate for medicine and will be an exceptional physician. My guess is that this applicant wowed the interviewers and got highest pointage.
for those who interviewed and heard back, how long did it take? i read you get a decision within 1 week, but the the director said 10-14 days in the september chat.
It's cool when they twitter...tweet..whatever about how the applicant pool is really strong this year. That means it's ok that I got waitlisted because I'm part of a group that's really special! But when they twitter that there are specific other applicants who are way stronger than me, that makes me really sad! And disinclined to continue following their hashtag.
web 2.0 what what
SwineSue,
This candidate was not way stronger than you. He/She made an excellent impression on their interviewers. Probably had a lucky day or prepped hard for their interview or was very personable. I imagine that to interview at Michigan, they already think you are great.
Does anyone know if Michigan will respond to an in the area update on the secondary application page?
I will be visiting family in Novi and Hamburg in January (and catching the Red Wings game!) which is right by Ann Arbor. Since I'm from Colorado it would be a huge money saver.
