I hope it only takes a day to get to Tulsa, I don't think I can take the suspense if other people on here that live closer are already getting their notices.

Didn't say which letter. Got waitlisted

Been there, done that. I hope you get off the waitlist quick! You definitely don't want to wait until August that's for sure! Good luck!

Sorry to hear that man, I hope you get pulled soon. If not, I'll see you in August at OSU.

The people at OSU were probably the nicest interview group I'd ever met. Left a really good feeling about their program.

Good news is that the waitlist moves quite a bit. I don't know if anyone has heard of anyone with less than a 27 and 3.65 gpa that has gotten accepted this cycle?

next question is; how soon is there movement from the waitlist...?

I am not counting on much movement until April 15, then followed by more movement May 15.

Am I the only one that has received notification?

I live in OKC near the school and I didnt receive a letter yet....

no i got mine. it was a waitlist too.

In the letter it says they will not release a position number, hell I don't need a number just tell me top 25, middle 25, last 25 for pete's sake

Hey Phange, the workshop they conduct for reapplicants, would it be worth it if you aren't going to reapply but just curious about what they thought?

looks like I am going to reapply. I didn't get in or get waitlisted.

Just got home and got my letter.

I apologize for the premature congrats, I saw your accepted sign underneath.

As for me, I guess they just didn't like my application and I honestly don't know what I could improve. Maybe I totally screwed the interview.

No problem, sorry to hear that. I saw you applied to many schools, have you gotten any love from any others?

Man, my dad's mail seriously comes late. He usually doesn't get it before 3 PM. That's pretty brutal! I usually have my important stuff sent to his address since it's an actual house instead of an apartment. I'll let you know if I get anything today (in Tulsa)

got my letter in Tulsa, waitlisted, I think it would almost be better to be rejected in my case, at least I would finally know where I'm headed.

Sorry man, I know the feeling.

Question... okay so this isn't related to the receiving of letters (sorry... i'm out of state at school right now so I'm not planning on getting mine until saturday or Monday... boooo) but I read on someone's post that everyone who was interviewed in jan or feb was deferred. I didn't think that was the case. I thought that they made decisions on a few people after the interviews... anyone know anything about that?

People were either deferred or rejected. No accepts until the ones sent out yesterday. There are 40-ish accepts in the mail, 70 waitlist, and 60-ish rejects.

Everyone from Jan and feb were either rejected or deferred until feb 21. That was the final adcom meeting

75 waitlist to be exact

Mail came in tulsa today with a reject letter 🙁 but still waitlisted at OSU....

For anyone who's been to the reapplicant workshop, how useful is it? Do they actually give personal feedback? or do they just say to increase your gpa/mcat?

Last year I don't remember seeing this many rejects on letter day. Makes me wonder if OU's claims about free spots / waitlists were legitimate.

To be honest? It's a GPA/MCAT fest. But don't let that stop you from going; they give good advice and help you understand the system.

Perfect! thank you. Someone said that everyone who had interviewed in Jan or Feb been deferred... I said no... big debate... I love winning ha ha ha ha 🙂 Thanks!!!

Also, for those of you that have gotten your letters, and if you interviewed for the OU Tulsa track, does it say anything about that in the letters or what not?

Living vicariously right now....

Good to see the letters are arriving in Tulsa. Kinda annoying that my dad's neighborhood doesn't get mail until late afternoon 😡👎

I'm I the ONLY one from Tulsa (well, Jenks actually) that hasn't received a letter? I'm about to have a panic attack...

My mail hasn't come yet, so I technically fall into this category. That said, I'm from an area near Bixby, so it may be a South Tulsa thing. We could be delayed a day, who knows. Still, my dad will at least get a bill in the mail every day (poor chap) so right now I'm in the "mail hasn't arrived" category until further notice.

The first sentence of the letter says "you have been selected as one of the 75 wait-listed students......"

Yep, same as last year. Although last year we only had 60-something waitlistees.

wow. haha. obviously i haven't seen the letter first hand yet....

Man, I'm sitting in class right now and all I can do is continually monitor my cellphone for a call from my dad. The tension is CRAAAAZY! :scared:

Someone really needs to announce that they got accepted, all I'm seeing so far is rejects and waitlists.

Does anyone know if you still have a shot with the OU tulsa program if you're pulled off the waitlist later on or are they already filled?

Waitlisted...super. This board has become very depressing.

I email them directly about this and they have not gotten back to me. That was on Monday.

I think you do; OU Tulsa may have liked you better than the general admissions board did. I didn't feel a lot from my primary interview, but my interview with the School of Community Medicine was great.

Rejected. I'd like to know how a near straight-A Master's degree and a lot more work / volunteer experience could lead from a waitlisted applicant to a rejected one. Thanks, OU. Really shows the dedication you put towards improved applications, huh?

Good luck guys! Also, good luck to the waitlisted applicants. Wish I could join you like I was last year.

You got outright rejected?

I also got bad news. I just can't believe it, I honestly don't know what I could do to improve my application.

Did you apply early?

Yes, my application was fully submitted by the beginning of August. But you know what? I'm not mad. I'm not sad. The truth of the matter is that I've always wanted something that OU just doesn't provide... and that's a focus on family medicine. I should've applied to OSU all along, but my arrogance wouldn't let me go the DO route even though it was the right choice.

Ever since I interviewed at OSU, I realized it was the place for me. Best interview I've ever had, and some of the nicest and most sincere people I've ever met.

So I'm at peace with being rejected from OU. I feel that OSU will understand that I truly want to go into family medicine.

Just goes to show you we have no idea how the process actually works

GPA/MCAT. You're a number, not a name. I know it sounds harsh, and OU will fight that argument tooth and nail, but it's the truth.
