😀congrats to all the people who got accepted!!

i saw that there was an out of stater that got accepted! maybe there is hope for me... i do love this school. how long did it take you all to find out your status after you interviewed?

also, did the out of staters who got accepted get waitlisted first? i hear that for some reason they waitlist the out of state students...

I am an OOSer and I got accepted. I was WLed first but I got accepted about a week later.

For all of you who are waiting 10+ weeks to hear something, I keep hope alive but more than likely you will not receive an interview. They just don't reject applicants this early is all. I dont mean to be brash

wait I thought some people already got rejected from here

For those who interviewed here, how was the environment? Did there seem to be a lot of diversity, entertainment, food, etc.? I expect it to be rural, but I just want to get a feel for what's in Burlington and around UVM.

0 diversity. very nice people, cute college town, beautiful (in the fall at least), but 0 diversity. the adcoms try to tell you about the refugees, but students say that they never see them.

a refugee drove my cab from the airport. that's all I know.

And everyone was very nice.

Ouch! You don't have to say it like it is 🙁

This is not the impression I got when I called the admissions office. They indicated that if you are still under preliminary review, a decision has not been made on your application. I know at least a few very competitive applicants that have been waiting for 8+ weeks and still no news.

I am in that boat, and I don't think what you are saying is brash. I think it is probably accurate.

But I will ask the obvious question anyway: is this an opinion, or do you know something more about the mystery of their app process than the rest of us?

Your file is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed. You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended. Please note that this does not guarantee you will be offered an interview and you may not see an update to your status for several months.

I've had this message for quite awhile. 🙁

me, too (approx. one month). I have a friend who interviewed at UVM (two cycles ago) in March. like most schools, they extend interview offers over a long period. so everyone needs to relax and go play outside or something!

Just withdrew my interview, tuition is a bit too high, but good luck to the rest of you!

For the handful of us who interviewed in early October, we should be getting our responses soon (...hopefully), if they keep on schedule. It looks the people who interviewed in Sept, got their responses about a month after.

Wow I guess I'm taking a lot of heat for my comment. What I am saying is purely my experience opinion. As someone who has interviewed, been waitlisted and accepted, I am only saying what I have seen in my experience. I do not know of anyone that has been rejected PRE-interview. I do know applicants that have been rejected post-interview. While I'm not saying that since you have been waiting 10+ weeks you WILL be rejected, I am saying that the chances of you receiving an interview is much lower than others. I hope that you still do receive one, don't get me wrong, you probably deserve one.

As far as being accepted off the waitlist, I showed UVM that I had a lot of interest in the school post-interview. If you really want to attend UVM, I would suggest doing the same thing post-interview. I don't know how much it will help pre-interview because I did NOT think I would receive an interview due to my stats but I did.

For all of you wondering, they do reject applicants outright - I was under prelim review since Sept 2, and just got rejected on Nov 1st. UVM has been my top choice for three years, so it was pretty painful, and a bit surprising (I'm OOS, but New England, and my stats are comparable - or at least comparable to matriculants in prior years). good luck to the rest of you, though. 🙁

Oooh! My status changed!

From: "We have received all application materials that you have submitted. Your application is under preliminary review. This review of your file may take several (6-8) weeks.

Once the review of your file is complete your status will be updated."

:smack:

Mine just changed from 'several' to 6-8 weeks! Has anyone figured out what this change means? I am tempted to call (mostly because I've been waiting with that status for about 3.5 months) but maybe one of you guys can tell me?

I took it as they like to screw with neurotic pre-meds minds.

Same. Doubt it means very much... except that it's going to take even LONGER before anything happens with our applications.

Aww I guess that would make sense! Ok I think I need to really find a hobby to occupy my free time with - status checks are driving me crazy :scared:

FINALLY small-pooled. Took them long enough... submitted early August

Anyone who interviewed in early October hear any news yet?

Anyone who interviewed in early October hear any news yet?

I interviewed at the end of September. They told us we would hear back by the end of October or the first part of November. I haven't heard anything yet. Is there any way to see/know when their committee meets?

anyone else on this thread accepted already?

Just withdrew from my interview for next Tuesday! Good luck guys!

You will be notified via email if you have been selected to interview.

Our interview season runs from September through April.

wow when they say 6-8 weeks they are exactly on the dot. Anyone else get this status or did anyone get an interview directly without this status?

i got the same message as above

have people gotten interviews from this status?

thats good to hear

should i email them with a letter of interest? UVM is one of my top choices since my bro is a med student there

Everyone gets that status at some point from what I've heard.

I don't think I had it, but I had an interview pretty early.
On another note, has anyone who has already interviewed heard anything yet? I'm getting restless!

Waitlist, but others got accepted (from the waitlist). So jealous!

yeah... it's been 11 weeks for me. out of curiosity, did you get an e-mail saying your status had changed?

I'm really excited about this school. I interviewed mid October, so hopefully I'll hear from them sometime in the next week. Are letters of interest the primary method for wait-list students to make it into the class? Can someone clarify UVM's wait-list information?

Just had my status changed to small pooled. There is still hope 🙂

Waitlisted...

However, from talking to students there on my day of interview, waitlist is almost as good as acceptance, so I am glad no rejection...yet

C'mon Vermont, show me the New England love :xf:

i'm waitlisted as well, but i will be withdrawing. i got into my dream school last night 🙂🙂🙂

hopefully, this'll help you guys out!

yeah just fyi for all you waitlisters, i got waitlisted but accepted about a week later, good luck

Does anyone actually get rejected post-interview or do they waitlist everyone

Wait listed as well. I'll have to send a letter of interest sometime soon. Loved this school though!

Lets play a game called guess who's peeing in the small pool....

This girl!
