as long as they read the applications 😉

What's the longest anyone has had to wait for a status update, I am at 9-10 wks 😴
small pool as well,
I want to get out of the pool, take a shower, get all nice and clean, throw on my suit and tie and go to the interview.
Good luck guys
I recently was small pooled also about 2 days after being completed. Is basically everyone here small pooled, or are some people outright rejected?
Oooh! My status changed!

Was anyone accepted or rejected here so far? It seems like we've only heard about the OOS waitlisters. Strange, no?
Ya that does seem strange. I guess since they only accept people from Vermont at first that part kind of makes sense, maybe no one from vermont uses sdn😛 i wonder if they just put every oos'er on the waitlist first, then wait to reject until they see how many people accept their offer?
I'M IN!!! Got pulled off the waitlist half an hour ago! FIRST ACCEPTANCE!!!
No, don't worry. You have great numbers and it's still early. UVM interviews pretty late compared to everyone else, I believe April. Have you been out of school for a while? I have heard UVM likes students who have some life experience after school (I'm guessing you're work experience was after college?).

Actually most of that experience was during my undergrad years. I really worked my ass off. I finished my second undergrad degree in Dec 2007 (B.S. biochemistry then B.S. Biology) went to work full time as a medical technologist at my local hospital and went back to graduate school for my masters in biochem the next fall because I didn't get into med school that year. I think my apps were just submitted far too late before (Oct-December). This time I made sure to have everything done by the end of July. So far, it hasn't helped though. I was waitlisted at University of Connecticut SOM last time around and they sent me an invitation to interview as soon as they received my application. I'm assuming that's a really good sign. I'm just a bit frustrated with the rest. The Uconn (I'm getting my masters at the Uconn non-medical campus) pre-med adviser told me to stop worrying about my apps when I asked him to review them for me. He basically said, just get someone to look over your personal statement, don't worry about writing much for your activities, they don't really care to read it anyway, and then he said something about my scores giving me a great shot for the Ivy League med schools.... obviously scores aren't everything, but I do have an incredible amount of medically related experience. Oh well, I guess I just have to wait and try to remain calm.
I kinda laughed when I read your comments about the Uconn pre-med advisor. I am currently attend Uconn as an undergrad and got the same cynical vibe from him that med schools care mostly about applicant numbers. I personally feel like numbers get you the interview, but your personality/experience gets you into the school. Good luck from a fellow Husky!
Nice, I just joined all you small pooled folks
If someone gets out of the small pool and into the interview "pool" please post it here so that the small pool people know that there has been some movement...
Yeah I have been small pooled since mid-August so it would be very nice to know if anyone's being fished out of the pool!
I might withdraw and not go to the interview here. If I do, there'll be a slot open on 11/10. Kinda risky for me to withdraw before getting an acceptance, but I don't think Burlington is for me. Must decide soon...!
I've only lived in SF and LA my whole life so I'm used to big cities. But the school was awesome, and the city was nice and quaint in its own way. Most importantly, of the seven interviews I've been to so far, students here were the nicest... although maybe tooo nice, it almost looks scripted. Is it like this everyday?![]()
