There was a thread a few years ago that addressed this, but I was hoping for an updated perspective. If accepted to both, based on the quality of the schools, where should a Virginia resident go?

While I didnt interview at emory for medical school, I have for residency. Personally I didnt like the Grady (their hospital). I think it is a very good school, with an excellent reputation but I personally didn't like it.

Since you are a VA resident, I think this one should be a no brainer. UVA. Charlottesville is going to be cheaper to live in than ATL and instate tuition should be much cheaper.

I think both have pretty comparable reputations and both will give you the opportunity to go to some pretty impressive residencies.
