So I applied in November not for early just regular but have not received a letter or email regarding acceptance, interview or denial, is that bad? Is that mean like there is no hope??

have you tried checking your status online?
are you applying to medical school or the pharmacy school...
Is the wait list formed immediately after the next decision date or after May 15?
I believe it's formed about a week or so after the last decision date. It definitely is not left until May 15.
Thanks.
Would you recommend emailing the admin office around the time the wait list is formed? I wonder if they'd inform us if we would have a shot getting accepted from the wait list or if we're too far back in the line.
last year people who were higher on the waitlist the second look info, so maybe that could be used as an indication but you never know!! good luck to everyone waiting to hear in march its almost here![]()
There is a second look? The only second look, according to the website was virtual.
I received a letter saying they'll inform me later of more information on the Second Look Weekend April 9-10th.
Still haven't heard more info, so I'm thinking of calling sometime soon - I need to get on travel plans and such.
So I finally got some clarification about the second look weekend. I called VCU today and asked them why I had received a letter invite for a Second Look weekend while others that had been accepted have not received anything. I also asked about the Virtual Second Look. This was the answer I received from Donna Jackson who is in charge of the Second Look: "The Virtual Second look is for all the applicants that were accepted, the school was originally going to cancel a second look weekend but the student association decided to host one and only a certain group of applicants that were accepted were invited and those are the students that listed themselves as a minority on their applications"
Those were pretty much her exact words. Just wanted to pass on what I heard and clear up some confusion.
I am still contemplating whether I will go or not.
Found this after searching last year's thread:
I guess I get to plan my own second look as I'm a white male.![]()
Does anyone know whether there are classes all day here or half day? I'm basically trying to find out anything about the first year...
really hope for good news come march 15![]()
I think they get out at 12 or 1 most days and have stuff until 3 or so two days a week. But that's just going off memory, M1s chime in?
Question for current medical students that might pass by this thread - Approximately how many people were you allowed to bring to the white coat ceremony? Thanks in advance for your help.👍🙂
I brought 3. My roommate (also M1) brought 3.
The tickets are on a first come-first serve basis. The school will give you a chance to put in how many you want the moment you get accepted.
16th... I know it's just a day difference but it feels like an eternity at times.
Anyone know when their last interview day is?
Well since the last notification of acceptance comes out March 16, my guess is any day now?
It will be a relief to at least stop waiting for a particular time/day to hear from the school! These waiting periods between notifications have just driven me crazy!
does anyone know about how long it takes for VCU to get financial aid packages out?
Thank you.🙂 I appreciate your help.
Must be nice not having to keep a schedule now that you're in 😉
Yeah but I've been waiting since October, so I'm not too hopeful.
Dr. Whitehurst-Cook wasn't even in the office on my day, so I feel bad e-mailing her to ask about my app if I never even met her.
Do you mean to ask how soon VCU physically gives you the money you requested for when applying for loans (for tuition and living expenses)?
I'm sure this was answered in previous threads but I couldn't find the answer, does VCU allow update letters, or Letters of interest if continued on the hold status?

No, I mean how long it takes to find out how much and what type of loans you'll be getting. At my undergrad they called it an "award letter"
What's the point of sending in an update/LOI if it doesn't change your odds of an acceptance?
