Mine is marked complete. It also lists my LOR packet and says that it was received 7/16.

Received 7/16, but when did you assign your LORs, and when did you submit your 2ndaray?

How long does It take for them to process LORs from when I assign them to the school?

I'd like to know this too. I assigned my LORs on 7/10, and submitted my 2ndary on 7/15. It only shows that my secondary is submitted on the status page.

My status was complete right after I submitted my secondary yesterday 7/18.

In case anyone was still wondering, according to the VCU section of Princeton Review's 168 Best Medical Schools, "About 75 percent of AMCAS applicants who are Virginia residents are sent secondary applications, and about 40 percent of nonresidents are sent secondaries." I don't know how accurate this is, but congrats anyways to everyone who got one!

Log in to the link they gave you in their initial email. They do not send a follow-up email indicating the secondary is available. Either that, or you are still being screened.

🙂 still being screened it seems... VA has some of my backup schools (used to live there) but I'm almost hoping I don't have to fill out more secondaries. I got 18 back so far and crossing out 3 of those made me feel a bit guilty - would rather have them cross me out!

I assigned my letters 10 days ago and sumitted my app Sunday night.... according to the status check I am still incomplete and missing the letters.

Did we decide that even though funky stuff is going on with the letters (disappearing, reappearing) it has turned out OK for most people??

I don't want to be the person who calls them a day and a half after submitting to ask why my file isn't complete... but I feel the need for a little SDN reassurance!! My letters will magically appear some time this week, and I'll be complete, right??

Man, I never thought I would be the "neurotic premed" type but this process has a way of getting to you!!

Submitted 6 days ago. Letters assigned 11 days ago. Still incomplete b/c VCU hasn't downloaded my LORs yet.

...at least I think that's why.

I am having the same problem. I submitted my app and fee on Saturday and my letters were assigned about a week ago I think. I want to give them time to update the my status or whatever before I call, but I want to make sure that there isn't a problem with my letters or anything else.

vcu (like so many other schools) takes a long time updating letters. don't worry though, mine were finally updated to received and everything else was complete a whiiiile ago.

It's weird that I submitted my secondary after Blue and Elijah and I got a complete status immediately after I click submit. Weird but...it's all cool.

Simply judging by their status pages, I'd suggest VCU. In terms of organization, there's simply no comparison. I sent an email to Tulane with my date of submission and asked if I was complete. They sent an e-mail back telling me they received my app on the date that I gave them. Thanks, Tulane.

Once the review is complete, your file will be prioritized, and interviews will be granted based on your priority score and the date your file was completed. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates.

Early Decision Plan candidates will be notified on or before October 1st. Therefore, Early Decision Plan candidates must have interviews completed before Monday, September 28, 2009.

We follow the Uniform Acceptance Policy of the AAMC for regular applicants. Candidates who have been interviewed will be presented to the Committee and decisions made, again by priority score. The first acceptances issued will be on October 16th. After the October 16th offers, the Committee will continue to review candidates, and we will make subsequent offers sometime around December 15th, February 1st, and again March 16th.

We will not create the alternate list until late March, after we have reviewed all files and we have filled the class in March.

Read the top of the verification page - it explains that all the formatting should return when VCU looks at your essays. Hopefully the Internet wizards do their magic! 😉

I'm sorry🙁 That's crazy how quick the turn around was! I submitted last week and it still says I'm not complete b/c they haven't downloaded my letters yet.

same thing happened to me with nebraska. After payment it was like insta reject. Its just how schools do things sometimes🙁. This is why i love schools like vanderbilt 🙂

vanderbilt if they give you a 2ndary, you automatically have an interview invite. Therefore they dont feign interest or waste time or money.

They almost gave me a heart attack by sending me 2 "check your status" emails

first one said that I was complete (already knew that) and then after I got the second one, I thought "geez already rejected?" but then it just said complete again
