A LARGE portion of the class is accepted off of the waitlist. In fact, I don't know of (but I'm sure there are some, I haven't asked everyone I know when they were accepted) ANYONE in my class who was accepted before New Years other than myself. Keep hope alive!

Don't judge me... I just have a hard time caring right now, taking an hour break

IDoc: Virginian, born and reared. but I did go to school in Cali UG and PostBac for pre-reqs and I maintained VA residency.

Well, hell, I'm here too.

I haven't been able to concentrate on this stuff since, say, last week. I'm already on vacation in my head.

HA, I was accepted July 17th and had to get from Cali to VA by Aug 10th back in 2007 when I was accepted. It definitely isn't over for anyone yet.👍:luck:

Holy crap. That sounds complicated.

To me, having from May 15th to beginning of August seems like a short time to make the transition.
 
Interview invite today. I've had status 3 since 10/23 so glad to see this.
 
For those that haven't heard anything post-interview, are you planning to send the Admissions OFfice an LOI or list of updates so that they know that you're still interested in the school?

Dr WHC told us that it wouldn't matter whether or not you do at this point because your priority score won't change.

Well reasoned advice, but aren't people eventually pulled from the waitlist based off of perceived interest by Dr. WHC rather than based on priority score?
 
could someone tell me what the different status messages are? I can't seem to find all of them in one place, anywhere on the boards!

That's a good point. Personally I see no reason to rush it now when there will be more to update closer to march unless you want to send multiple updates. Really your call, just don't expect it to help your chances in Feb or Mar is all I'm saying.

I got this priority score pre-interview. Is this the best one, or is the "may" status the best one?

Either way, I got this hold message a couple weeks after my completion (I was complete in early November), and was invited for an interview about 3 weeks after that, if that serves as inspiration to anyone...
 
My interview is on 1/26. You think I would find out whether I got in or not on 2/1? Or you think they would tell me in March?

I doubt you would find out anything by Feb 1st, because I interviewed on Dec 1st and didn't find out anything on Dec 15th, not even the "hold" status. By March, I think if you didn't get rejected you will either get a hold or an acceptance.
 
So is there any way to find out where you stood when recent acceptances were given out?

Also, did anybody who didn't get accepted in Oct. get in now?

I interviewed Dec 7th and got in Dec 15th so yes it is possible for you to get in on Feb 1st.
 
Just withdrew with an interview 1/5. Hopefully someone can scoop it up. Good luck everyone!
 
I got the "may" status in early october and still no interview. Is that normal?

The opposite happened to me. I haven't been rejected, but I meshed well with my interviewer, and got put on hold through the Oct and Dec offers.
 
Hey Guys, I am interviewing at VCU on Jan 7th and need to book a return flight. My interview is at 10am but I am not sure when the day will end. Can anyone shed some light on this? I see a 5pm flight but I am not sure if that is too early. Thanks

You should be good for 5pm. I had a couple of hours of down time after my interview (before and at the airport) and my flight was for 6:30pm.
 
Interviewed on Dec 1st and still no update, got the survey page last week. I am definitely getting concerned. Is that atypical to not get any update for more than 3 weeks? Should I be expecting rejection?
 
Should I be worried that there are no more interview slots available. It says I have only 7 days to schedule, but there haven't been a single one since I got the invite.

I had the survey page for 3 weeks after my interview with no hold update, if that helps.

I'm from Florida, how is the weather over there like in January? I have an skirt suit but I am scared that it would be too cold when we do the campus tour

This happened to me last week, I was freaking out because I was going out of the country and my internet access is limited. I called but they are on break until jan 4th, I called the IT department at the school and they didn't know what to do. So I emailed these people [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] and wrote them that I was worried because the system didn't have any available spots. Wednesday while I was about to take off I logged in and the system allowed me to schedule an interview. I couldn't pick a date or anything because there was only one date available but at least i was able to schedule it. So email and keep checking 🙂 good luck.

its was pretty chilly when i went in december, and drizzling too. im a dude from cali and it wasnt too bad but im not sure how you handle the weather. we did walk around outside a lot for the tour so it is something to consider wearing something longer.

Richmond weather is kind of crazy, but there is a decent chance that it will be around, or below, freezing.
 
hey, for those who have sent update letters, did you e-mail them? to what address?
 
I know I said I wouldn't do this because I have a feeling that those of us who were eligible in previous dates but not accepted are headed for the WL, but... 5 weeks 😳

which address do we mail the transcripts to? Is it the Moseley House?
 
committee meets tomorrow!! OMG!

So for those of us who interviewed in the second half of December, I guess this week we'll find out if we're either getting rejected or put on hold...

I don't know if you will get anything tomorrow or not. For me, I got the survey page more than 2 weeks after my interview, and it's been one month and 3 days and still no update/rejection status. We are on the same page, I hope we will hear something tomorrow.:xf:

Weird...I got the survey page the next day. I called the admissions office last week or so, and they said today would be the next committee meeting where they would review applicants who interviewed during the second half of December, so we should hear something from them this week (either a rejection or hold status, with the hold meaning we might get accepted on Feb. 1) I really hope with all my heart it's a hold! VCU seems like such a great place🙂
