mwc emailed me back a couple days ago saying "my position on the waitlist offers good hope for an offer, but it's hard to tell when that might be and depends on as many people withdrawing as last year." she said also to email her again at the end of may if i haven't heard anything from them.

i wonder if this means that ill here realllly late if i do hear, or if i have a solid chance for the post may 15 shuffle. blah! waiting sucks

yeah i emailed her right after getting the alternate list. it sounds promising but i dont want to get my hopes up too high. i guess all i can do is wait! 😳
 
yeah I definitely didn't hear anything good in response. I got a "you should think about applying to our postbacc program", which I take to mean...."better luck next year". I think I'm just going to focus on settling in at the d.o. school I've been accepted to.... 👍

that's lame. this process sucks, i don't even have one accept yet. good luck to you and congrats on the do acceptance!
 
hmm... i wonder why she won't tell me anything to indicate my position or chance of getting off the WL when it seems like i emailed her at the same time as everyone else that got a reply? she was nice enough to respond to my question of when the movement should start tho so gluck to everybody :xf::xf: ... it can happen as early as any day now!

haha ughh i want to know one way or the other! that does sound promising but at least you know that you should expect to wait until summer before really worrying.

She hasn't responded to me at all yet. I emailed her the Sunday after the waitlist came out (the 4th). Did you guys email her before that? Maybe she'll reply in the next couple days...

I emailed her around then too. Hopefully, you hear something good soon! Maybe try to email her again?
 
MWC replied back to my email saying she's not sure if they got to my rank last year, list isn't moving as it did last time this year, maybe after may 15th.
Don't know what to read into it. She replied back last week.

those who spoke to admissions can you post your stats and if you are IS or OOS so we can have an idea of what admissions is hinting at towards when they (MWC) tells you your number is promising or that last year they came close to getting to you...

I asked Dr WC in an email if they reached my priority score last year. She responded: April 15th when everyone would respond to the invitation for the AL and that they expect significant movement May 15th and June would be the best time to ask. It seems like a generic response?--nothing indicating where I stand on the AL. June is so far away 🙁 I wish they could tell you if you are top third, middle third or bottom third like most schools.

Count me in too... Got the same basic general response. Last year I was told they got to my score the previous year and I'm still not in... so it is really only a guess. No one knows how the waitlist will move. But I'm hoping for some good movement this year! Good luck everyone!!
 
Hi Am M1 at VCU, going for M2 August 10. I am from Southern California, looking for room partner with similar interest.

lol at least you guys got some sort of response. i was just ignored, period :meanie: and i sent a few days after the waitlist was made
 
how long did it typically take for her to respond to your emails?
 
So I guess today marks the first day of official waiting (i.e. checking email/sdn at the usual notification time) - Good luck to all of us!! Hope to start seeing some movement in a few hours :luck:

Sorry about that. I just figured since Dr. MWC said it will start moving after 4/15 that today was the first possible day someone might have gotten in. Guess it was wishful thinking...

When I asked Dr. MWC about my position she just said, "you're in a good position."

Any takers on what that means? I didn't get more feedback like others did.

I'm thinking that it means you're in the portion of the list that has traditionally been accepted, not towards the end where some years would be acceptance and other years be rejection.
..in other words, you're most likely in the top half/third (or whatever the minimum number coming off the list) of the list.

does anyone know if there has been movement on the IS waitlist?
 
When I asked her about my chances, she said that the list was currently not moving, but that she could answer the question much better after May 15.

This is good news to those of you who got more assured responses! Congrats! =D
 
My response from Dr. W-C was "we did reach your place on the list last year. The May 15 date causes a lot of motion from the out of state list". (I'm OOS) Short and simple, guess it doesn't mean much especially if the waitlist isn't moving much this year. Guess I just have to wait awhile 🙁

So no acceptances off the waitlist last Thursday? Maybe she meant it would start moving, but they'd wait till the Mon/Tues after to send anything? Or maybe it really is not moving much yet
 
To the people on the OOS waitlist, I will probably be withdrawing once my financial aid packet comes in (unless something ridiculous happens). I'm going to try not to wait past May 1st, but I want to get all financial things straightened out first.

I try.

This process is so stressful, and I'm on the other side for a couple of other schools - so I would want someone else to do the same.

Good luck for everybody on the waitlist - this really is a great school and they care about their students like nowhere else I've visited.

Is that even allowed? They can make us send immunization records prior to May 15? That seems a bit controlling. I'm still trying to decide between schools and they're making me send immunizations prior to the final decision date? Lame.
 
While you definitely have to send it in before you matriculate, you won't have to until you accept.

I'm with you. Just withdraw... they are totally lame. ;-)

Of course, being on the waitlist, I wouldn't mind.

Just talked to admissions office - nobody has got off the w-l yet. As you all know, there will be "movement" mid-May.

This time last year, about 15 ppl were already accepted off w-l. Just b/c there hasn't been early w-l movement this year, does that mean we won't as much movement compared to last year? Perhaps, more ppl are holding on to their acceptance at VCU and there may not be "much movement"

people can only hold on to their acceptances until May 15th, and also some are waiting on other waitlists that start moving on May 15th which can change things! Don't give up hope, there is still time! wish you guys all the best :luck:
 
Well da10 just stated above that they withdrew from the wait-list...maybe the admission's office is waiting to get some more withdrawals before they start making offers to the wait-list students?!?!

I guess we will find out!
 
Quick question, do schools find out if we're waitlisted at more than one school ?
