Am I the only one still waiting for a secondary?
AMCAS verified middle of July.
Anyone know if they screen?

Hi ab2989, I didn't get a secondary either. I found out that they stopped taking Canadians this year. Don't know if this applies to you. Good luck!:luck:

I'm in the same situation! I didn't know they decided to stop taking Canadian students too. Well, there goes 32$USD down the drain.

Good luck to all!:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

haha mann i think the "Describe yourself" prompt is the hardest one! What did you guys start it with?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Submitted secondary 7/27, letters appeared 8/4, finally complete today 8/13

Submitted 07/23 and letters went up 07/29....still not complete 🙁

I guess there is no particular order that they are doing them in. :luck: to all that were complete!

I e-mailed the office a while ago about this and they said even though the website said "no" for ready for review my ap was still complete and "in line to be reviewed"

If I was 100% sure it would never come back to bite me, I'd totally apply to this school just so I can write that.

I have an AMCAS fee waiver but at the end of my supplemental its still asking me to pay the $105. Anyone know why that could be?

if you do i highly suggest you bold the part that says you invented the question mark. and put it on your ecs.

Send them an email with a copy of your FAP confirmation. They will let you bypass it.

Still not complete. Submitted sometime around end of July. They have everything they need, etc.

Quick question: I got an email from someone named Kathy Griffin (from AMC) today saying that I only have 5 credits of orgo and asking if I'm planning on completing that requirement by the end of Spring 2011. Anyone else get an email of that sort? And if so, does it bear any relevance (ie. they're interested in interviewing you or it's just a mass email for those who haven't finished prereqs, etc)? A quick glance through last year's thread didn't reveal anything, so if anyone knows about this, that'd be great!

Edit:

Ah, this makes a bit more sense. I've had everything in for a few weeks now, according to the website. It was just that the application complete part still said no. Thanks for letting us know. Hmm, with this bit of info and getting that email about orgo earlier today, I hope that means good news! 🙂

Bump. Anyone else experience something like this?

Kaushik, sorry I can't be of much help. It may be a good sign in that if they weren't interested, they wouldn't really care whether or not you were going to finish the requirement. On the other hand, there may be someone in the admission office whose job it is just to check through people's requirements (and has no bearing on handing out decisions). 😕

On another note, I submitted 14 days ago now, and my letters are still not posted, though everything else is there. My letters have been with AMCAS since June and all the other schools have them. Do you think its worth contacting them?

No worries. I just wasn't sure if it was something that they did for all their applicants or if I was special! 😀

You can call them up if you want but, it's probably just that they're behind. For example, I submitted my stuff more than 2 weeks ago and only got marked complete the other day.

My status was finally marked with my LORs and secondary app and all "received" a week or so back. When I took a look at the status page again yesterday & today...everything went back to "pending" & "no". My LORs also disappeared.

Does this mean they're reviewing my completed app? Did anyone have this happen to them?

I'm still "yes yes yes complete"..so you may want to give it a day or two and then call them to find out if something is wrong.

Just got an email from Albany saying they received my certified application....random, considering I was marked complete a while ago.

Same here. You and I lead the pack in weird crap happening with our applications. Haha.

I just received the email acknowledging receipt of my certified secondary, too. Submitted 7/29/10.

Interview invite this morning. Complete around 8/5 OOS

Congrats. Did you get an email or was it status update?

EEEE

Just got invited!

First MD interview, so excited.

I just received one too. I can't remember when I was complete, maybe first two weeks of August? And I'm IS.

...on or shortly after July 22.

Thats when i submitted my application I think

Interview!!!! OMG, this is my first one. I am pumped! OOS, ~3.9, 33, complete early August!!! Maybe some more exclamation points would get my point across even better!!!!!! 😛

YES!!!

"We are pleased to tell you that you have been selected to interview
at the Albany Medical College."

this makes up for my two losses this morning, Georgetown and Tulane.

OOS 3.61/30

Congratulations to everyone with the interviews! Looks like y'all were complete early August...so hopefully they'll move along to mid August (I was complete on the 10th) soon! :xf: for some good luck for me haha!

On what days are they scheduling you guys for interviews?

Same here! 😀 I scheduled for 9/23, in the morning. My stats are on MDApps, secondary complete 7/26. I'm so excited! My friend was accepted here last year although he ended up going elsewhere, and he really liked it so I hope I do too 🙂

Yeah I got it via email. Looks like they interview wednesdays and thursdays for anyone interested. dates are 9/15-9/30 right now.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get fired from work for all this time off. Good and bad I guess haha.

When you guys say "complete", are you referring to that "application certify" email that they sent?

I was referring to when my status online finally showed complete.
