I too am not getting any work done today.
Me either. Usually I'd feel guilty, but I work for OHSU so right now it feels a little like poetic justice

Sorry, NW. This process is crushing.
I strongly recommend you make an appointment with admissions to discuss what they felt your app was lacking. I've heard that other people have done this and been successful if they follow admissions' advice.
Beyond how late the post interview appointment it's not going to be all that helpful because they're switching to MMI format. Unless someone has heard anything to the contrary.
i know ohsu is pretty stingy with scholarship money, at least for the first year. are there opportunities for scholarships your second, third, and fourth year if you don't get any form of aid at the start?
Also, can I use my (so far very faulty) mind-reading powers to suggest that if you haven't heard anything so far you're probably at least *somewhere* on the waitlist?![]()
Hmmm...I hope so. I'm still on hold despite checking every 25 minutes all day. However I'm not getting my hopes up, with OHSU who knows.
I looked through last years thread and it look liked they did particular updates by day, meaning reject one day and waitlist the next.
Again all blind speculation as to what the plan is this year.
I don't know about this plan, but I got an acceptance email today, so don't get worried if you haven't heard! Hopefully I'll see you all there.

Yes. They announce scholarship application time first year - seems like it's around January? In my experience, quite a few people got small scholarships. Spreading the love instead of handing out full-rides. 🙂
It definitely sounds like they're going MMI, which is fine by me. But like Dianyla said, it would look a little weird to essentially say "you didn't like me last year and I don't care to know why."

First update! I interviewed during the last week. I imagine they're going through us first before they'll tackle the hold list.
and so it beginsnumber 1 on the alternate list.
number 1 on the alternate list.
number 1 on the alternate list.
number 1 on the alternate list.
Hah number one must have you feeling good. Congrats.
Does this mean they're done with acceptances?
Alright so who knows if this is a shoe in or not...but I was emailed an update for a waitlist spot of #18.
Does any remember how many they took last year? Sorry I know I could look back in the archived forums, but I'm sure one of you knows for sure.
Good luck everyone!

Alright I found this in last years thread, it is the number OHSU took off the waitlist each year.

URHere, you are an expert at this and have been so helpful so maybe you can answer this question.
I am on the waitlist for the MD/PhD, do they also consider me for MD only? If they can't offer me a MD/PhD spot this year I would love to go for the first year and apply as an internal candidate. Please let me know how this process works.

So... I'm #9 on the waitlist... how likely do you think I will get in? Should I relax a bit now or still keep studying for the MCAT in case I don't get in?
The odds are you wont get in... number 9 is pretty sketchy i dont see 9 people turning down OHSU....So... I'm #9 on the waitlist... how likely do you think I will get in? Should I relax a bit now or still keep studying for the MCAT in case I don't get in?

No status change on the portal (its still says "hold") and no email today! Does that pretty much mean game over for me at OHSU? On a positive note we are having a beautiful day on the Oregon coast!
Alternate #60. I think it's time to get excited about my other acceptance.
Gah I never even got a status update to put me on hold...

Hey, until you hear otherwise you're still very much in the game!![]()
Sorry about the results at OHSU 🙁
I'm excited for your other acceptance though 🙂 Say hi to Arizona for me ok?
I was waitlisted last year as an MD/MPH applicant and this is how the process was explained to me:
If you're a part of the "special" demographics that OHSU cares about (i.e., in state, from one of the state with no med schools, and everything else they listed on the portal) you will be admitted to the MD program if your number comes up. If your number comes up and there's still room in the dual program (which is rarely the case) you will be offered a spot in the dual program.
However, if you do not fall in the special pool of applicants, then when your number comes up, you can only be considered for the dual program. As both MD/MPH and MD/PhD programs are tiny, the chances are slim to none.

Any ideas on how to file a racial discrimination law suit against this school?
